  1. I really liked Ex Machina and Annihilation, so I'm interested in this one greatly.
  2. Eh, that's not really a challenge. 327 episodes at ~44 minutes per episode is 14,388 minutes of programming, but 20,160 minutes in a two week period. You should be able to get 6 hours sleep a day and accomplish the mission. Wake me when they try and watch Dark Shadows in two weeks (1,225 ~25 min episodes) and its only 6 years of television!
  3. Based on the article, he isn't terribly picky and likes younger men too. Yeah, its a vast scale to think of the events he 'lived' through (even though generally speaking he wasn't actually there, its just that's a lot of history). I also thought it was fascinating (dunno if it was this article, or another I read on him) that the reason so many of these Tortoises were given as gifts is they were easy to keep alive and they were stackable. the idea of a ship's hold stacked with turtles is just wild.
  4. I thought Jimmy Carr's whole shtick was being borderline offensive and dancing around the line.
  5. Lets discuss the topic. Neither the sartorial splendor of our various outfit choices nor our decisions regarding where to post or things like that are the topic of this thread.
  6. Yeah it was an awkward capture from an awkward piece of animation. At least they didn't make it look like Sandra was ogling his crotch in the split scene. Oh...wait a minute...
  7. My niece gave us a recipe for apple-chicken curry some time ago, but my brother who is not a fan of chicken decided this time to substitute paneer for the chicken. It was an alright substitution to me. He loved it as he didn't have to eat chicken. My dad ate it and said it was okay, I'm not sure he's ever been much for curry though.
  8. Supēsu Kobura aka Space Cobra aka Space Adventure Cobra Episode XI "Suna no Wakusei Zadosu" aka "Zados, the Sand Planet" Naturally, things don't go as smoothly for Cobra & co when they get to Zados... All the pieces are in place for this story-arc's finale, a final confrontation with Sandra where Cobra doesn't dare pull out his psychogun lest the Ultimate Weapon copy and exceeds it's power.
  9. Jack Reacher is the really tall one, apparently (if the comments about the Tom Cruise Reacher films are anything to go by).
  10. Translated with an online translator, so I make no claim to accuracy, as I don't know the language personally.
  11. Some interesting newspaper articles about the story here - https://flashbackdallas.com/2015/02/20/carhops-as-sex-symbols-1940/
  12. Thread split off. Old thread:
  13. New thread -
  14. But Goldberg didn't say the Holocaust didn't happen, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Other than that, Zoraptor gave a better illustration of what I was talking about vis a vis my understanding of Goldberg's statements.
  15. Percussion instruments generally get a "Neutral Clef" which looks like || to indicate that its not indicating notes or tones but rhythm (the exceptions being percussion instruments like the timpani or the xylophone). Maybe some ideas to practice on here to bring up your cymbals game for next time...?
  16. Alto Clef / C Clef gets no respect. Well that and its mostly used just by the viola and mandola these days, so Treble / G-Clef and Bass/F-Clef get all the press.
  17. 𝄞 ≠ 𝄢 ≠ 𝄡 Does that help?
  18. We are, you don't understand my point. I reiterate that the point she made is not the first time I have heard that point before from other people, and I don't think it has to do with selective history as much as it is a very different interpretation of European history particularly in viewing things that some (particularly Nazi's) might see as "racial" as being "ethnic" instead. This isn't to argue the view is correct, just that I think it has to do less with ignoring parts of history than having a completely different view on certain foundational concepts. Note this isn't unique to this situation; I can't tell you the number of times that vastly different groups in other regions of the world are lumped together with no concern for the actual nuances of their history, culture and political divisions for the groups involved.
  19. Hmmm, wonder how long this lasts after the 1st Muslim student brings a case up regarding some teacher talking about Christmas or Mardi Gras or something in school...? I'd imagine pretty much everyone's view of history is selective. We can't remember everything, so we remember the bits that resonate with us. Note, I do not think that Whoopi's statements are due to selective history as I've heard other African-Americans express a similar opinion - that a lot of the bigotry (and resultant actions) in Europe (whether an extreme like Nazis vs Jews and Roma, or just various governments treatment of Irish, Polish, Italian, Basque or other emigres) isn't fundamentally the same as what befell Africans.
  20. So Washington...Commanders. So they're using the ol' WC, eh? ... ... I guess I can't talk, the Falcons are af.
  21. Think we're at .549/therm or .599/therm fixed rate for 36 mos.
  22. Well people who make a lot more helpings of food than me in the imperial system, obviously.
  23. The local stations seemed to be going crazy over the Brady retirement rumors over the weekend. It was like a major sports superstar had never retired before.
