  1. Oh, if you think I spam here... you should see the supar secrat moderators' forum! Anyhow, I have a feeling this thread has gone the distance. If you'd like to take a hand in the community, shoot ol' Fionavar a PM and throw your hat in the ring.
  2. Normally, I would task you guys to get back to the topic. I would have to say that this seems more like thread evolution to me than thread derailment. Unless there is a hue and cry, I'm going to assume the sharkbait aspect has played out and we're on to the substance behind the messy business of feeding folks to the sharks.
  3. Swine, quit spamming the age poll topic with your anti-Eldar meanness. You'll give me a complex and derail the thread. hahaahaha. :D Okay, you'll give me another complex! Anyhow, the poll stands thusly: 48% under twenty-one and 52 older. So, to even the playing field, we need to either change the parameters of the poll, or bring in some under twenty-one folks to fill up the ranks. Of course, the poll is actually pretty even. I would say it's rather unfair to lump the entire over twenty-one crowd in one category.
  4. That's right. I can do a TOMBS report for you. Hey, Mus? wants one also. TOMBS doesn't care how old you are!
  5. Ha! I say, "Ha!" At any rate, you're not getting off so easy. Are you part of the old crowd, or one of the whipper snappers? Ah, I stand corrected. A whipper snapper then! bwahahaha. Well, still, we've got a pretty good spread on these boards between youngsters, oldsters, and ancientsters.
  6. The devil on your shoulder doesn't tell you to do something evil. Folks by and large want to do the right thing, even if they're unsure of what the right this is. No, the devil on your shoulder has something far more insidious to say. He leans over your shoulder and whispers in your ear. There is nothing you can do, so do nothing at all. It is said that all it takes for evil to win is for good men to do nothing. Don't be the good man doing nothing.
  7. Oh, no. Be like meta and try to add something to every discussion. Of course, meta is a bot, but that shouldn't make a difference. Say, you aren't a bot, are you? ...And did you let us know how old you are?
  8. This is why I stopped liking Demi Moore. She's probably smart and all, but I saw one too many interviews. Vacuous.
  9. HAHAHA Oh man. For the first time in ages, I have a new sig.
  10. Wow, I only lurked for two weeks. Welcome anyway! It's great to have a new face around here, especially with so many active posters falling back to lurking, or worse, disappearing altogether. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> twenty minutes was my lurking time grand total... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been lurking over a year... How incredibly sad... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have been lurking unheard, but not unseen. I've noticed you standing in the shadows. It has been my hope that you'd join the fray. I'm glad you have.
  11. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Most mods get paid by taking on a larger role in the community. I've always been a pretty bad moderator. I'm a much better member than moderator of the community. Still, I'm glad to have had the chance to "work" with Fionavar. We proabably don't deserve the guy. Do you realize he's been a moderator for BIS/IP/Obz literally for years? Hydrogen is another one who's stuck it out through thick and thin. Now the rest of us, as much as I respect my fellow newbie mods, just aren't in the same class. It's not just doing well for a while. It's being dedicated to the group. We'd just better hope that Fionavar never gets sick of the place. The boards would continue, but they sure as hell woudn't be the same. /Rant number 2,300,304,203
  12. Ah, fresh bloo.... I mean, happy to have a new member! Take off yer hat, pull up a chair, and grab a sasparilla.
  13. Heh. Okay, so moderators aren't perfect. Actually, I am perfect. I was just using the opportunity to make a point. Anyhow, if you'd like to be a moderator, I'd suggest writing to Fio. ...Or you can suggest a replacement.
  14. That's only there in threads that you have made yourself, so you have the option to decide if you want to delete your own thread, doesn't happen with anyone elses but your own threads. It would be quite hilarious if you could have it with other's threads though . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That explains why I've never seen it. According to Eldar I've started all of 2 threads. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Two pages, doofus. Two pages
  15. HAHAHAHA. Gorth, when we first met, you were the master and I, the apprentice. Now, I am the master!
  16. Yeah, I agree.
  17. I took Lucius to mean, "how could the American public elect him twice." As in, he has already been re-elected.
  18. Folks who think Iraq was a mistake will undoubtedly take any opportunity to blame the war for all variety of things. *shrug* They'll torture logic to the extent that it 'proves' their point. That's just the nature of politics.
  19. Damn, I had some time and stopped by the ol' vamprpg channel. No dice. I had fun during the time that I played. I don't know if I'm playing the right way, but I'm having fun anyhow.
  20. ...And, because Jeremy is too depressing for me, I'll relate a song that brings good memories of happy days with my wife. Lady in Red -- Chris DeBurgh I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight I've never seen you shine so bright, hm hm hm I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance They're looking for a little romance Given half a chance And I have never seen that dress you're wearing Or the highlights in your hair That catch your eyes I have been blind The lady in red is dancing with me Cheek to cheek There's nobody here It's just you and me It's where I wanna be But I hardly know this beauty by my side I'll never forget the way you look tonight I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side And when you turned to me and smiled it took my breath away And I have never had such a feeling such a feeling Of complete and utter love, as I do tonight The lady in red is dancing with me Cheek to cheek There's nobody here It's just you and me It's where I wanna be But I hardly know this beauty by my side I'll never forget the way you look tonight I never will forget the way you look tonight The lady in red The lady in red The lady in red My Lady in red I love you...
  21. Jeremy -- Pearl Jam At home Drawing pictures Of mountain tops With him on top Lemon yellow sun Arms raised in a V Dead lay in pools of maroon below Daddy didn't give attention To the fact that mommy didn't care King Jeremy the wicked Ruled his world Jeremy spoke in class today Jeremy spoke in class today Clearly I remember Pickin' on the boy Seemed a harmless little **** But we unleashed a lion Gnashed his teeth And bit the recessed lady's breast How could i forget He hit me with a surprise left My jaw left hurtin Dropped wide open Just like the day Like the day i heard Daddy didn't give affection And the boy was something mommy wouldn't wear King jeremy the wicked Ruled his world Jeremy spoke in class today Jeremy spoke in class today Try to forget this... Try to erase this... From the blackboard.
  22. One of these days, I'll have to share my political views. I'd have to do so as an alt account, though, so folks would feel free to flame me and I would be able to flame back. hahahaha. (just kidding) I would hate to give myself a warning. I've only had to give warnings twice on this board, though, so maybe not so much flaming. As far as the debacle in New Orleans goes, I don't think the whole thing can be dropped in Bush' lap, but he is the commander in chief. He gets the fancy house so he can take the blame. That's simply how it works. Sometimes it's unfair, but you don't run for President of the United States in order to find fairness in life. The feds made some mistakes, along with the state and the city. It was a learning experience for a set of circumstances that really only occurs once every hundred years or so. For that reason, I think the next time something like this happens somewhere, the feds, state (whichever one it is), and city (likewise) will once again be caught off-guard. Won't matter if the Republicans, Democrats, New Whigs, or the Free Pot party in power at the time, either.
  23. Yeah, that's what I meant. The computer players don't trade strategic resources to me, no matter how unbalanced the deal is for them. I just think the Civ 3 design team wanted to create a "braggart's paradise." Sure, it's all great to beat your chest and brag about how well you play, but I'd rather have a game that let me trade with other players and explore at least a little while before it came to outright warfare.
  24. It's not a matter of being first. The computer offers ridiculous trades. It's ridiculous trying to get a decent trade, and many times impossible, even if you are not in first place. Getting resources from the computer is laughable. Even making excellent offers gets the player nowhere. You're forced to fight for everything, even if you wanted to play a more or less peaceful nation. At higher difficulties you will be forced to fight often.
  25. Michale Chu had a blog of some sort going for the details of his experiences at E3. His webpage had a statement to the effect of "send me a message if you'd like to get my blog." I sent a PM and never received anything. So, even when the Obz guys have blogs, they don't want to share! Ha, for all we know, the Obz gusy are a bunch of blog writing fools! On the other hand, maybe they're busy working on current projects. If that's the case, I don't if anybody gets a blog. Maybe, after NWN2 hits the shelves, we'll see an Obsidian Tuesday every week. hahahaha Seriously, Guildmaster said he's been busy working on stuff. We haven't seen many designers here discussing things. I have a feeling there won't be a newsletter, but I'd love to be proved wrong.
