The gang have already set up their YouTube channel in preparation for tomorrow's announcement, so likely not.

YT threw a video on this topic up for me, and I went "oh no, no more Zero/Extra Punctuation?" Then the video mentioned the new channel. I immediately bookmarked it. I do agree with Wormerine that Zero P. series hasn't been as good lately (but Extra was still interesting) but still, I like his snark in those. And yeah, his stuff is the only reason I knew Escapist existed. >.>

It's nice to hear of the solidarity of their team tho. I wish them luck.

I guess the game had legs

So maybe people only had fatigue of games like this and dropped in later. It's certainly possible that a game doesn't push that hard on release, but will keep selling steadily over time. Shame we can't see the statistics.

I am happy to see this. So hopefully we might see PoE3 before my retirement (or at least before Star Citizen release). 🤷‍♂️

It also may point to piss-poor marketing as a major culprit here. Potential fans had to find or stumble upon the game over time because Obsidian did not lead them to it.

That's fine. I haven't cared for Zero Punctuation for some time now. Extra Punctuation, though, has been lots of fun. I hope Yahtzee will find a way to do something that feels less formulaic than ZP have been for last couple years.

Given how long ZP had been going for, some... ... Over a decade, right? ... Maybe... 15 years or so? The point is that it was a very long running series. Given how long Yahtzee had been doing ZP, a drop in quality was almost guaranteed. You just can't keep up a high level for that long realistically. I still think ZP was pretty good toward the end. Not nearly as good as 7 or 8 years ago, sure, but entertaining enough.

Here's the Second Wind introduction video:

Yeah, just expressing my personal lack of concern over Yahtzee loosing rights to ZP.

Hilarious. I hope it was a good bonus. It must have been frustrating and confusing to watch indifference upon PoE2 release. Please, please do PoE3. I am more than ready to spend years complaining about another RPG. 🙂

I'd have thought Alan Wake 2 would have been bigger. I guess being stuck on Epic cut out the legs.

I guess this is more fuel for the eternal PoE sales debates.

I think more important to me than how Deadfire did is that Sawyer wants to do a hogwild PoE3. Microsoft, let him cook. This man will make a game where you need to have a PhD in math to understand half of it and an expert knowledge of the occult to understand the other half. It will be glorious.

So awards like this matter to you? Just curious, because they don't matter to me at all, but I'm always interested in why things matter to people.

Yes, they do  matter because I do  still place  significance in overall gamers feedback and   reviews   from  certain gaming journalists

But not  with every game and my personal views are  the most important. For  example I didnt enjoy Disco Elysium despite  being highly rated  by many

But I have certain rules, for example I never play Bethesda games until 6-9  months irrespective of any initial positive reviews

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

uff, the game looks interesting, but the streamer killed it for me :( Was not able to watch it more than 2 minutes... I will definitely put it on my radar and hopefully it will be released on GOG as well. (THQ is the publisher, so this seems realistic).

I'll have you know that this new and wholly original snarky short form video game review series is legally distinct from Zero Punctuation. For one, there's not a single "Z" in the title. Checkmate atheists.

Apparently 2ndWind folks are negotiation with Escapist for the rights to their old stuff, so it is not impossible that they won’t have to to knockoffs for their own stuff for too long.
