Lexx Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) I think it's better to buy Ubisoft games directly on Uplay anyway, because of the bonus money / points / whatever you get. Pre-ordered Anno 1800 already at UPlay as well, because why not... Steam would just launch the Ubisoft launcher anyway. Why does a chicken need a paycheck, its even bigger than some of the human characters. Anyways I usually hire Steven Spielberg and Michael Jackson for my properties, but the chicken is good. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Keyrock Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) Meh, I don't hate Ubisoft, though I do make fun of them a fair bit. To me, they're (slightly) less evil than the other super mega giga giant publishers, namely EA, Activision, and Take-Two, not that that's any great accomplishment. Ubi even makes good games, it's just that they keep making the same game over and over and over again across all their major franchises. The formula isn't even bad, it's just stale because they've put out so many of what is essentially the same game. And you know BG&E2 is just going to be another Far Assassin's Dogs. As for being Yakuza series fans, no need for shame. You can walk proudly with your head raised high. HoonDing Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Ubisoft last good AAAAAAA developer after Bethseda. 1 The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
SonicMage117 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Ubisoft makes the best open world games though, without them inspiring other developers to push the envelope. We likely wouldn't have games like Witcher 3 or other greats. In turn, Ubisoft bounces off these advancements which is why Origins is said to be spiritual successor to Witcher 3 rather than an Assassins Creed game. Additionally, I understand that both Watch Dogs games appear very like Assassins Creed mainly because of obvious third person, open world action/parkour but when you actually get your hands on it, it couldn't be more different. My favorite Ubisoft game franchise though, is and has always been their Rayman games, these are some of the most brainy and well developed platformers ever made and I don't think anyone else could ever do better with them. Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother? What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest. Begone! Lest I draw my nail...
Vitalis Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I'm also using my Switch way more than any other console since the GameCube (and that not only feels like but was half my lifetime ago). I still didn't play the flagship games for the console like Zelda or Mario as they seem crazy expensive to me right now, but I'll get them eventually. Yeah, you can... kinda wait. I've got both and haven't finished either so far. They're good games, sometimes even amazing, but there's something lacking. In case of Breath of the Wild that's easier to put a finger on, it's not Zelda enough for a Zelda game. Yeah, I bought it with my Switcn and i was instantly underwhelmed.

Agiel Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 https://www.pcgamer.com/bungie-splits-with-activision-keeps-control-of-destiny So EA next for Bungie? Would be quite a sight if Bungie wound up getting contracted to make new Halo games. Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. LittleArmadillo0 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 That would be interesting. Don't know if Sony would be interested though.
injurai Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 They could steal Xbox's lunch. Sony always had the better first-party titles, Microsoft held on with the better online services and momentum in the console FPS market. Plus Xbox always did well with multiplat sales. Well now that Microsoft is coming in hot with first-party investment, the surest way to steal some of the golden goose FPS crowd would be to launch the newest hotness. A brand new FPS IP with a heady name like Bungie behind it. Maybe even focused on a return to their from after Destiny. As long as Guerilla is pursuing a well earned reprieve from Killzone, Sony is in need of an FPS. Allegedly Santa Monica was basically making a sci-fi FPS which was almost identical to Destiny, and after Destiny was revealed Sony canned it. So they lost their major replacement for Killzone. Course Microsoft might want Bungie back, but they already have 343. Sony's probably in a better position to strike one of their "3 games exclusive" contracts like they did with Ninja Theory and Quantic Dreams.
Chilloutman Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 i don't care about Bungie at all, I just hope Blizzard take their stuff and leave as well, that is only hope for them 2 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Agiel Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Doom composer is hiring voices for a ‘heavy metal choir’ I would like to recommend that he get in contact with Dave Hunt of Anaal Nathrakh... ...and Lord Worm, formerly of Cryptopsy: 1 Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. Lexx Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 That still gives them plenty months to work on. Good, because the stuff right now doesn't convince me yet. Agiel Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Modern metal sure does suck None So Vile, the album from which the Cryptopsy track comes from, came out in '96 and is widely considered a landmark brutal tech death album, so probably would qualify as "Classic Metal."
