  1. It's patch 1.3.0 that broke it, someone who got to level 30 before the patch (and the level cap changed to 40) reported that it did get the card feat as expected, it's since patch 1.3.0 that it give (wrongly) a power feat. The bug has already been acknowledged by the devs who confirmed that a fix is available, but we now need the patch to get it. Of course, if you have a character who you think would benefit more from a power feat than a card feat, you can simply level it to 30 now, the fix is not supposed to be retroactive you will get to keep your additionnal power feat (but will always be short one card in your deck compared to what you should have)
  2. Well, I will have to occupy myself by going to see my friends this week-end to finally finish playing with them our physical version of adventure 6 of the Rise of the Runelords campaign then, ha the things that we are reduced to do ...
  3. As I posted on another thread, I think that I remember something about the dev having added a few cards in a patch (I think that it was for 1.3.0). If so we can probably expect some additionnal cards for when they add deck 4.
  4. didn't the dev mentions that they added a few additionnal cards in treasure chests with patch 1.3.0 ? I was under the impression that the cards like the net or the reveler where simply among those new additions.
  5. I find that XP slow down at mid level (10~15) but that you starts to get more at higher level for some reason. 4 games to get a level or maybe even 3 is closer to my experience near level 25-30. I have however not really player above level 30 much due to the bug of the wrong reward at level 30 meaning that alsmost all my characters are currently waiting at level 29 for the next patch.
  6. Thank you, i didn't realise that the in game store had a release date for deck 4.
  7. My only two legendary cards are the amulet of inescapable location and the slaying bow. I think that it's clear from all the reports that not all legendary are available yet.
  8. Of coursed it will depend on what character you play, if you have a power that allow you to recharge or discard any card for an effect, then keeping to card to fuel this power instead of recharging or discarding a more useful card might be worth it On the whole, the game is probably the easiest with 3 or maybe 4 characters, as it give you a nice range of different character to cover all kind of locations and have a use for all boons. 5 or 6 characters is harder as you *must* make sure that each turn count, and 2 or 3 is less risky, but can leave you sometimes with some specific locations or banes where you have no ideal character to manage it. Also, before discarding a blessing or ally to get an additionnal explore, always make sure that you still have at least some way to deal with a henchman or villain should you happen to find it (for exemple by having a weapon or attack spell in hand, and maybe with at least one or more blessing held by other characters to support you if needed), as well of course as having a good chance to close the location. There's few things worse that encountering a henchem during your very first exploration, kill it, and then fail to close. In that case, it's usually a good idea to leave the location to another as you won't be able to close it permanently without having to explore the whole location deck, and only come back at it later after having closed enought location that you can eitheir close it temporarly when encountering the villain, or when you think that the villain has fled to this location.
  9. And if deck 4 is not planned to be released soon, could we maybe get some bug fix patch, there are a few that are really blocking now. With the wrong reward for level 30, I have stopped playing quest mode, having the fix released would give me something to do again while waiting for deck 4.
  10. You're not supposed to be able to access the vault at will, the only times when you can access to some cards is when you create a new character (and only with basic cards), or when after a scenario you don't have enough cards of a specific type in your whole party to cover the cards types needed (like for exemple after having banished an item to close a location and not acquired any other item during the same game). Cards in the vault are simply the pool that is used to fill the location decks each game, that's how you're suppose to get new ones. Or did I misunderstood what your problem was ?
  11. I rather like making lini into a decent melee fighter, with the animal bonus of 1d4+X, even her normal d4 STR is enough to kill weak monsters with any weapon, and she always has the option of discarding to make her STR die a d10. Add the static bonus from a magic weapon and maybe put one or two skill feats in str, and suddently you're starting to get a nice static base bonus. I love using a magic scythe with her : STR die d4+1 (one skill feat) Weapon bonus : +2d4+1 Animal companion : +1d4+3 Total : 4d4+5, with all 4s counting as 5 (the scythe power is not limited to d4 from the weapon), so 9-25, with an average slightly above 15, and this is only for revealing cards in your hand, not even recharging anything. This will also benefit greatly from all characters that can add a d4 (Lem or Valeros in same location, or our beloved dwarf ranger from any other location), as well as some of the orbs found in treasure chest (a nice flamestorm orb for +2d4 ? Yes please) Of course this will be hgarder to increase with blessing as the base die is only d4, but that's when you use the animal form.
  12. Lini is a perfect location closer, thanks to the bonus she get by simply revealing an animal ally. Lem can do something similar if you go for virtuoso (or he can help any other character before that)
  13. For major cure, I think that it's the same bug as with augury : the additionnal heal happens, but if you cast outside your own turn, it probably targets the active player instead of the caster.
  14. Yes, it's a known problem, i have already reported it in another thread, and a dev commented that they already had a fix that will be included in the next patch. It seems however that the fix will not be retroactive, so if you didn't select your rewards yet, I would adivse that you quit the game and wait for the patch before going in quest mode again (launching a quest will put you back at the start of the reward step if you left before finishing it) I have a lots of level 29 characters waiting for the patch now ... Of course, Some characters might find getting an additionnal power feat as useful or even better than a card feat, but for some others like poor lem it won't be optimal (yeah, armor prof. !)
  15. I didn't get any legendary with the 40 chests, but after selling some duplicates and buying a few additionnals chests with the leftover gold, I got the amulet of inescapable location (or something like that), a nice item that let you search for monsters in the top 5 cards of your location and put them on top in the desired order. This is only the second legendary card that I got (first one was the slaying bow)
  16. Note however that you can cast eloquence first before exploring, so that if/when you later in the turn get to cast another spell you will get the bonus.
  17. That's one reason why I usually prefer armors to shields. However, note that most of the time with a shield or armor you will want its protection against pre-check damage, like the scout ranged damage or the like, and in this case as those damage are not part of the check itself, you can still use your shield, it's only if you failed a combat roll with a two handed weapon that you won't be able to use the shield for the damage of the very same combat roll.
  18. Yeah, for now if you get a wildcard of type "bury one card when you acquire X", it is advised to simply forfeit and try again, the heroic and legendary versions of this scenario are already hard enough with the henchmen damage so they don't need this additionnal problem. Especially when the damage comes before you get to try closing the location, sometimes leaving you unable to do so.
  19. One thing to note is that a lot of character that might seem to be not worth much with a weapon can greatly benefit from having the ranger in the party, his ability to recharge a card to give 1D4+X to any combat chek on another location can make any character with a decent weapon able to handle weak to average monsters without needing a blessing, and make handling strong monsters or even villains possibles with some sacrifices.
  20. With melee at STR+2 she is surprisingly effective, even more so when against undead. Once you give her weapon prof. and a pair of decent melee weapon, she start to do nicely against most opponent. Granted, it might take a while to get her to an acceptable level, especially if you first want to level up her wisdom so her spell recharge is good enough, but i managed by pairing her with lem, as his bardic ability give her the small push that she might miss. Those two combined have also enough heal ability that I usually use them as blessing and support spell machine, they don't care if they must discard a card, it is usually healed soon enough. With lem being able to echange any spell for one in his discard, I don't care too much if he fail to recharge his only cure (sometimes I even hope for it so he can cast it again the next turn), and Kyra has her healing ability has a fall back in case her only cure fail not recharge or is simply not available when I really need one.
  21. Why does it break the rule ? You still only played only *one* armor card on the check, you simply used two different powers of the same card. Or was it question of a different armor being used on the check that the snakeskin armor gave the +1 ? In that case I would agree that it should not be allowed.
  22. Yes please get us a bug fix. Currrently quest mode is bugged at level 30, giving you the wrong reward (power feat instead of card feat). This bug is supposed to be fixed for the next version, but the fix is not retroactive, so currently I have several parties at level 29 waiting for the patch so I cannot play quest mode anymore.
  23. I got the exact same problem, it was not against Nuala, but it was also with valeros and against a Villain. I don't remember who was the opponent, but I'm sure it was another villain with two checks, as I remember getting the bonus back for the second roll. Note that it was with Valeros as a weaponmaster with the close quarter power feat. I didn't use the feat on this check as I had a melee weapon anyway, but I remember having used another character bow or crossbow to improve the check from another location, maybe this is linked to the close quarter bug ? But it might also be a coincidence.
  24. Yes the Into the Mountains d4 damage has already been reported as triggerring with the "on acquiring XXX bury 1 card" wildcar scenario effect, it is advised to simply forfeit and start again if you get one of those scenario widlcard.
  25. There are a few other exceptions, mainly some villains or henchmens. For exemple in one scenario of adventure 3, there's a brainwashed ranger that you must defeat with diplomacy. Some villeins can also be defeated with the appropriate skill as an alternative to combat (the necro can be defeated with arcane, some undead villains with divine, and so on)
