You could try Epic Tavern. But... it's an early access title that constantly has people complaining that it was abandoned, and developers saying no it wasn't. The development is definitely going very slowly on this one. I played it a couple of years back and it was okayish to fun. Essentially you run a tavern where adventurers gather and act as quest giver. Sorta. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

I just have that trouble where so many of the Yakuza mini-games involve some form of flashing up coloured buttons to press on time and in various rhythms, and I'm constantly having to double-check what I'm actually pressing and then screw up the timing. I need to spend many, many more hours building up my thumb and finger muscle memory to get it right.. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
marelooke Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) Well, it only took 9 years of occasionally firing up the game, but I've unlocked the last achievement I had left in TES V: Skyrim. Namely, killing a legendary dragon, which, as a prerequisite for them to spawn, means your character need to be at least lvl78. I could, of course, just have cheated and gotten this aeons ago, but I just had to do it the hard way, because that's how I roll. (oh, and I ended up being lvl79 when I got it. Ironically it attacked me just when I left the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary upon finishing that entire questchain) Edited October 16, 2020 by marelooke 2 1
majestic Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 Finally killed my first past (the Hunter's) in Enter The Gungeon. It took a while but I finally figured it out. It's not just the perspective that's weird, walking diagonally in the game, while possible, is actually really bad depending on which enemies you face. I think this is because enemies have perfect shot prediction. So whenever they fire while you're walking and you keep your speed and direction you'll eat that bullet (assuming their weapons have perfect accuracy, not all enemies or weapons do). But walking diagonally doesn't seem to be one direction, the game seems to register your key presses separately and combine them into a diagonal movement. While this really doesn't do anything strange to enemies firing single bullets or fixed patterns, it seems to throw off targeted spread patterns or enemies with rapid fire weapons. "Tested" this with the first boss in the game. Well, the first boss, there are three possible first bosses, but the Gatling Gull is the one where it is readily observable. When it spins up his Vulcan cannon and you simple walk up or down - given enough space - you'll essentially end up doding the bullets because the gun is really inaccurate and most bullets will by the time they would reach you over- or undershoot you. You dodge the entire attack simply by walking in one direction. The game predicts where you would be, fires there and the bullets simply vector off course. If you run out of space you simply dodge-roll and change direction. Try the same walking diagonally and the bullets will eventually hit you because they're fired off at where you wouldn't be and their own inaccuracy works in their favor. It could also be that my keyboard's WASD keys are really worn out and holding the keys down sometimes registers as rapid presses instead. I've had that keyboard for a long time. On the other hand I don't have any issues typing. So dunno. Or it could be something in the prediction algorithm that makes factoring in bullet inaccuracy easier for diagonal vectors, or maybe the perspective, where the bullets are and the location of the hit box has issues when walking diagonally. Or I'm imagining things and simply got gud, but that game went from problematic for me to beatable in a handful of runs - after like 80 wildly unsuccessful ones. Either way, it works for me, and that's what matters, right? Off to kill some more pasts and maybe unlock a new Gungeoneer or two. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.
Hawke64 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. I defeated Templar Octienne and got out of the desert. Most of the local quests are resolved and dungeons cleared, though I think all rats will drop "Raw Meat" until the end of the game, as one of the side quests requires it and does not have an ending condition (e.g. "Collect 100 pieces of raw rat meat"). While the plains are technically similar (I guess, all areas are), the region looks more welcoming. 2
Keyrock Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 I still haven't defeated the final boss of La Mulana 2, but at least I'm making progress. I got him fairly hurt in phase 4. During that phase he uses some of the attacks of previous guardians. At different stages of damage he switches to different attacks. I got the first few down pat, but I'm still figuring out the best approach to some of the latter attacks. Considering how ludicrous his HP during phase 4 is, I have to imagine this is the final phase. RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

Mamoulian War Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 After almost 10 hour long Saturday marathon of Dark Souls II New Game 2+ on my PS3, I've finally achieved Platinum Trophy. This time, I have gone only for the mandatory bosses and left Lost Sinner as a last one. Up until her, it went very smooth and I had to my surprise inly 3 or 4 deaths. Then she decided to whip my ass with her big sword, and I went few time really angry. Especially when one of my controllers started to malfunction once in a while, which caused me at least 4 deaths. My DeathCounter stopped at 1474 , with only 36 deaths in this NG2+ run. In total, I spent little bit over 210 hours on this game, and enjoyed every single second of it, with the exception of Shrine of Amana, which sucked walrus balls!
