What's your dream car?

It's a Jeep thing

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

--John Stewart Mill--

"Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns."

Don't think I have a dream car, but I also am fond of those Porsches.

I also like the 1957 Chevy Corvette. For that matter, I like a lot of older sports cars.

The VW comercials are insultingly stupid. I couldn't care less about the car, but the ads are enough to drive me away.

I've always been fond of the Jaguar. No, not Jag u ar.

Of course, I'm not a big car fanatic. Still, if I had enough money that I literally didn't mind throwing some away on a really expensive car, I'd probably get this one:

Why? Because Susan Cooper, in one of my favorite series, has the characters ride around the Welsh countryside in a Land Rover.

You shouldn't get a Land Rover if you plan on living here in the states, Eldar. That is, unless you don't mind going through a big hassle when it breaks down and you need to get it fixed. You can't get parts here, and it's basically a big money pit. My Aunt has one, and it's an absolute pain. Seriously, if I was you, I wouldn't get one.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

Getting the land rover right now isn't in the cards anyhow, pixies. I mean, I don't have the kind of resources to get a land rover without giving up something else, and I like my something elses too much.

So, kid, what's your dream car?

I'm curious, especially in light of your love of "Wave of Mutilation." I want to know what kind of car you'll drive so I can get the hell off the street.

Firstly, the song isn't about anything.

Secondly, my dream car is a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, but my dad sold it for $55,000. I'll try to find a picture of it.

Thirdly, here is the car I have, but not an actual picture of mine, I don't have one.

Come on, the first line is about driving his car into the ocean!

At any rate, if you've got the money to buy an expensive car, you probably have the money to have it fixed when it breaks down.

Right now, the wife and I are driving around in Ford Mustangs, but I think I'll go for something larger and more comfy the next go 'round. I'm 6'2". I need something roomy. Not necessarily Land Rover big, but big enough to where I don't have to stoop to get into the car.

An early 70's Plymouth Barracuda. This one happens to be a 1971 with a 440ci six pack.

For a non-American car it would be the Ferrari F50.

I always liked the earlier model Cudas more. I might get one if I can find one.
