If it helps, my cat unintentionally scratched me while playing. The scratch isn't deep but it basically reads all the way down the arm so it's likely to leave a scar. I get scratches often but I always tell myself that I would much rather put up with the scratches than to declaw her.

 

My favorite is when I'm sitting somewhere and she jumps on my lap and gets ready to lay down, she punches in her nails and then something distracts her ahd her nail us stuck in my leg skin. I have to wait for her to remember that she's anchored/borrowed her nail into my skin. It's almost like a fish hook being in your skin - which I've stepped on one of those at one point by accident lol

Ouch. Is your cat rel. young? Mine also did that when she was young(er). She even jumped onto my back and clawed her way up when I was stitting at my desk. At some point she stopped doing all that stuff. So maybe you're lucky and it will get better.

Today I cut through the entirety of my fingernail (left index finger) while trying to cook lunch.

 

I remember the times when my finger didn't throb like a Deathtrash monster. Those were good times...

 

Ouch, you have my sympathies. Remember doing something similar myself, getting the knife stuck in the bone was the worst part.

Nice lol Mine's almost 3, we rescued her from a Wal-Mart parking lot where she was in an old woman's car engine, that was when she was probably around 6 months old. Til this day she is sensitive to noises like plates and she also hasn't been outside since that day (except for vet visits). She's very playful though

^  I have many small scars from cat scratches of many years past. Mostly gained while playing or while giving baths. Most of my cats were fairly calm with baths, just meowing loudly with the occasional squirm, but there's always those couple....

 

...was a thunderstorm this week. Seems to have mostly cleared up but last night the wind was howling like a banshee. The yard is now covered in what appears to be every single remaining tree-leaf (and one neighbor's palm tree section that the wind broke off). There might be grass/cement under there somewhere.

Yup. That's exactly how my cats behave if I try to give them a bath. I stopped giving them baths a while ago, figured it wasn't good for them. I just groom them daily.

I have many small scars from girl scratches on my hands. Don't ask me why, she liked it. Teen years were weird.

I remember in my youth when some friends and I were up late partying and we all started (loudly) comparing scars. Clothes were half-shed to show them off. Alcohol might have been involved.

Hope your hand feels better. I know I've burned myself far too many times doing stupid things. Last year I tested to see if my glue gun was hot enough to use, by placing my fingers on the metal tip.

I'm going to be spending christmas week in Las Vegas.

Since we have a fair few members who have visited the city of sin, any suggestions for what might be worthwhile trying to see?

Current plans so far is to do the stupid tourist hire a limo to tour of the city on the day I get there just for the hell of it and to see the general sights.

I absolutely love Vegas. Where are you staying? I can give you a pretty decent list of stuff based of than, but the big draw for us is:

 

1. Restaurants - Tons of amazing ones

2. Spa Day

3. Drinking spots

 

I'd recommend at least a day around Fremont Street. Go to the Container Park and eat lunch at Carson's Kitchen.

Since my sister is off with her fiancee this Christmas, when my father stumbled on a cheap offer to spend a week at the Luxor over Christmas week (fly out on the 19th, then flying back on the 26th) he decided to grab it.

So it's that sort of late age father-son trip.

Might also include catching a flight to day trip out to LA or San Diego during it as well.

Luxor is a bit of an odd place. Carrot Top is there, and he puts on a great show. The rest is a bit depressing, to be honest, but Mandalay Bay is super close, so make sure you have a drink at the top in the Skyfall Lounge. Too bad they closed the steampunk themed RX Boiler room recently, you would have dug that.

Which place has the ice bar? I enjoyed that

The Monte Carlo has an icebar.

 

Cirque Du Soleil has around 4-5 different shows in Vegas and they never disappoint.

PS I think weed is legal there now so if you or your father decide to partake and aren't regular users then please start small. We have so many people who come to Colorado and overdo it.
