  1. I remember in NWN1 that taking levels in PrC had no incidence on the XP penalty: the latter only mattered for base classes. I don't know if it's the same in NWN2.
  2. I just found a cool cheat at gamefaqs: Debug Mode Codes While playing, hit ~ to bring up the console. Then type in "DebugMode 1" without the quotes. You may then use the following codes. (Note that all codes are cAsE sEnSiTiVe.) rs ga_party_limit(6) Raises the amount of party members you may have at once to 6. Default is 3 in Act 1 and 4 in Acts 2 and 3. It may interesting to have more party members just in terms of party interaction. However, i wonder if the game will crach or get stuck if we use that cheat... Can someone try it? The more the merrier! (just wanted to use that one)
  3. Bah! I just love to make crazy prestige class combinations (remember my bard/harper scout/pale master or ranger/arcane archer/dwarven defender in NWN1? Of course I cheated to achieve this but it was fun doing it... on the other hand, my characters weren't that powerful in the end...) If the game allows you to take both Shadow Thief and NwnNine prestige classes, I will certainly do it! If you can reach a max of 5 levels for the NwnNine Prc, I may have to stop leveling up at some point till it is available to me... Noone has answered my other questions: Can other joinable NPCs multiclass? Has anyone tried the golem NPC? is it good and do you take it late in the game? Thanks in advance for your answers! Cheers.
  4. It may never be completed unfortunately. The site hasn't been updated for more than a year.
  5. Weird... noone has ever tried that mod? I am actually enjoying it quite a lot! There are many mini-quests and quite some roleplaying-options (for example, you can choose to side with some good-natured ogres and face the persecuting humans instead).
  6. Another question: do you think it's possible to pick both Shadow Thief and Neverwinter Nine prestige classes or are they incompatible story-wise?
  7. Has anyone tried the Golem NPC? I am looking forward to including him in my party. But does it join late in the game?
  8. Can someone tell me a bit more about those quest-related PrC? Are there only 2 of them? At which point are you supposed to take them?
  9. I just noticed that the mod also implements the concept of regional reputation just as Sawyer planned to include in Jefferson. I would love to find this feature in TBH if Sawyer ever decides to make it.
  10. Is the dwarf the only joinable NPCs that can multiclass?
  11. well, we already have the first half of it, which IS better than NOTHING at all. I really like the way spellcasting has been handled (they use mana points now). You guys ought to take a look at it. http://www.dragonlancetc.com/
  12. I know that most of you are busy with NWN2 but there are still a lot of good mods for the IE games. Glory of Istar is one of them. I just downloaded it and it is quite enjoyable and loyal to the Dragonlance setting's rules. The mod will eventually have 2 chapters but the first one has been released in the form of a demo. Has anyone ever tried it? I just enjoy using again that old BG2 interface for new adventures. I just feel nostalgic... and the game is a bit hard since you start at level 1, and dont have many companions.
  13. I have played the penultima series (the first part though). I enjoyed them quite a lot but I didn't like the lack of long-term joinable NPCs (but they say this is fixed in the second part of the series). The people in this campaign are all lunatic and that's exactly what made me appreciate these modules. The story was ok too.
  14. pervert...
  15. Seriously guys, if you want to roleplay there are some excellent PW for NWN with dedicated people who have a great sense of humor. Due to time constraints, I haven't been playing a lot on these PW, but the few hours I spent there, I had a lot of fun and remember quite a few memorable moments. The most important thing is that it's totally FREE.
  16. I was debating the fact that the game was broken because of that feature you mentioned. The game's job system was very well thought and very flexible. It also allowed the use of different strategies since each job had unique abilities. I can barely believe you when you say that you reached level 60 while being in chapter 1. Even though it is feasible, it would have taken you an insane amount of time. When i used the trick you were referring to, I already was at the end of the game. Whenever one of my low-level characters hit a high-level character, you would get the double or triple of the normal XP. In that sense, the game has a weakness since you can level up pretty quickly. Other than that, it is up to the gamer's responsibility if he doesn't want to ruin his game. Blaming the game itself for allowing him to cheat wouldn't be fair (we could criticize the IE games in the same way since they allowed you to cheat by using the CLUAconsole thingie). The game is one of my favorites despite the fact that it was lacking of some elements (character development, etc). I can accept any criticism about it except for any qualification of it as being broken.
  17. Nope. I have no idea what you're talking about. But it sounds like a bug in those games. In FFT it was a "feature" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, I was sure you were going to say that. However, even though this was a "feature" of FFT, it wasn't meant to be easily exploited as I already said. The only situation in which you can get a real benefit out of it is when you want to quickly gain some levels for your low-level characters (while the rest of your party is 20 or more levels above). You cannot say that a game is broken just because of this.
  18. If you are referring to the potential abuse of a weakness in the game's system, I can as well mention numerous similar examples: do you remember some quests in BG2 or NWN in which you could get infinite XP or infinite gold? Anyone could exploit these weaknesses and max out their characters. Would you, however, qualify these games as broken? I don't think so... It is up to the player if he wants to play normally or not. And just for your info, you cannot really max out a character in one map. I have already tried that for a few characters that I never used in battles. All my main characters were lv99 and the others were around lv30. I then started the rock throw-potion trick, and could easily raise them to lv60. After lv60, the amount of XP you would get for each hit with a rock was just average, meaning that you would have to throw rocks for at least 10 hours to let them reach lv99. It's not a weakness you can easily abuse of...
  19. HOW DARE YOU GUYS MOCK THE MIGHTY FFT? Besides, it's not fair comparing any other FF game with FFT, since the latter is a strategy game and not a RPG. The game was not THAT unbalanced. Each class had its pros and cons, but it is true that players would prefer some classes over others (summoners, calculators and lancers being my favorite... on the other hand, what was the purpose of bard, dancers or mimics? maybe to add some flavour to the game). It was the inclusion of Cid in your party that ruined the game since he could wipe out just ANY for within one round (or two at worst). The story was really interesting but it was a shame that there wasn't that many dialogs and that some of the key characters wouldn't say anything more once they joined your party (they would just turn to mindless puppets). The game would have been great if there was a multiplayer option: it would have been as if playing chess with pawns that had special abilities (that would be great in my opinion). While FFT could have been a better game on many points, it still was the best strategy game ever made for ps1. And I loved the game's story and intrigue (the ending was weird but not bad either).
  20. ROFL!!! That's SO lame!!! They could have at least given us Jefferson as freeware...
  21. If this proves to be too much work for you, you can always put up a team of modders to help you with the project. There are some people volunteering for that in these boards.
  22. Anyway, I really hope that Feargus will suggest the development of TBH as a NWN2 expansion to the guys from Atari. Where there is profit to be gained, I don't see why they should say "no".
  23. What's the point of hiding any information revealed in this thread when one can understand that he is about to discover spoilers just by reading the thread's title? I mean, every post will have to hidden if we follow the boards' rules. Besides, what else except for spoilers can be said in this thread anyway?
  24. Since NWN2 has been released, noone has bothered making a list of the 10 NPCs that will join you during your quest. So far we know that there is: a gnome bard a golem an elven wizard a dwarven fighter who are the other 6?
  25. I'd place alot of money on it being rejected. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> explain your thoughts, please.
