Playing on Pro is extremely irritating. For example, I managed to get professional rather than silent assassin on the playboy mission even though I had no witnesses, no camera, all accidents, and one shot that broke the bottom of the pool. Even though no-one saw me. I then went on the irritating riverboat mission, my least favorite, and got The Ghost rating. I was so irritated on that one, I kept knocking folks over rails. I had 10 kills, seven of which were accidents.

HD Copy Protection Workaround Discovered!
Cantousent replied to karka's topic in Computer and Console
Sorry, guys, discussing various methods of pirating (movies, games, audio tracks, etc) is just off limits on these boards. For what it's worth, I know you guys were deriding the method, but still, don't want a big thread here discussing it. However, let me just say, hahahahahaha the prtscrn method. Wow. -
One of my faves was "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

God, I loved the original x-com. I even loved the buggy, same as the original sequel.

Yeah, but this thread has turned into a discussion of the beatles, so no big deal. :Eldar's toothy grin icon: Not only that, but I've been listening to a lot of Beatles this morning to celebrate Ringo's bday.

Starship Troopers was an entertaining action flick, but it pales to nothing beside the book.

What Music Are You Currently Listening To?

The Long and Winding Road -- Beatles -
I rather like Paul McCartney. Some of his stuff with Wings is good music. Swine. On the other hand, I think Lennon is over-rated. Some good songs, no doubt, but nothing that deserves the sort of strange worship that exists in some quarters.

Sgt. Peppers is one of my favs. For the benefit of Mr Kite -- Beatles -
He most certainly is. Just look at the album cover. Actually, Paul is alive but, at this point, wishing he were dead. He's not going to have a happy birthday this time around, I'm afraid.

Looks like something my garbage man would drive. I mean, it's probably awesome, but I want at least a little style also. My neighbors would haul out the trash cans every time I drove into the 'hood with that thing.

The fab four are only the troubled two now. Happy birthday, Ringo.

Use mkreku's bikini line. That's a winner. BTW: I've just read the TADS poetry thead. You swine!

I was going to argue against your points, Hurlshot, but it occurs to me that I've got a laptop and three desktops in my house. It's not exactly like I've ever had to do with just a laptop. If you can go both, then I can say it did well for me. If you have to choose one or the other, then maybe Hurlshot and Lancer have better insight.

Do you use miniatures and hex/gridmaps?
Cantousent replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
We sometimes use miniatures, although I tend to use dice more than anything else unless the battle includes more than 15 or so enemies. The players like to use minis, but I like having dice because it makes it easier for the players to see the field. Twelve siders for 12 small guys or less. Then I use tens, eights, sixes, or fours for different types of monsters. I find it works really well and it's cheaper than trying to have minis that fit all the monster varieties I put in a game. -

For the ability to work on projects in a variety of places, including the coffee shop and the library, I'd definitely say the laptop. Get a good bag for your laptop, maybe one of the ones that looks like a backpack, only sturdier. Then get a mouspad and mouse for it. My laptop, which has served me very well for writing and visiting these boards, has a good number of USB ports and an ATI mobile video card. It's heavy, to be sure, but you want to have some versatility. If you're off to college, then it might have to serve as entertainment also. I don't tend to play a lot of video games on my laptop, but it's capable. In fact, get one that can play DVDs and you'll be able to watch movies. Good luck at school, Mothman! I'd go for the laptop, for sure, but I'd take Surreptishus' advice about the insurance. I've never had a problem with mine, but I've got all my work on it. Between all my projects, over a thousand pages of work. I can't insure that. So, get the insurance, but as you complete work, you've just got to be really careful. I'd suggest following a careful ritual in carrying, unpacking, and unpacking your laptop. It's a pain, but you don't want to lose all of your academic efforts. At some point, the laptop will be easier to replace than your papers, projects, and personal information.

Rage Soft Pulse Supple Violence Love The wind blows the long brown grass trees gently sway The darkness of my heart is gone driven far away by the inner peace of gentle thought I cannot see nor can I hear the soft hand divine but my relief from pain and gief this burden of mine is a gift given and gladly accepted My mind is small my will is weak my heart of fire is composed but the divine love is strong the doors of pain soon are closed and I find the peace that I seek

Damn, I haven't seen this at all. This is the Christmas mission? I'll have to look for her now. I'm at the Crows mission on Pro right now. I plan on doing some fun stuff after I get my SA through this mission. The good thing about playing on the other settings is that virtually everything that worked lower is working on Pro. Just that one mistake and you're restarting the scenario.

Phillistine! feh! Okay, I'll post a poem tomorrow, just to show you guys! By the way, "Bikini clad girls are from me bereft" heh heh. I love it.

Whatever. The pictures were just aweful altogether. The whole display of a lack of chest was dismal. Still, if were supposed to take a position, I'd say that Kelly Brook was probably the pretiest of the bunch followed by the black woman, then the strange named singer, the Keira chic last. However, in the right circumstances, I'm sure all of them could be beautiful. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Okay, establishing you're not going to off yourself and leave a messy corpse, I wonder about the whole "life summarized" and "life escapes" thing. Is this for a class or just poetry for its own sake? You really need Baley for this one. He's the resident poet around here.

It's a strange poem, Child. This doesn't reflect your current state of mind, I hope. Poetry can be a great way to release inner turmoil. It's like what they say about the Blues... a good man feelin' bad. The first half is the suicide. The first three lines identify feelings. The next two provide an image. The next line describes an action. The next two lines contextualize the act. It's a disturbing poem, to be sure. First of all, I'd hope that this poem does not give an insight into your actual state of mind. I'm going to end up turning all emo uncle.
