  1. I received an email from Paradox on March 27 stating "your swag is on the way", and a USPS tracking wotsit. I'm in Australia so it still has a bit of a walk to get here and apparently I may not see stuff till April 9. That's fine; it's good to know it's on the way. The backer portal still lists my stuff as "shipping soon" rather than "shipped" which is odd, but maybe those systems aren't hooked together. It may not be a trivial thing to accomplish. However, if you haven't received an email from Paradox maybe contact Obs support through the backer portal. Just check your email spammmmmszzzz folder first tho. Just in case!
  2. And? And post elsewhere. Hence the thread. I just exchanged a bunch of posts with Justin Bell in a thread about the soundtrack. POEtracker reveals other devs and QA testers are actively responding to bug reports, too.
  3. I thought the Kelsey BG2 mod featured really good voice-acting. This, however, is a really ill-thought idea. It would be great to eventually see some Kelsey-style mods for POE.
  4. If it's any consolation, Tinderbox, I found Hard indeed pretty hard before I picked up Eder, and I wonder if I have a stat inflation bug. I'm running with a wizard PC using the story NPCs, not custom ones. I think the real issue for me is that my L5 Eder has, I dunno, over 100 deflection I think, with his "Defender" skill enabled, in Fine Breastplate, with a +16def shield and a minor ring of deflection. I've heard some talk about a bug making stats too strong... I wonder if I've got that, though I'm not sure how to tell. Anyway, he alone makes most encounters easy for me. I just wade him into the middle of almost anything semi-level appropriate for my group, and I believe I could go AFK and if the fight was still going 10 minutes later, he'd still be around 100%, with his endurance regen making up for what tiny damage he might take. Now the other group members feel better balanced. The Paladin Pallegina feels about right for how I think a tank should be. She can go up against nasty things, but not in the carefree way Eden does. She'll get hit and take damage, which means I have to think about tactics over and above "let Eder tank everything while others plink from range." Of course someone could say, "just take the shield away from Eder and don't use his abilities!", but I don't like that kind of artificial difficulty so much. Now having said all that, there have been exceptions. Like the teleporting shade guys - those encounters feel "hard" to me, because they like to teleport over and beat on the weaker wizard. Takes good tactics and creative use of abilities. Anyway Eder feels so imbalanced that I wonder if I've got the stat inflation bug, because it sounds like it isn't like that for folks like Tinderbox. What did all your Eder chars have for deflection at L5? I just looked: Mine is 111, with the above equipment and Defender mode. My L5 Eder is M 16 C 16 D 11 P 11 I 13 and R 18 for 62 Deflection with the Pilgrim's Lasting Vigil helm, the Ring of Minor Deflection and the Larder Door. I'm still using the Saint's War Armour but buffed it to Fine for a total of DR9 and gave it a +1 to Resolve too. Ooops, I forgot to check if that's with Defender mode on. I think it's with it off. The R 18 seems a bit high. That might be inflating but I've got at least +2 Res from stats so mebbe not. Everyone else's deflection is in the 35-45 range. For context, I just barely beat the Endless Paths lvl 3 boss last night. I had Aloth kiting round hurling scetper blasts at a near-dead Zolla while everyone else had been flattened. I fought that battle three times for about 40 mins a pop trying to figure out the best strategy with loads of pausing. I'll take it. Then I thought I'd visit the Searing Falls after that -- got fried quick smart there I tell you. I don't think I'll be going back before levelling -- the sheer numbers are too overwhelming right now.
  5. Tags work perfectly Justin. Thank-you! Edit: I grabbed the FLAC files btw.
  6. I'm still getting wiped out; I must be really bad at this. Are you all running custom-designed NPC parties?
  7. Yay! Looking forward to this. Does that mean we can grab it from the POE backer site now, or should we wait there as well?
  8. Doulble-speed stealth seems close enough to walking for me. I use that as a proxy for it.
  9. This was answered like 6 times in this thread. It's only mechanics And mechanics dominates because it has, by far, the best combat and non-combat benefits of the all the skills. I'm investing in Lore for the dialogue options. Being able to talk my way out of things is part of my character. And stealth because I like to scout a scenario as much as I can before committing to something that might rebound and bite me on the arse.
  10. There's no way Obsidian could do this. It'd be an abrogation of their kickstarter obligations.
  11. I'm playing hard and got wiped out twice last night on the Endless Paths of Od Nua level three boss fight. My six-character party is level 5/4 though so I'm not certain whether I'm pushing the envelope too much or simply not being tactically astute enough.
  12. I've played 44 hours now and the only one that I've encountered is the Raedric's Hold bug. There are workarounds for that. It seems that folks have found the more nasty bugs that are going to mess with your gameplay experience and for the greater proportion of them, there are workarounds or avoidance techniques. If you're really keen, and know how to be cautious, you can probably play and avoid the problems. I don't know much about the savegame corruption/deletion thing some people are reporting tho. ps. there's a random bug I've encountered once where you kill something and it slowly pinwheels off the screen in a crazy limb-distorting way. It's hilarious and has to be seen to be believed. (I actually kinda love it tbh).
  13. Berk is a real word, and used regularly in certain places (which given that you're using 'favour' and 'utilising,' you've made me sad). That said I agree, natural language (even if anachronistic) flows a lot better than a dime-store's worth of purple prose dribbling from the lips of drunk renaissance faire hacks. But I've seen a fair bit of profanity just in BB vids, to the point that if someone found it immersion breaking and upsetting in gangland Berlin slums, better back away from this game right now. You guys know that it's rhyminmg slang, right? Berk --> Berkeley/Berkshire Hunt --> Oh, just some word that rhymes with Hunt. Stunt or something. Very cunning!
  14. I'm a real fan of the Cipher. I know it's not psionics, but it kinda has that flavour and I've always loved psionics conceptually. So it's great to see something similar implemented. The Paralyse effect is one of my go-to strategies to control the battlefield. I probably should use treasonous whispers more, too. I kinda want to put her up front, but she's not really tough enough for that I think.
  15. It's a little washed out, but the sharpness/readability seems to match that of my NWN and IWD cloth maps. I guess I'll find out firsthand soon enough.
  16. There's a thread with lots of people unable to transition out of readric's hold. The screen goes black and CTD sometimes. Unless they had a save before they entered a certain part of the hold, they're pretty much screwed... You can use an area transition cheat to get out. I teleported out into Gilded Vale and was able to progress on from there.
  17. Not sure if this counts as spoiler so tagged just in case. So in all, I'm enjoying the way that kill-XP has been adjusted. Diminishing returns makes an awful lot of sense to me too: it's pretty elegant.
  18. It's not easy to position to use Fan of Flames well without frying your own folks in the process. You have to flank and get fairly close (or drop your wizard on the frontline). Once I've accidentally fried my frontline by not getting it right and I've also found my wizard getting in trouble after deploying it as well because foes decided to target him. And in narrow spaces/dungeon corridors it's often just not practicable at all. If you did want to frontline your wiz, i guess you could combine with the easier escape from engagement talent and the cloak that does the same. Could be fairly brutal against a fast-closing horde, then hide behind a higher-deflection ally.
  19. I encountered the Raedric bug, escaped and I'm still playing. It's annoying, and I'm not going back there till there a patch, but it hasn't broken my game or stopped my from playing. I'm in Defiance Bay now having since then claimed the stronghold, finished a couple other minor tasks and hit lvl 5. I'm enjoying the story immensely.
  20. I use last.fm to scrobble everything I listen to, and would also love official track names, numbering and artist details for the OST. I want it it all scrobble correctly to my last.fm account.
  21. No use asking here; your request is just gonna get lost. Go email product support I suggest.
  22. Huh. On Hard, I had precisely that occur in the first set of ruins. Two camping supplies to collect but I was only able to pick up one to add to my supplies (maxing out at two in total) and the other remained in the "loot this thing" container. Maybe there's a bug? *notsure*
