Fallout: New Vegas
I hated dealing with food/drink/sleep in old skool games, so I'd be loathe to advocate its return. The "feeding mechanic" in Mask of the Betrayer is one of the reasons I never finished that game. If I want to die of starvation, I'll play Oregon Trail, thankyouverymuch.

You mean Kali because Shiva is a man. I think a lot of the Hindu deities get portrayed as multi-armed; I've seen four armed pictures of Saraswati and of Lakshmi, and Mahu Saraswati represented with 8 arms. I think it usually represents the deities connection with other deities who represent different aspects (or incarnations?) of the same being.

LOST season six
We know that the Dharma Initiative could get on and off the island pretty easily, so we don't actually know if Horace and Amy conceived Ethan on the island or off the island - Juliet seemed to think this was an important distinction (and Alex and Aaron so conceived and their mothers all survived the childbirths). I don't think anything we know allows a conclusion one way or the other.

Jamie Foxx (born Eric Marlon Bishop) took his stage surname as tribute to comedian Redd Foxx (born John Elroy Sanford) who in turn took his stage surname from Jimmie "The Beast" Foxx, Philidelphia Athletics/Red Sox 1st Baseman from 1936-1942 I'm so into you Thanks for the compliments. Is that good or bad? Also, minor correction The Beast was with the Athletics/Red Sox from 1926-1942 apparently.

Don't know about the first GoW, but about a year ago I played a little bit of the second game at my friend's house (which was fun), and I just watched the first 15 minutes (2 videos) of the third one. Looks like an epic interactive movie, can't say for sure without playing, of course... Guess you don't like hack & slash... I love Hack & Slash games, to be honest. But GoW just...I mean I love games in greek mythology, I love bashing buttons. I'm not so keen on jump puzzles, but overall I SHOULD have like GoW. But I never felt involved and after the novelty of the gore and nudity it was like...no reason to keep playing. He kills a couple of heroes (Which is par for the course) And, of course, sleeps with Aphrodite. Still they should have spent more time making kratos seem a BIT sympathetic at the beginning of the game. Why are you discussing the story? Just look at the gore wave your tongue and forget about the plot holes. Ps.On GOW IV you tackle hindu mythology with over 100,000 deities to kill. Have fun. After he killed them, wouldn't they just reincarnate?

I never finished the first GoW. Thought it was a terribly boring game.

Movie Re-Make Thread
Arguably this change started two-three years prior to FISTFUL OF DOLLARS as Michael Carras' 'Savage Gun aka Tierra brutal introduced a different take on the American tradition often considered the prototype for the Spaghetti Western. A British-Spanish coproduction it featured a anti-hero gun-for-hire (played by Richard Basehart) and was the first to use Almeria, Spain as its location (where many Spaghetti Western films were made). That said Fistful of Dollars clearly is what popularized a particular type of western in Europe and changed how the US saw and made westerns (although, even there people like Sam Pekinpah had began changing the western in the US famously fighting both US TV and film producers in the late 50s and early 60s)

I'd remake the Dark Crystal as a short film where the gelflings are destroyed quickly and efficiently by terminators. They're not remaking the Dark Crystal, but there is a sequel in pre-production...

Fallout: New Vegas
I wondered about that too, since the Button Gwinnett wig essentially seemed to show the engine could do ponytails for example. While short hair for men and women were "in" in the 50s, it seemed odd to leave out the ubiquitous ponytail (could have used some poodle skirts too but that's neither here nor there... ) I dunno, I could see critical failure doing damage to the weapon as viable in an action game ("not only did you miss with the sledgehammer, slamming it into the ground damaged it"; "your gun jammed!" etc.) but I don't think its something I feel strongly should be there (and probably not really something worth the time to add it, IMO).

I'd disagree, but then I didn't feel any of the episodes were filler.

They said before the season started they'd only answer the questions that were important to the characters.

- Texas school board changing the curriculum
In this day of computer technology, its possible to mitigate the problems caused by Texas' nonsense by schools that don't want to teach Texas' version of the curriculum. So while still an issue its not the same as it was 20 years ago.- LOST season six
I've never expected to have all the answers from the show, so I guess that's why any dangling plot ideas or unexplained bits don't bother me in the least.- Fallout: New Vegas
That protectron thing really annoyed me as I was going to show Big Town how to repair robots for their defense, but the damaged bots I was supposed to repair actually went flying into the air - I never did find where they went. Later wave after wave of ants killed the protectron outside of Megaton and I walked outside once and off it went flying.- Movies you have seen recently

I'm quite fond of this show personally. I thought they managed to make a pretty fun action show. Am glad its returning but apparently its getting a Friday 8 (death slot) next season (which also potentially puts the two tv series based on DC comics characters against one another, Human Target on Fox and Smallville on CW assuming CW doesn't move Smallville).- LOST season six
Smokey wasn't randomly destroying the jungle he killed the Captain of the ship (just like he did with The Black Rock); my guess was he was trying to do specific actions - taking out people in leadership positions, scaring and confusing people - to maneuver himself to a position he wanted (just like he did with Alpert and the Black Rock). We don't actually know why Smokey responded to Ben's call, so we can't really say there was ever a real intention to have smokey be a security system. The Others having superhuman strength could come from having access to the temple (which several people have said changed people). As far as the well goes, we don't know how many times in the past this stuff has been repeated, how many wells created and destroyed. Certainly its implied there are more than one. What was the exchange from "The Incident"? Something like MIB-"I'll end this again" to which was give the reply from JACOB-"It only ends once; everything else is just progress".- LOST season six
I agree. The writers of Lost trifle with philosophical topics far beyond their comprehension, trying to give the show a "theosophical" ending, or whatever. I was under the impression that show was intended for an entirely different audience, seeing as how they fill it up with time travel and all sorts of geekish topics. They should get John Boorman to write the script for them. I remember his interpretation of Thomas Malory's description of Merlin's cave in "Excalibur"; "Here you enter the coils of the Dragon. Here my power was born. Here all things are possible and all things meet their opposites." They should've introduced their "glowing cave" 3 series ago, not two episodes before the ending. J. They did introduce it - in fact I think it was at the end of season 3 or 4. It had a donkey wheel attached to it and Locke was supposed to spin it to move the island but Ben did instead. That's what MIB was trying to do in the well before The Mother went all Norman Bates on his people (ha-ha!) to tap into a way to control the power in the glowing cave (MIB even pulled a bit of the rock showing the glow just to hammer the point home).- TV: Heroes
First season finale killed it for me as well. Not only was the resolution lame but that they had Silar survive just pissed me off as a viewer. My brother got frustrated with the "each season is about bringing the group together, again" sometime in the third season I think.- A game influenced by the ideas of Nietzsche
