  2. THE GREEN KNIGHT for me. Visually arresting and a solid adaption of the source material, imo.
  3. I'd be curious to know where he got these numbers. I'm not an expert, but numbers I've seen online indicate the Pound (15 shillings is .75 of a pound) was worth about $4.35 in ~1850, which means Cratchit was being paid about $3.26 a week, or in a 40 hr work week 8 cents an hour or $169.52 a year. He probably was working more than 40hrs in a week though... Anyhow, that means Cratchit was being paid about $130.40 a week in today's dollars, or about $3.26/hr in a 40 hr work week (or $6,780.80/yr).
  4. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay worked on STAR TREK BEYOND, not INTO DARKNESS, and as I understand it had been script doctors for years, primarily. Other cause for concern besides parting with the Tolkein advisor is that Amazon apparently required extensive reshoots after the pilot was done as they changed their mind on a number of things.
  5. It's probably going to be fairly likely all productions will opt to have this position, as the consultant is supposed to make sure the actors and crew are all on the same page with what is being done and what is being filmed.
  6. Spending more time on something I'm not enjoying doesn't seem like winning to me.
  7. I've quit. I may come back to it, but I hate the platform game level design that has just ramped up in the castle section. I'm finding the up-down, get blown around level design to not really be fun, worse than the last level. I took a few days off to see if a fresh take improved my feelings, but it didn't.

  11. Oooh, I forgot the Bluray for Future Boy Conan was to come out this month. Will have to track down. Will be trying to catch up on Cobra, so may be able to add Conan too.
  12. Author Anne Rice
  13. RIP Masayuki Uemura, the lead developer for the Famicom/NES and Super Famicom/SNES.
  14. I read Phantom Blood. Haven't gotten around to the others yet.
  15. I can't judge it, the local station that had the rights to air it from syndication aired it on random days of the weeks at random times (mostly, though, Sunday morning at somewhere in the 1-4 am range - they loved getting syndicated shows and burying them at night so other stations couldn't get them and run them opposite their local news programing - shows like Bab5, DS9, Hercules, Xena, Mutant X, Earth: Final Conflict, Jack of All Trades, Cleopatra 2525, The Lost World, Starhunter, etc) so I have seen very little of it. I think its because another station got TNG and ran it against their Saturday evening news show and clobbered it. I've probably seen less than 10% of DS9, and that mostly from the first couple of seasons. ObTopic: I've probably seen less than 10% of JoJo as well.
  16. I still remain unconvinced there's any Star Trek shows since the Animated Series (and I'm on the fence on it).
  17. Tell me you're mad about not having more games that you liked in a year without telling me you're mad about not having more games that you liked in a year. Also, from the article: No it doesn't. If that's the authors belief, then they have a very, very narrow view of fantasy.
  18. Ah, I hadn't used it because I thought it was consumable and I never saw another for sale. That either wasn't explained well or I misunderstood it.
  19. Yeah, I keep forgetting I have the Return Pillar. Might have been easier for me had I recalled that. Lol.
