Hard to say the delusion is any worse than the crazy stuff that was being said about Obama. I mean, he was a Muslim foreigner working with ISIS to implement Shari'ah, after all.

Did you have opinion pieces in respectable papers etc saying so or just in right wing National Enquirer/ Drudge Report type places though? Business Insider is not the best regarded, and Betteridge's Law of Headlines applies (ie no, he didn't commit treason, as anyone who doesn't have their head up Hillary's bum on the payroll of Shareblue could tell) but still, it is pretty mainstream and not pure outrage trolling like Vice etc.

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of it is that the only thing Trump has done that has earned near universal praise is to chuck tomahawks at Syria, which is an utterly dreadful lesson to teach politicians.

Don't blame me. I voted for Johnson.

That never gets old!

Trump could fellate Putin sama in front of the entire world (well, which he kinda did) and not lose a single voter.

And the best part would be all the heat the mainstream media would get from LGBT for homophobic remarks if they criticized him for it  :wowey:

Nah, because if he'd be appropriating their culture.

Trump is walking back his denials of Russian... whatever they did... (still don't see how hacking the DNC is interfering with an election but whatever). The problem with walking back things you said is it sounds even worse than when you said it.

Imagine a candidate whose ticket to Congress, Party Leadership, and ultimately higher offices is all but punched. All she has to do is STFU and not screw it up. Can't seem to pull it off though: https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/07/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-embarrasses-herself-on-firing-line/

To be fair to her, she's new to Congress.

Not yet she's not. she will be in about 6 months.

How's this idea? We eliminate the Presidential elections altogether, No more voting for President. Every four years we take all the names of all the serving Congressmen, Senators, Governors, & Lt. Governors, etc and place them in a lottery pool. They must have served at least 6 years in an elected national or state wide office, and have no criminal record or ethics violations to be eligible. Then we pick a name from the pool at random. That person serves as President for a single four year term. Then in four years we do it again.

If someone really, really wants to be President, odds are they should not be. MAGA!

I probably wouldn't go as far down the line as lt. governors though. Also, if we're going to do that, we might as well go Parliamentary system as it achieves basically the same effect. Though I wouldn't trust the Republicans to not change the rules at the first opportunity so that only the party in the majority can choose the Prime Minister.

Not that outlandish to consider that, would make sense for anything you give to the President or any government official of import (even if it'll be chucked into some archive someplace) gets checked out thoroughly as it is a good means to sneak something malicious in.

That roughly concludes the syllabus of errors. The fresh face of the Left was far from impressive. She has been carried this far by sentiment rather than by her command of the issues. While that is the vogue today, she’ll have to study harder if she wants to avoid being dismantled by a knowledgeable conservative in the future.

the irony is off the charts

Yes, Im sure the honorable Ms. Graham is totally ate up with fear of Russian spies. Or, alternatively imo, she fishing for a tweet to whine about something...anything...at all.

Well broken clock and all.  Pains me to know that Trump's spawn is an Arsenal fan too. Then again so were Castro, Bin Laden and Gaddafi.

The hell are you blabbering about?

Most likely referring to one term in the Senate, which is 6 years. Might have been better to say ‘at least one term in office’ rather than a specific number of years.

He was floating an idea that the President should be picked at random and those are the minimum qualifications to be put in the pool.
