  1. I also prefer Star Wars to Empire. Keyrock, you might be the only person I've seen who prefers Gremlins 2 to the original.
  2. I've always ranked Terminator and Alien as better than their respective 1st sequels. And boy was that opinion controversial not long ago (not as controversial as disliking Up! and Wall-e was not long after they came out, though - egads people got hostile over that opinion). I don't remember much about the Matrix sequels, but I wasn't over-enamored with the first film.
  3. I didn't realize things had changed so much. Back just a decade or so ago, suggesting that Aliens was not superior to Alien and that Terminator 2 wasn't better than Terminator was some sort of fan-heresy of the highest order. Did everyone get tired of James Cameron all of a sudden?
  4. They seemed to forget reel-to-reel and cassettes...?
  5. Its a bit from Devil May Cry 5, the game being played. That character is Nico, the weaponsmith.
  6. That's the next thing I need to do, but I'm clearing out the few remaining Minman before trying to tackle him.
  7. It's a weird feeling knowing your terrible team has a shot at the playoffs. I guess it's better than being eliminated...
  8. Yeah, he was a tool. I took a couple of tries to beat him - had a decent party but kept getting slowly wiped. Finally I crushed him. I need to merge me a Thoth - just got a few levels so may be time to play merge-o-mania.
  9. TNG Interface The Enterprise sees 100s of unique, one-of-a-kind events over the course of 7 seasons - and yet not enough for any of Geordi's friends to believe he saw anything, much less his mother*. 'There's no proof', they say. Except when Geordi disobeys orders and Data matches the anomalous sensor data they denied existing to new data as Geordi talks to his 'mom'. What? Why did the alien masquerade as his mom in the first place? Why is Troi yet again shown to be incompetent as a counselor, not listening to her patient and only offering pop-psy platitudes? Why do Geordi's pals refuse to listen to him or look at the data and at least entertain there may be something more than Geordi refusing to believe his mom passed?? The command crew get such latitude except when the story needs them to be stick-in-the-muds. And who greenlit hiring Ben Vereen to play Geordi's dad and then relegating him to a video screen rather than letting him be there in person? What a waste of a great actor. This episode is pretty rubbish. *This is literally LOST IN SPACE level plotting, where whatever weird thing Wil or Penny saw is dismissed by the adults despite the fact that they'd encountered things just as preposterous the previous weeks of the show, and also typically first seen by Wil or Penny.
  10. Got knowledge of tools - definitely one worth investing in.
  11. Weird, I use mustard (with a hint of horseradish in it, no less) and find I can still taste whatever else is on the sandwich. I only use mayo on BLTs...
  12. The tall pole is the stacking spindle. The record player you describe sounds like the one we had with the extra piece for the 45 with a large hole.
  13. Georgia didn't have a hate crime statute on the books when the men were charged. They were, IIRC, charged in May and the Hate Crime law was signed in June 21. Difference between Malice Murder and Felony Murder is explained by a local station: https://www.11alive.com/article/news/crime/ahmaud-arbery/malice-murder-felony-murder-difference-ahmaud-arbery-death-trial/85-d13db692-cff9-4b4d-be73-5eba5ae22054
  14. AHHHH, that would explain it, I did talk with Huang Long (I'd actually talked to him before, but wiped right after that and just realized last night that I'd never went back and talked to him). I haven't left the first area - I didn't play any Sunday or Monday and you were already ahead of me then. I'll check and see if I have that miracle yet or not, if not I'll keep an eye out for it. I think I have more than one Gospel though, but I'm hanging on to them as well.
  15. Jukeboxes are made, but are expensive ($11,000 or more) so I think you're looking for a record player with a stacking spindle. Unless I'm corrected, I think the last stackable model released in the US was Crossley's Stack-O-Matic range, discontinued in 2010. Dunno, international record players. I've heard some of the 2000s era players with a stacking spindle would have a drop in speed while the new record was dropped and started playing; I think vintage versions didn't have that problem ( at least I don't remember the early 60s record player my mom had having any performance issues when dropping a record and starting playing it but this may also depend on make/model). A stacking spindle would usually allow you to put in 5-7 discs, typically to start, and you could add records as they dropped and finished so could get through a few records before needing to change the whole stack. Obviously, could only play one side at a time. Apparently people felt like they could damage the record (despite the fact that records since the 50s were manufactured with a raised label area and edges that would prevent the record resting on the groove part of the record below) so they fell out of favor. So unless there's an international record player still using a stacking spindle, you'd have to be looking for an older model.
  16. After my whack&walk, I had plenty of money for minman locations, plus some compendium fusions. Seems like I've leveled up enough to change some of the monsters I find as well, as I'm finding Mitama on the map (yellow and red) and ran into a Genbu that I don't recall being there before.
  17. I think UK's recognition is a step towards requiring ethical slaughter for food animals before cooking or preparing for consumption. So it'd eliminate tossing a lobster in the pot while still aware.
  18. Bryan has been charged, and is on trial with the McMichaels. He tried to get a plea deal but it was rejected. Most people I know have little sympathy for the 'citizen's arrest' defense since they apparently never declared they were making a citizen's arrest when they tried to stop Aubrey nor did they actually witness a crime to which declaring a citizen's request would make sense. That the elder McMichael was an ex-police officer who'd worked for the district attorney, there's a general feeling that (a) he should have known better than to chase after him in a half-assed vigilante manner and the (b) the old boy system tried to protect him and his son by squashing the initial investigation. But not being on the jury and hearing the evidence an arguments, its hard to say what actually will happen.
  19. Had an early Thanksgiving dinner with my oldest brother and his wife. A great amount of food was had (roasted chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, rolls, dressing, baked slices of potato, sweet potato, butternut squash, acorn squash, cauliflower, broccolli, carrots, corn-on-the-cob, and finally dressing). Dessert was pavlova, which I'd never had before and was quite good.
  20. I sometimes have demon compendium OCD. Didn't get to play much yesterday, due to social obligations, so still haven't finished my wander.
  21. Tell us what you really think about the Falcons, lol. Oh and they got whacked by the Patriots this week too. So much for that "are they actually better than we think?" moment a three weeks ago.
  22. Supēsu Kobura aka Space Cobra aka Space Adventure Cobra, episode 3: "Shukuteki! Kurisutaru Bōi" aka "Archenemy! Crystal Bowie" This episode starts what seems to be a mini-arc We get an interestingly weird villain and an adventurous direction for Cobra and Lady Armaroid to follow.
  23. William Bryan is alleged to have participated in the events leading up to the shooting (specifically, he joined chase/rundown that the McMichaels initiated although he didn't know why they were chasing Aubrey and allegedly hit Aubrey with his truck as a part of that chase); during the actual shooting he was recording the incident on his phone.
