HMS means Her Majesty's Ship so that feels like a no to me. I'd say there shouldn't be a "the" in the ship name but it should be added before the ship name when used in dialogue. Though with the combined creativity of this corner of the internet, there surely will be very unorthodox ship names that will sound not just weird, but grammatically incorrect when prefixed with "the" in conversation. Not even sure what would happen with a noun for a name. Captain of Defiance? Captain of the Defiance? Pretty sure we still want the "the" prefix for noun names...

I'll tell you how else it should work: not at all. Unless my memory is failing me, early in PoE1 you either used your paladin as the Watcher or forgot about Faith and Conviction entirely. The level growth was added later. While I doubt they would revert to Watcher or nothing, I'd still like to be sure what the mechanic is for merc paladins.

That would be poor, poor game design. I really doubt they do. These pets have almost entirely sentimental value, and for some players that enriches their game experience significantly. It would be such a let down for players who love those pets but aren't great at managing their economy to have to leave them where they found them, abandon them because they can't feed them... lose them to starvation? I made my previous post for the sake of the joke, so don't get the idea from that. In the gameplay video with Josh from last week I sure don't recall them feeding their pet when they rested - and the pet you have equipped is actually more than sentimental since you get some minor buff - so I don't see why they would need food on the boat. And lastly, consider all the pets you could get in PoE1. Most were cats and dogs, but a tiny animat, what do you feed one of those?

So this morning I had: - Too much time - Too much hype - Too little information (in multiple senses) Combining these ingredients resulted in a spreadsheet, the source of its data being the wiki and not the beta. There was some conflicting information but I think I managed to get the right numbers. One thing that still strikes me as odd is how notoriously hard it is to buff Sleight of Hand - two classes (of which rogue isn't one) and no backgrounds have bonuses for it. I also don't know the exact mechanics of Party Assist, but assuming you will want to specialize your characters this spreadsheet aims to give you an overview of how much of a "headstart" you get in each skill with various class/background combinations. Multiclassing is supported, but what isn't supported for now is the background bonus of some companions/sidekicks as they have custom ones and I don't know their effects. I warn you again that this could be entirely wrong since it's based on the wiki, which may be outdated or may become outdated before release, as things might change. Also, anyone who spots something being wrong is free to edit and re-upload the spreadsheet of course. Nerds might notice that the multiclass tables aren't actually used - I made them not realizing I wouldn't need them. Also, Google Docs and I don't get along, so it's a download and not an online document. It's made in OpenOffice Calc, not MS Excel, but I saved as .xls and nothing exploded... Get it here. The link will only work for a month, but I expect it will be outdated before that anyway. Hell, if you get along with Google Docs better than I do, feel free to put it there. Update: While I saved the original spreadsheet as .xls, it didn't actually support Excel. It should now (thanks Barbedbeat). Update: I saw from stream that rogue starting abilities changed. They now have +2 Sleight of Hand. However as Cohh didn't scroll down I couldn't see what the last line of the new setup was so I don't know what got removed, but I'm going to assume they lost Insight, because the alternative is them losing Mechanics. Not only do we consider rogues the de facto trap handlers, and not only would it mean that only ciphers would have mechanics bonuses otherwise, I also think the distinction between Insight and Streetwise is blurry anyway.

Right now, I'm gonna say if the game is released before we have all the codes it'll feel like we didn't really get there. The 55/55 feels like a second release date, and one that should precede May 8th. My incomplete code collection, and all that, and all that... But, I expect one hour past release, I'll be either too hyped with the game or too angry about some bug to pay any mind to lacking one or two of these rewards. Know thyself! ^^ P.S. If you check the progress map you'll notice the ship seems to be sailing straight through some islands. I guess there are a lot of fissuremen on board! ...I'll see myself out.

I think the smooth/feisty/etc voicesets for PoE1 characters create a fair degree of personality. So they'll have their own responses and a quest that might tell us what matters to them... or what messes they get tangled in. Sure, it leaves a bit to the player's imagination, but it's still far from a tavern merc that you didn't have to pay for. I think sidekicks are a good idea: In PoE1, if you want a priest for your party, you better like Durance or you better hire one. You want two priests for your party, you'll need to hire at least one. And for mercs you have to invent everything yourself to give them personality. The more sidekicks (or companions, if we disregard the money issue) there are, the more party compositions we can experiment with without resorting to complete mercs. Of course fully fleshed our characters are cooler to have, but how many sidekicks can we get for the price of one companion? Especially considering companion production costs scale linearly since every companion needs to interact with every other companion. Going from 1 to 2 companions is 1 added set of interactions, going from 2 to 3 is 2 added, from 3 to 4 is 3 added...

Ehehe, funny I never asked myself that. But after some thinking, and then some googling, it seems there isn't really much difference, if any at all. Might be we just started saying DLC when we started [legally] downloading games rather than buying physical copies. MIGHT be that DLC's aren't necessarily a continuation of the original. White March doesn't continue PoE1. It's done during it, or not at all if you like to throw away money. Whereas Brood War continues where vanilla StarCraft ends, Cataclysm follows Wrath of the Lich King, and The Frozen Throne follows Reign of Chaos. Yeah, I play a lot of Blizzard titles So this makes WM1 a DLC to PoE1, but WM2 an expansion to WM1, while still also being a DLC to PoE1. Did that make sense? I hope not, because it doesn't here.

Just a historical point. Christianity wasn't anti-natural philosophy. They were in fact large funders (the biggest at several points) of it and much the the technology and science of Europe saved during the Middle Ages was by priests and monks. The church vs science thing came after the time period poe is roughly set in. Of course the Pillars gods want knowledge hidden Not all of them. The only ones that make a huge deal about it as a general thing are Wael and Ondra. The others mostly just don't want it known they're animantic constructs and some are willing to risk that knowledge spreading simply because it's in their nature to do so (Abydon, Galawain, Magran). I don't know Magran seemed pretty on board with Woedica's plan. You may be right about the other two though. Abydon is progress right and wanted to save the Engwithans? (though that may have just been because he liked old traditions) I don't know enough about Galawain. Galawain supports it because animancy is a hunt for answers. Abydon supports it because knowledge enables improvement, and improvement is the goal of kith in his eyes. That's how I remember it anyway, but Magran's stance is a blank page to me.

Before! They're three super hyped up intro tutorials. - Learn search mode and find one secret! (The Disappointer Mk II) - Learn combat by left clicking one wolf! PotD: Your skills as a commander will be tested as you are forced to make another party member attack another wolf. - Learn movement while dodging stray spells in an epic duel between Ninagauth and Minoletta!

You've made one post ever, and it contains two codes? I feel so worthless.

It's a threat in the sense that it can lead to kith finding out the gods are fabricated, which is why the Leaden Key try to sabotage animancy everywhere, but common people oppose it because they're scared of what the soul dabbling might lead to (or think it has led to - Waidwen's Legacy). Still, you can find out yourself at Teir Evron that the gods themselves don't oppose it, or at least I remember the Galawain/Abydon/Magran trio not opposing it. More importantly though, I don't know that PoE paladins necessarily follow gods to begin with. They're just zealously devoted to a cause or ideal.

In PoE1 I've played caster heavy parties and melee heavy parties before ultimately discovering a very tanky setup that outlasts, outlasts, outlasts, and that's now my favorite. I'm looking forward to experimenting with multiclass combos to create something similar in PoE2. Hopefully there will not be two of a kind in it.

Seems a bit too evil to hide a code somewhere in a 25 minute video. Nevertheless, I expect when we only need a few more, some of us will be going through it with a magnifying glass. ^^
