I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

HoMM style tactical combat?

That's a stretch goal that I never knew I always wanted.

Not sure I do. Will there be a way to skip it?

Sounds a bit like Deadfire's ship combat to me.

EDIT: An optional feature one could sink a lot of money into, and not be any fun in the end.

Same. I mean, it could be good, and that would be great. I just hope their stretch goals so far have been low balled cost wise because I doubt you can develop a whole new game mode for just $125k (I do think $95k$195k [bloody hell these stretch goal numbers are a bit mismatched] for a new race is pretty conservative though, so fingers crossed eh)

The next stretch goal is the prisoners of marzipan or something

It's not the last one though as people are already guessing the stretch goal after that. I don't want to post what some think it is because I think it will do more harm than good here around Obisidian's lovable naysayers and ne'er-do-wells.

Besides that I'm not even sure that we'll hit this goal

That sphinx sounds more 🍗🧀EPIC 🧀🥓battles than riddles. As in, for those who thought House at the end of fun was easy.

Don't really wanna be a naysayer, but aren't those guys committing themselves to colossal coding nightmare? Reactivity, mounts, HOMM minigames, evolving beasties? Also, LOL "Woljif Jefto"  Where does this dude think he is in, Star Wars?

The Sphynx sounds like a megadungeon, which would be great if they make it great. I hope we get more companion info, right now we got a Paladin, Monk Archer, Spellcasting Rogue, Witch, Shaman, and Oracle which looks pretty caster heavy. It's good that out of the six characters revealed five have clasees that NPCs in Kingmaker didn't have and I'd love to see a Bloodrager or Slayer companion.

Ended up backing it. I'm sure it'll be a bug-ridden mess at release but the "core" mythic classes coupled with each being entwined with the story sounds too juicy, plus the premise is fertile ground for some good stories. And it's a good excuse to dust off me paladin.

One of their KS updates is about their new AI system for detecting and fixing bugs. Whether it works or not is a separate matter, but clearly they are very aware of the problem and dedicated to and invested in trying to address it.

That's nice to hear. That said, it seems like a complex game under the hood, which means more bugs to squish. But we'll see. I certainly won't complain if the game has fewer bugs. 😛
