Lexx Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Looks like what I've played on PC back in the days. 1 "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Keyrock Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Mercifully, Katphood didn't include any screenies that included closeups of characters. I can only imagine the faces are even more terrifying in 4k. 2 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Katphood Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 True. It looked way better on my old pc with the high-res textures...and that 'brothel mod'. There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.
Melusina Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 looks like something made in RPG Maker Read the reviews. Of course it's awful graphic, but at least it is still a good game. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33102093/ - Picky Gamer Girl!

sorophx Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Read the reviews. I don't read reviews. Game journalism died in 2002 as far as I'm concerned. If you mean user reviews, then I don't even consider those worth existing. 1 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. If you mean user reviews, then I don't even consider those worth existing. So basically you go into every game purchase without any information other than what the developer and publisher provide? That doesn't seem like a more informed way of going about things. I just tend to look for reviews that I can identify with. Most of the people here fit that mold, and rarely lead me astray.

That doesn't seem like a more informed way of going about things. I just tend to look for reviews that I can identify with. Most of the people here fit that mold, and rarely lead me astray. You can usually get a good general idea of a game by comparing the mutual points of more reputable game journaIists. I usually also look at the middling user reviews: 4 to 7/10, though it depends on how the other reviews average; those are usually the ones that try and list both positive and negative points instead of fanboying or hating on it without reason.
sorophx Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 So basically you go into every game purchase without any information other than what the developer and publisher provide? no, I watch youtube videos of people playing the game without commentary Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. melkathi Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 8 Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
Hurlshort Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 So basically you go into every game purchase without any information other than what the developer and publisher provide? no, I watch youtube videos of people playing the game without commentary How enlightened of you. Of course, I imagine those videos are made by reviewers and users, so maybe you do have a wee bit of reliance of game journalists and users in order to make your decisions.
sorophx Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 not if I don't rely on their opinions Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
Hurlshort Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 not if I don't rely on their opinions You still rely on their content.
sorophx Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I don't think we're on the same page. I don't consider reviews "content". user reviews are completely useless, because those users have no rapport with me. "professional" reviews are various degrees of terrible terrible, because gaming journalism is still in its infancy compared to, for example, film criticism (was there ever an English-speaking writer of Ebert's caliber among game journos?). Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Hurlshort Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 We are clearly not on the same page. Users and game journalists bring more to the table than just their opinions. You stated that you watch videos in order to make informed decisions on game purchases. Those videos must be coming from the publishers, journalists, or players. You are calling them 'completely useless' and 'terrible terrible' but you are still relying on the content they are providing. I don't think there is anything wrong with being critical of their opinions, but your hyperbole comes across as contradictory.
sorophx Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 welp, I don't think raw gameplay and reviews can be compared in this context, so let's just put a lid on it. Keyrock Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 That controller looks kinda uncomfortable. Keyrock Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 It's probably a mimic, look out! Don't worry. Blodhemn Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 no, I watch youtube videos of people playing the game without commentarySame. Best way to actually see if gameplay is worth putting any time into without being subjected to people selling their goofy, obnoxious personalities. 1
Agiel Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 (edited) Seaman Jones: Conn, sonar! Crazy Ivan! Capt. Bart Mancuso: All stop! Quick quiet! Beaumont: What's goin' on, Jonesy? Seaman Jones: Russian captains sometimes turn suddenly to see if anyone's behind them. We call it "Crazy Ivan." The only thing you can do is go dead. Shut everything down and make like a hole in the water. Beaumont: So what's the catch? Seaman Jones: The catch is, a boat this big doesn't exactly stop on a dime... and if we're too close, we'll drift right into the back of him. Edited July 10, 2018 by Agiel 4 Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling
