Melusina Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 (edited) I never played with controller, but I think it's time to get one. I feel like I'm limiting myself to k+m without any reason. So, based on these titles, which controller to get Ghost of a Tale - finished with k+m, excellent experience Mages of Mystralia - finished with k+m Nine Parchments - finished with k+m Divinity OS 1&2 Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs Dark Souls 3 (maybe 2 as well) Trine series Hyperdimension Neptunia series Dragon Dogma DA Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning Songbringer Crawl Omensight Jotun Valhalla Edition Zwei Arges Adventures Transistor, Bastion (do these titles even play with controller, I got one free, but never really played any) Heroes of Hammerwatch Ori and the Blind Forest Rime Full Metal Furies As you can see, I got lots of different titles - searching through any community would take quite some time. So, if anybody played those titles, how they play with xbox controller and/or ps4 controller? Edited June 26, 2018 by Melusina https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33102093/ - Picky Gamer Girl!
MrMoe Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 (edited) I have a PS3 (console) and an Xbox 360 controller for my PC ( respectively for demon souls and dark souls... ) For me the Xbox controller is superior, its just bigger and more comfortable in my hands, even after long sessions Edited June 26, 2018 by MrMoe

Lexx Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I like my xbox 360 gamepad and find it good to use. I'm hating the one for the ps3 and try not to use it at all. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
HoonDing Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Any PS controller I ever had broke extremely quickly, especially X button. At least Xbox controller is robust. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Tale Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I've used a wired XBox 360 controller for PC games ever since Overlord released. It was the first time I ever used one. And it's worked comfortably anytime I've wanted to use a controller. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
SonicMage117 Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Xbox 360 and Xbox One are the most compatible cobtrollers on pc and this is because most games that are controller compatible are built around the xinput model. Drivers for Xbox 360 are also the main of any Windows system (Microsoft for Microsoft). I've been using one for 3 years and have never had a problem. Yes, controllers have their advantages. For ex, if your playing Super Meat Boy or Hollow Knight, you're just not going to get the natural precision with a mouse or keyboard, in fact you'll likely get a bit of cumbersome lag that a controller won't give you so there's that. The controller is more responsive for high demandong platformers, it's not just about comfort and some people don't realize that. You'll notice a HUGE difference for Ori and The Blind Forest. For Divinity Original Sin, if you're playing the enhance edition, it was built with controllers in mind so that's going ti feel alot more natural with a controller as well. Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother? What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest. Begone! Lest I draw my nail...
majestic Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I used to use an XBox 360 controller for my PC gaming needs. These days I'm using my Nintendo Pro controller (yeah it works on PC) for anything that doesn't need analog shoulder triggers. Unlike the XBox controller the Pro has a great D-pad... No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

Lexx Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 (edited) For me it's simply the position of the analog sticks on the ps3 controller, which I find way more comfortable on the xbox 360 controller. /edit: Well, and the xbox pad is a bit heavier at the center due to the battery pack. It’s all about hands. For me the most comfortable and precise control is complete opposite of yours. I just do not like the design of xbox, where you have one cross and one analog stick on the same distance from palm. Two analogue sticks at same distance means for me much better precision and handling. So, Melusina, the conclusion by me is: If you have friends with xbox and PS consoles or controlers, visit them, play for few hours some game with heavy input action needed. I would probably recommend some Soul game or fighting game, even if you never play them , and you’ll see which one feels more comfortable in your hands. Bad controller can cause even injuries after long hours of playing. Edited June 26, 2018 by Mamoulian War 1 Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. LadyCrimson Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 It’s all about hands. This. I also prefer (PS4) controller over xbox, because I have small hands and some hand/finger arthritis ... the PS4 just fits my hands and short finger reach much better and doesn't cause any thumb joint flareups from moderate-heavy time use, while the Xbox one cramps up my hands (the way you have to grip it doesn't fit my palms well so I tend to grip it a lot tighter) and makes my thumbs hurt fairly quickly. I also prefer the feel of the PS4 joysticks motion wise. I don't know why, I just do. So just depends on individual. “Things are as they are.
