What Are You Playing Now: The Other, Other Thread

@melkathi ad 6. I care, and I enjoy it 😛 well with the exception of Durance. He is not as annoying to me, but from his whole spell pool I am using like 6 maybe 7 spells. Which is bad... Other spellcasters’ spell pools are little bit better balanced, but because it is not vancian type of casting, from in each spell level you Just pick the most powerful and cast them all the time. With Ciphers being the most extreme. As soon as I got access to level 6 spells, I am using 90% of the time one spell which spreads circle of water wave and knocks down all enemies in area. For me the most balanced spell pool is for the mage, followed close by druid spell pools. Unfortunatelly I was not able to find out a lot about chanter spells, so I will not comment on their spell pools.

Being said all that, PoE is still one of the best wRPG games, I’ve played in last 10 years. Can’t wait to put my hands on PoE2...

Bloodlines, how do I keep Zhao alive? Even with celerity he's dead almost instantly. Is there a trick to it or something?

No, he's supposed to die.

I'm 95% sure you can save him, although it's super hard:

In all fairness, I don't think I've ever managed to do that myself.

Edited by Skazz

It says you can keep him alive in the wiki as well but I can't manage it

I've tried it with a sword and with a machine gun and I just can't keep him from dying. I guess I'm going to just have to let him die

Someone in my google search commented that it may only be possible with the unofficial patch.

I've never seen a more accurate character analysis of GM.

GM was a nice idea but doesn't work gameplay wise.

There is a scene where you can ask her for help, if in your party, so she can do the Cypher stuff you may not be able to. Eder then comments how it is unreasonable of you to assume a random woman passing by would be a Cypher. Because the rest of the party are unaware of GM being part of the party. They don't notice her unless circumstances force them to notice her, and then they just see her as a random passer by. Which is very strange in dungeons (for example when you use her in the Skaern temple to clear the trigger from the young noblewoman's mind (what? In the middle of the temple a random villager appears, happens to be a Cypher and walks off again, getting lost in the crowd?)) or deep in the Endless Paths.

I have arrived into The Abbey of the Fallen Moon, and entered Halls of Silence. Exploring the surroundings, I have decided to click on a lever which I noticed on the wall, and

there was no silence anymore... The longlasting screeching sound of opening iron doors was so maddening, that just few moment later all the nice monks meditating in that room went completely berserk and the floor was completely wiped clean with everyone's ass contained in my party, with the exception of Edér, which was tanking and slowly cutting down last three of them...

The speed how fast that happened took me completely by surprise 😄

Oh man, my favourite bit of PoEs. If all of the PoEs were White March it would be glorious series. Overall, I feel DLCs show what PoE could be, with a bit more time.

I managed to do it with a combination of high Celerity, the AoE stun effect from Presence and abusing the melee attack that sends people flying. IIRC you get an XP bonus for saving him, but it may not be worth the hassle.

- When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.

I would like to not have played XCOM yet and play it for the first time...

obsidian dlc are often much better then base game

wonder if outer worlds will have dlc at all

I tried to watch someone on Twitch play Doom Eternal and it was moving/spinning so fast even as a viewer I couldn't tell what was going on.  I don't know how people can play action at such "speeds."  :D

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.

I think those games are easier to play then watch. Didn't play Dooms, but they look fun.

That’s correct, I love to play sometimes fast paced shooters, like Doom or Hard Reset, but I hate them to watch. If you play the game, you feel the speed completely different than watching a stream or video.

Avadon: The Black Fortress. I've completed the game with the less violent main ending. I have tried to kill Redbeard after, but he was spamming the soul jars too quickly, so eventually the party ran out of consumables. Tried the same with cheats, it still took half an hour. Somehow ironically, actions that had not affected the story during the game (or I had not noticed) determined specific outcomes for the regions.

Okami. I successfully reached the Sasa Sanctuary and acquired another Celestial Brush technique.

More Pillars of Eternity!

And Kaoto from The Abbey of the Fallen Moon is no more! I got owned twice, before I was able to find a way how to get his party down. This fight would be impossible without Kana. His AoE paralyzing stun was the ability, which helped me to turn the tide of the battle on my side! I just had to be sure, to get into the cone the Cleric and as many monks as possible. And then slowly take them one by one slowly down.

Very, very difficult fight.

After a thrilling and truly amazing gaming experience in RDR2 I am now playing Vampyr and its good fun. I am trying to be a nice Vampire where reasonable but I will happily chomp anyone who annoys me 🧛‍♂️

I've been on a bit of an Ubisoft kick. Picked up AC: Odyssey in the sales awhile back and finally started it. It is a gorgeous game I will say that.

Roaming the world, I might have got a bit distracted by the general run around, managed to hit level 59 while travelling all around the Greek world doing sidequests and still haven't actually tracked down my mother yet....

And my god, I know it's the classical Greek world, but so many of the side quests and stories end in some form of tragedy regardless of what you do.

Edit: And of course, I then just picked up AC: Syndicate and AC: Origins in the batch of sales last week, now my minor OCD is kicking me to play them in the right order.

Ah, Vampyr. Granted, it's a bit rough around the edges, but I can't help but applaud what the developers tried to do with that game (i.e. the social network stuff).

Also, the atmosphere.

What is darkness but lurking sun?
What is wall but enslaved stone?
What is glass but tortured sand?
What is a song but a call to arms?
What is hate but jilted love?
What is life but death stranding pending?

I hope you will have fun with it all the way through!
