  1. I'll definitely finish out the season. One thing I didn't like was them stealing the trephining scene from Master and Commander. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For lack of a better way to do this, I'm quoting the statement that started this off topic discourse in Shadow's original thread. Have fun arguing over kiwi accents. Dammit.
  2. Okay, Shadow, I've split the topic. I can't really comment on Rome, not having seen it. That's too bad, since I'd undoubtedly have a lot to say about it if I have. The thing to remember is that it's primary goal is to make money for HBO. It's meant to entertain, not educate. For that reason, I wouldn't scorn it for rearranging, deleting, or modifying a few facts.
  3. Okay, I guess I'll do some more TOMBS reports. Who all needs one again?
  4. lol, Baley. You doofus. I'll have to think about this one and post another lyric later. Thanks for keeping the thread going. This is probably my favorite thread in the place.
  5. Persephone was sweet and chaste. That's not a very good description of our Gabrielle, is it? At any rate, off to BBQ. You folks behave and don't sacrifice anyone to each other. Play nice.
  6. Now now We enjoy members old and new, young and old on this board. If you make a comment, you can expect one in return, but no one is going to chase anyone off these boards. Some heat, a stray flame, but no wars or vendettas around here. As for Drew Barrymore, I think she's a little hottie and would never want to feed her to a shark. She's not classically beautiful, but she's got that girl next door aura about her.
  7. I have a secret, fellows, this is project New Jersey. Yes, that's right. It's Project New Jersey, the Online Collectible Card Game! Now, you and your friends won't need to worry about a suitable rig or a great video card! As long as you have access to the internet, enough time to make friends (and even enemies), and a desire to take punishment from others, you will have access to the next big thing in online gaming! Submit your pre-orders today while supplies last!!! Gromnir will get his card, and Sawyer might get one as well. I'd just rather put Gromnir, Sawyer, and the mods around the same time. The "expansion pack" as it were. :Eldar's HUGE grin while contemplating the next big thing in online gaming icon:
  8. Hostile much? I doubt this get offical sanction <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ha, you read my mind!
  9. hahaha This is NOT an officially sanctioned card. hehehe
  10. Then again, you come from near a place were they riot because of bad calls by a ref in a football match <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AHA! Touche. ...But it's not nearly as bad in Denmark as it is in the UK. "
  11. kumquatq3 kumquatq3 has an attack of one kumquatq3 has a defense of one kumquatq3 is a
  12. Mothman, go for it! meta, pure genius. Comedy! hahahaha. Oh man, my wife thinks I'm crazy because I'm sitting at the computer laughing so hard.
  13. Okay, so who all wants a card and who's doing the cards? Any card anyone does in this thread is hereby officially sanctioned. Including the new Hades' One card by Servant of Eru. I'm really looking forward to moderators' cards, but I'd like someone else to do them. I've already got a card! heh heh
  14. You're absolutely incorrigible! :madr: :D
  15. booze is legal because it's virtually impossible to enforce making it illegal. The last time the government tried making alcohol illegal, it was pretty bad. I think the problems enforcing prohibiting alcohol would dwarf the problems we have with enforcing other drug laws, even meth.
  16. I don't think it is. They're not a game developer, your comments are informative, and it does suck. I'll look over the guidelines to see if I just got myself in trouble.
  17. Just do what I did. Move out of the house but have most of your dinners at your mom and dad's place. That will save you some cash which you can then use to buy booze. Next bit of advice, don't buy booze, it's a waste of money and hard on your liver.
  18. My rants are almost always the result of some euphoric, nostalgic, insanic feeling that comes over me. I very rarely have an angry rant. Mostly, I have what you might think of as tangent. That's what this is. :D What's remarkable is that the event that gives me an excuse to voice something lurking at the back of my mind has, twice in a row now, been related to you in some way. GAH! Get out of my head! hahahaha Seriously, I like making the cards, but I think Mothman should do yours. Not because it's tough to make the card, but because you're part of the "rabid fangirl" set he started with Darkside. In fact, I think Mothman should do the whole "rabid fangirl" set.
  19. Awww, are you trying to tell me you want a card, Commissar? :D
  20. ugh. Anyhow, this isn't a real game, is it?
  21. I was getting ready to create Darth Launch's card and something interesting happened. ***Warning*** I'm about to invoke my "bore them into submission" power. ***Warning*** Anyhow, when I write up a card, I go back and look over the member's old posts. I almost always have a rough idea of what I'm going to do before I start looking over the old posts, but I get a better understanding of folks by reading anyhow. At any rate, I had a thought about what I was going to do, but I had to stop. Did you know, Darth Launch joined these fora on March 15 of this year? Did you know that DL's first recorded post is on April 27 of this year? How about you, DL, do you remember that? Do you remember your first post? It was in the "M.Tims Fanart" thread. March to September. That's... six months. Doesn't it seem like so much longer? 861 posts as I write this. Servant of Eru joined on February 11, 2004. He's an old hand at this forum thing. He has 2,382 posts at the time I write this post. His first post was the same day he joined. It was in the "Poll: What view would you like in Project X?" thread. metadigital joined on November 29, 2004. 6,183 posts as I write this! 6k posts, meta? wisdom, silliness, laughter, and anger in there somewhere, I'm sure. Pages and pages of material. Darth Launch will get her card, but I have to take a little time to ponder the number of people who come here and the amount of time we spend discussing things. I guess it might be a waste in the end. ...But, then again, who decides what time is wasted?
  22. Once upon a time I was given a choice between going to alcohol rehab or facing a court-martial. I chose rehab, at the tax-payers' expense, and thus stayed in the service and out of prison. When folks talk about the dangers of Marijuana, I get a laugh out of it. From what I've seen, marijuana is no more dangerous than booze. Considerably less so, in fact.
  23. Fair enough. I'll answer that. Speculating, in an obviously humorous manner, about throwing celebrities to the sharks is different from saying, "Hey, let's assassinate the President." Moreover, even if you did write, "Hey, let's assassinate Garth Brooks," there wouldn't be nearly as many angry folks sending PMs and emails regarding the incident. Moreover, there is infinitely less chance that the secret service would be interested. You see, on the IP boards, some fools would joke about assassinating the President. Then some hot blooded fools started taking this seriously and writing things that were meant to be taken seriously even if the fool in question meant them as jokes. Finally, we actually did get complaints. YoP was closed and the boards themselves almost went out the window. So, I will take a bleary view of citing the President specifically. Nevertheless, if I get the impression folks are going to get all serious and start calling for celebrities blood, I'll close this thread. If a member comes out and says something like, "we need to kill Sally Fields," then I will give them an unofficial warning. In all cases I'm going to use my discretion. So, I put you on moderated status, but I have been very careful to put your posts through whenever I see them, including one that questions my decision. Please send other questions regarding my decision to me personally. I don't mind PMs. I actually try to answer them quickly and honestly. Now, back to speculating on sharks' eating habits. Anyhow, I already said I didn't want to feed anyone to a shark
  24. Master and Commander was a great film, swine-hearts. Oh, and I probably won't watch Rome during the season, but if it still comes highly recommended, I'll watch the first season DVD collection. I hardly ever watch T.V. I listen to music mostly.
