People say that sort of thing when it actually is the obvious guess all the time. Tim Cain is not going to come back and announce that he's there for NV2 (or BG4/ KOTOR3/ Fury3d2/ Halo RPG/ Minesweeper RPG or whatever else people might think) because that's what you have marketing for; plus of course you get the free benefit of the rumour mill. If it is NV2 there's an obvious tie in event coming up which would garner far more media attention than Tim Cain. 

(IMO there's a pretty strong- as much as circumstantial an be strong- body of evidence that it is for a Fallout title. It certainly should be, circumstantially. Wouldn't bet the house on it though to be sure)

Would make sense. Tim prefers making new IP. As much as I would love Arcanum2, I somewhat doubt it would be what would bring him back from half retirement. Maybe he is turning his space sim toy into a game? 😁

Matt Chat with Jane Jensen (of Gabriel Knight fame).

And I'm hurt. They actually got to a Gabriel Knight 4 pretty quickly (10:40ish).

So Jane et all got contacts at MS (who now own the IP). They put together a full pitch (story, concept arts, ...) They sent it to the contacts.

They tried multiple times. NO ANSWER WHATSOVER !! Wtf. 

 

If anybody from Obsidian is reading this: try to get this noticed at MS plz!

I don't think they will ever go back to any of the older titles. Look at Bloodlines 2. Now that's a game I wanted Obsidian to make.

I'd say that the issue with Bloodlines 2 as released was the lack of experience on the developers' side (no idea what happened with the original team and their version). And I agree that Obsidian could have handled the title much better. 

Larian has demonstrated that older IP can be wildly successful, but they also had a strong playerbase interested in their work more than in a Baldur's Gate game. Given that Bethesda seems to be trying to release things alongside the TV series, I would bet on FO:NV2 as well, though I would prefer a new IP (or at least something not post-apocalyptic).

always make no sense that paradox insist on making bloodline 2 with random studio

if paradox know the game are too much for themself why not at least commission a studio with a little more experience

Secondly - I'd rather it be a new IP. I almost always would rather it be a new IP.  Because then there's hope that it could be the one that would reignite in me an interest in an rpg, again, if only for a short while.

Sure, but also look at Bloodlines2. Publishers love taking advantage of existing IP for marketing purposes. Usually brings more eyeballs to the project.

I am curious what project was compelling enough for TC to move back to work at Obsidian. I hope I will like it.

I think he worked as a contractor instead of as an employee.  So... he's gone back full time i guess would be the difference.  Maybe he gets benefits now.  That would be nice

 

 

 

ToEE on steam is out. It's pretty cheap, base price 9,75€ for me.

Mortismal said they fixed most of the bugs. He think it's base game + mod fixes + some polish.

Allegedly we could get an announcement for a new Divinity title by Larian. Icon on teased Game Awards statue seems to align pretty well with recently discovered Divinity trademark.

Which sounds like soon, with it would line up if they want to do Early Access again within the next year or so.

Instead of fixing WoW’s new floating house exploit, Blizzard makes it official - Ars Technica

Solasta2 Early Access in March 2026. Voice cast is quite stacked which makes me a bit sceptical. Unless the story telling gets much much better than the original higher production might not pens them the low budget charm the original had. 😆

In 20 years when they are towards the end of milking DLC for it, and a lot of it will be discounted, I may look into getting this.
