  1. Come on, the first line is about driving his car into the ocean! At any rate, if you've got the money to buy an expensive car, you probably have the money to have it fixed when it breaks down. Right now, the wife and I are driving around in Ford Mustangs, but I think I'll go for something larger and more comfy the next go 'round. I'm 6'2". I need something roomy. Not necessarily Land Rover big, but big enough to where I don't have to stoop to get into the car.
  2. It wasn't meant exactly as an accusation. I mean, it could have been something like "have one for me, whippersnapper!"
  3. Good Lord, do you ever stop drinking?
  4. Getting the land rover right now isn't in the cards anyhow, pixies. I mean, I don't have the kind of resources to get a land rover without giving up something else, and I like my something elses too much. So, kid, what's your dream car? I'm curious, especially in light of your love of "Wave of Mutilation." I want to know what kind of car you'll drive so I can get the hell off the street.
  5. Whether they stole the idea from Nintendo, were too lazy to implement it before, or are going the route of cheap gimmicks, it seems to me that the important point should be the fun factor for the consumer. Now, if every game must ship using such a feature, which really doesn't impress me no matter which system uses it, then I suppose that's a legitimate beef. ...But it really doesn't matter why Sony decided to develop the system. It only matter that it works out well for the consumer.
  6. The VW comercials are insultingly stupid. I couldn't care less about the car, but the ads are enough to drive me away. I've always been fond of the Jaguar. No, not Jag u ar. Of course, I'm not a big car fanatic. Still, if I had enough money that I literally didn't mind throwing some away on a really expensive car, I'd probably get this one: http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/Vehicles/Ne...nk__Thumbnail_1 Why? Because Susan Cooper, in one of my favorite series, has the characters ride around the Welsh countryside in a Land Rover.
  7. This game is one of the best games I've played in a long, long time. Wait, this game is one of the best games I've ever played. It's well written. The graphics are sharp. The gameplay is entertaining. The voice acting is good. The full review will have to wait until I'm done. As yet, I don't know how long that will be, but it must be close considering what my contact told me.
  8. Ah, that could work. I might try that on my next run. I did manage a couple of missions where everyone I killed was an accident. I'm tempted, although this is just one of those weird things, to try to kill everyone with the shears on the New Life mission. I think Sawyer said that you get a tag for that also. Funny.
  9. Good question. I got "the Undertaker" tag for the Mississippi mission. Of course, that was just a practice run where I smote a whole bunch of folks out of irritation. I'm on the shiek mission right now, but the most irritating mission, by far, was the Mississippi mission. I finally ran into some room and this ridiculous looking fellow told me to take a cake to the boss-man. It was, if you'll pardon the pun, cake after that. I got my SA and continued.
  10. Ah, it's not so bad, Diamond. It's hard, because you're not supposed to necropost on one hand but you're supposed to use the search feature. That and Dark Raven looks good in black. At any rate, one of my runs was really heavy on spell casters. I also recall using an elvish barbarian/sorceror. Wait, that was IWD2.
  11. I used to listen to a lot of NWA back in the day. I had a friend who listened to nothing but gangsta rap. Too Short, Ice T, Dr. Dre. Ugh. I didn't even like the stuff, although it really did get you in the mood to be all macho.
  12. Great article.
  13. I like Bok's widescreen arguments. Basically, Pixies, you're helping make his point. Widescreen is probably superior, but I'm just not willing to shell out the cash for something with minimal uses right now.
  14. You're map [m] should give you red targets. Plus, the optional targets are dressed in different colored robes. I didn't get SA on that one, though. I accidently used two methods to kill one of the other people and so had something like three accidents and one kill. Oops. I accident too many. I didn't think it would give me more options than victims, but one of my targets went in to sneak a drink from a bottle of booze. I followed him and then figured I'd just poison it. I'd also sabotaged something that killed him first, which meant there was an extra poisoned bottle of booze.
  15. Okay, I can understand the folks who say it's only about the games. I happen to be one of the folks who looks at the system as a whole. ...But why is it such a bad thing for Sony to put something new in their controller? If they can do it, and it enhances the gaming experience for folks playing their games, why not? I mean, if Sony does complain about Microsoft, who cares? Microsoft, Sony, and even Nintendo complain about each other all the time. It's like a feeding frenzy in the Sharks' tank. If Sony is running around making stupid comments, then they're just acting out the part all these console manufacturers have written for themselves. Frankly, their comments regarding computers and why folks should buy their "more than a console" system are far more damning than this fluff.
  16. I don't know about the Loony Toons movie. I mostly played Hitman while she watched it. Thank goodness for good headphones. Millers Crossing is one of my favorite movies. I've introduced my wife to some real classics. What a deprived child. She hadn't seen Bridge on the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia, or Groundhog Day if it weren't for me.
  17. Pixies directed me to the real movie thread. :Eldar's giving pixies a bemused smile icon: So, my wife forced some sort of Loony Toons w/Brendan Frazier movie on me. Then I made her watch Millers Crossing. Finally, we ended with the Quiet American.
  18. Well, I'm in my expert run right now. Just a sec, I have to laugh for a while about the Bok's tallscreen. :Eldar's full blown guffaws icon: Whew. Okay. Anyhow, I prefer watching movies in widescreen, but I'm just not onboard with computer gaming widescreen... yet. At any rate, I started playing on pro, but I needed practice at certain things. I could do the whole Vintage year mission, but getting the chop at the last minute when I took out the son sucked. However, I've got the hang of sneaking up on folks and grabbing or sedating them. I can do it pretty consistently now. Once I'm done with this run, I'll go for pro.
  19. Talk about the movie, or the thread gets it.
  20. Oh, have fun with it anyhow. I deserve it.
  21. Oh. Click! is the name of the movie. Great. Lack of sleep is taking its toll.
  22. What a couple of doofi. The question is, what impact will Shar have on the design team? As long as they don't start sacrificing forum members, I'll be okay. For a serious moment, Sawyer used to give all sorts of interesting hints in stuff like that. I doubt it's the case here, but you never know.
  23. I'm listening to Wish you were here -- Pink Floyd which follows Chorale from Easter Cantata -- Bach
  24. Clerics are popular and powerful characters. I think NWN generally favors fighters more than mages. Clerics combine the best of both for the NWN environment. I haven't played NWN in quite some time, but that was my impression the last time I played. Druids can provide an interesting class in DnD, especially with spontaneous summons. However, I don't believe NWN follows the spontaneous summons rule and druids seemed a bit nerfed to me. However, that's completely off the cuff, since I didn't play a druid during my runs. Whatever you decide, come back and tell us how it stacks. BTW: That's almost exactly my choice as well. Mage types and then maybe a fighter/thief combo.
  25. I'm on that mission right now. I managed to finish the Crow mission with a Silent Assassin, although it involved a lot of running around not knowing what the hell to do. At least it didn't penalize me for time or restarts.
