am admitted perplexed by the browns "analytics" approach that results in drafting 5 wrs given just how many needs they got. as for jags and the ruler o' the draft, the recipient o' such an award is always determined with the benefit o' hindsight... 2-3 years hindsight. myles jack is a pick that can complete blow up in the jags collective face. and in a time when so many teams is slaves to computer numbers, the jags went 180 and chose instead to rely 'pon college production. holmes, day and the kid from maryland whose name we always flub, were all fantastic producers in college, but they all got big question marks as to whether then can play in the nfl. titans worked the draft well to acquire extra picks. given that the draft is such a crap shoot, more picks is good. 'course the browns also gots themselves numerous picks and then chose the aforementioned wide receivers. there is a tendency for experts to pick baltimore as a draft winner every year 'cause there is such respect for the ravens scouting department, but such blind faith feels like a knee-jerk response made in large part 'cause winners o' the draft is unknowable today. *shrug* heck, as much as we like jaylon smith, we think dallas had a train wreck o' a draft insofar as filling needs. darren mcfadden played very well last year and the cowboys had other quality players at rb. where is the dallas safety and edge rusher Starters in this draft? dak prescott and ezekiel elliott is both having significant character flags and if there is one team that needs to focus more on character, it is the cowboys. etc. still, if jaylon smith does come back 90%, and if dak is the next joe montana, and if elliott is the next adrian peterson, and if the basketball player from baylor makes the transition to te, then jerry jones wreck is transformed into some kinda masterpiece o' football perspicacity. am not gonna know draft winner for a couple o' years, but typical fans is either over enthusiastic or over critical o' their team's draft. is rare in between. am thinking that the giants may have gotten a couple skill position steals. shepard looks like a quality wr and he can always contribute in the return game. perkins and adams have the potential to be fantastic later round gems. the rb from ucla seemed to be criminal underrated, and the te from south carolina were potential the second best prospect at his position. denver may eventual be crowned the 2016 draft champ, and is largely dependent on a single pick. lynch gots no experience under center, but if he gots a couple years to develop before being thrown into the nfl qb crucible, he could be exact what elway wants: a big and athletic qb who can make every throw and kill you with his feet if need be. if lynch ends up being the best qb from the 2016 draft, then am thinking broncos deserve consideration for champ. 2-3 years. at the moment, am admitted puzzled by the picks o' more than a few teams, but the draft were deep and the draft were interesting. am pulling for scooby wright iii. is a browns pick at #250, so is a prohibitive longshot prospect, but he gots a great name and he were so darn good in college that we cannot help but hope he proves that every team that passed on him, multiple times, were fools for ignoring his college production. 'course for a mike backer who runs a 4.87 40 to get drafted at all is also noteworthy. scooby wright iii. HA! Good Fun! ps am actual most disappointed with the raiders draft. in recent years the raiders has drafted extreme well. without al davis being involved in personnel decisions, the raiders has begun to resurrect their franchise. the raiders got some o' the true elite young players in the nfl, and they got 'em at numerous positions. but the 2016 raiders draft confuses us. wait til round 7 for ol? at one point it looked like the raiders were purposeful drafting guys with medical issues. conor cook? am... confused. even so, is gonna be 2-3 years.

two or three years from now, if dallas still sucks, nobody will blame their mediocrity on a single 2nd round gamble. converse, jaylon smith is the player in this draft we believe has the most potential o' being a hall of famer. sure, it is possible that jaylon smith never plays a down, and at the very least he sits a year. this is a risk pick. even so, he is gonna be a character guy that dallas is sorely in need o' and IF he recovers even 90%, folks will be calling jerry jones a genius... which hasn't been the case in many years. is not surprising that jones makes a risky pick 'cause o' the potential o' collecting laurels down the road. real head scratcher were round 1 when dallas didn't fill needs. HA! Good Fun!

Oscar Winner Alicia Vikander Cast as Lara Croft in 'Tomb Raider' Reboot
Gromnir replied to ktchong's topic in Way Off-Topic
am admitted interested not in lara croft/tomb raider, but if a filmmaker is planning on doing multiple actiony movies with the same attractive female lead, it makes sense to start with a younger actress. gotta plan for future, no? hope for three movies and you are gonna be looking at at least five years between filming o' the first and third flick, no? HA! Good Fun! -
bosa is interesting, and Gromnir were surprised. most obvious reason for surprise were the other glaring needs for sd as already discussed elsewhere in this thread. that being said, multiple talent evaluators had bosa as their best overall prospect, but the knocks on him were noteworthy. bosa played at 280-285, but to improve his combine 40 he dropped to 266, and then ran a pedestrian-to-poor 4.85. yeah, the importance o' 40 times is overblown, but there is no question that the nfl is faster than the college game. 'course terrell suggs had a 4.84 40 time that scared many teams and saw him drop down to the #10 pick in 2003. his substandard 40 didn't hurt him too much in the nfl. however, there is just as many forgotten players who didn't stick in the league simple 'cause they didn't have the speed to make the transition to the nfl. there is also off-the-field issues with bosa. not worth getting into too much, but ezekiel elliott and bosa were roommates and is more than a few stories 'bout some o' the stuff they got into and away with at osu. however, the reason we were most surprised by the chargers pick is that one o' the few knocks on bosa is that he ain't a 3-4 fit. bosa is not an olb and he ain't a 3-4 de that played directly over the ot. bosa appears to be a single-gap edge rusher. the chargers either gonna need have bosa play olb, which is outside his skillset and will include a rather considerable learning curve (and perhaps additional lowering o' weight) or they makes him a two-gap de, which is gonna limit his pass rush efficacy and opportunities. weird, but interesting. get arguable best player in the draft is good, but the choice were... odd. HA! Good Fun! ps we couldn't help but feel sympathy for the ny giants on day 1. virtual every mock draft and expert prognostication had the giants taking either an ot or leonard floyd. stanley and conklin were off the board and tunsil's implosion resulted in reasonable wariness regarding the ole' miss product. heck, tunsil, during his post-draft presser for miami, threw his college team under the bus by admitting that he took money from coaches while in college. taylor decker were the next highest rated ot, but the osu o-lineman likely weren't worth a #10 pick. so, baring a trade down, the giants were thwarted insofar as filling their ot need. the giants Other linked prospect were leonard floyd. am admitting that the appreciation o' floyd were lost on us, but numerous teams reported wanted him, and the closer we got to draft day, the higher were floyd's rating. a more athletic aldon smith w/o being such a headcase? *shrug* chicago swung a deal to get floyd at #9. for the giants it likely seemed like the league were conspiring 'gainst them.

am not sure if you are being obtuse on purpose or for fun. again, Gromnir ain't the one who made the parallel 'tween gaider and sheakespeare. YOU are the guy who claimed that time should improve writing as time has improved special effects and tech aspects. at that point, Gromnir observed that using YOUR reasoning, Gromnir should be experiencing blissgasms when watching any movie, reading any book or playing any game as it has been 500 years since shakespeare's last play and your expected incremental improvement should result in divine writings from storytellers. we didn't make parallels. we contrast. is Gromnir who were observing that there has Not been general improvement in storytelling in a long time, and we wouldn't expect such improvement. duh. and recognizing that bg2 weren't some kinda masterpiece is hardly explaining your expectation for improvement. as shady has mentioned numerous times now, at some point in sod the writers began to railroad... which should be expected. the game fits in-between two completed stories and any number o' characters in sod has fixed histories that the beamdog writers got no choice but to accommodate as those characters exist in bg2. sod is a bg1 expansion, and the bg2ee already exists. the protagonist o' sod can't ride off into the sunset nor can he die a hero's death. we know where and how edwin, minsc, jaheira and a host o' other characters begin bg2, so is little room to make fundamental changes their stories. no sod character that already exists is gonna have any appreciable growth, 'cause they didn't have such growth at start o' bg2. the freedom o' the beamdog writers were significant limited. as we noted already, bg2 also had far more resources and we able to embrace larger and more diverse storylines. many o' those bg2 stories were little better than bg1. a FEW o' the bg2 stories and writing were fantastic. *chuckle* the bg2 bard stronghold were actual fantastic and is a terrible shame that so few folks got to experience. given the brevity o' the expansion, am doubting that the sod companions all got development on par with jaheira and keldorn. would be UNreasonable to expect similar development in a typical expansion. in a combat-heavy expansion 'tween bg1 and bg2 with a length o' ~25 hours, the beamdog writers were hamstrung, as expected. you are being obtuse on multiple levels. expect david and luke and mark from bg2 to make improvement incremental from game to game is understandable even if it ain't realistic. use special effects and technical improvements o' the franchise since 1998 to explain and validate your expectations is utter ridiculous, but yeah, Individual writers should improve aspects o' their craft over time. amber, liam and andrew did not write bg2. andrew got some graphic novel experience before coming to beamdog? saddle writers with limited resources and a defined scope and expect 'em to improve somebody else's well received bg2 characters and story is actual a daunting task. and the degree to which technical and gameplay aspects has been improved since 2000 is a pointless observation and hardly a rationale for expecting writing improvement. serious, you can't be as obtuse as you act. HA! Good Fun! -
am thinking it is a good move for the broncos. according to numerous metrics, lynch were the best available qb in this draft. is a bad move only if the broncos actual start lynch this year. HA! Good Fun!

well, at least the cowboys learned from past mistakes and drafted a consummate team player with great character. http://phillyinfluencer.com/2016/03/some-not-so-good-rumors-about-ezekiel-elliotts-drug-habits-are-making-the-rounds-now/ etc. elliott is a very good rb, but rb were not a high need position for dallas. de or safety were obvious needs. am also wary o' another dallas addition with questionable character. fun draft though. not following predictions, and as we noted earlier in the thread, is hard to complete screw the p00ch this year as the first round grades is relative flat. short o' injuries and complete character busts, we thinks that as long as teams draft needs, they will do okie dokie. for example, chargers taking bosa were a surprise and they had greater needs than de, but most scouts were extreme high (no pun considering the mj rumors) on bosa. HA! Good Fun! ps bears pick were the first boom v. bust choice for us in this draft. tweener de/olb with questionable instincts and bad strength. he gots pass rusher measurables and took over a few sec big games, but he also got eliminated by average players and schemes. leonard floyd is a gamble and we think it is a coin toss as to whether he becomes a pro bowl pass rusher, or is outta the league in 4 years.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Gromnir replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
obstacles other than what we already referenced? we are talking 'bout an expansion of limited scope shoehorned in between two existing stories. golly, what obstacles could we be referencing? "I don't know about edgy, but it's accurate. Baldur's Gate was released in 1998, though. SoD is a 2016 game, so while chronologically it goes right before BG2, I would expect have liked the writing to be, I don't know, better than BG2?" and "So yeah, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more experienced developers to improve on it. Arguably they have done so in the gameplay and tech aspects, so I don't see what's so esoteric about writing that BG2 simply cannot be topped in that regard. you brought up the ridiculous time aspect, not Gromnir. you made perplexing comparison 'tween writing and tech advancements. Gromnir ain't the one who compared gaider and ohlen to shakespeare. duh. you is the guy who expected improvement o' writing based on passage o' time. is Gromnir who observed that it is asinine to expect shakespeare quality from beamdog writers simple 'cause 500 years has elapsed. another swing and miss for #s. *shrug* who the hell expects superiority o' later incarnations o' story w/i a franchise, regardless o' time and resource limitations, and regardless o' the writers contributing? is very few examples wherein writing gets better for a franchise that has existed 15 or more years. battlestar galactica would be a good example, but then we would needs use such an example to refute those who is complaining 'bout writers making fundamental changes in an effort to stay relevant. HA! Good Fun! -
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Gromnir replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
but based on your expectations, why shouldn't we have julius caesar writing at this point? if elapsed time is a relevant factor and you see parallels 'tween special effects improvement and writing improvement, then why doesn't Gromnir get his blissgasm? have another 500 years go by and we expect folks will still be impressed with shakespeare. narrative quality depends on skills and imaginations o' the writer. there is no technical limits to imagination. has there been a fundamental improvement in the human species in 500 yearss... much less 16? written storytelling has not marked improved as a whole in hundreds o' years, but #s expects game writing to marked improve since 2000? why? individual writers can improve technical aspects o' their writing over time, though is actual rare that an author's greatest work is his final opus. is individual improvement. there has been no generational advancement in storytelling. so, the beamdog writerS, face new and more significant obstacles than bioware encountered w/o the benefit o' any kinda fundamental improvement in written storytelling for hundreds o' years and yet #s expected sod writing to be better than bg2 writing? 'cause technical aspects o' games has improved? 'cause... why? HA! Good Fun! -

it's been more than 500 years since shakespeare's last play, so why is it that when Gromnir watches a play, sees a movie or plays a story-driven game, we ain't experiencing an hours long blissgasm o' pure epiphany? special effects and production values has improved since shakespeare. entertainment industries have had hundreds o' years to improve narrative and storytelling for chrissakes. I haven't played SoD yet, is the transsexual NPC in question one of the established NPC's from BG1 and BG2? Or a wholly new character? new character. minor character from our understanding. so, not Gandalf? so to be analogous we would be talking 'bout a sequel to lotr, with writing not based on anything from tolkien. so, perhaps the blue wizards get five minutes o' screen time and are depicted as indeterminate sex. instead o' being p00p covered like jackson's brown wizard, the blue wizards is revealed as genderless/transexual twins who finish each other's sentences... 'cause twins do that in movies. perhaps have twin 1 initial wear women's clothes and twin 2 wear menswear. when twin 1 is seen wearing men's clothing, the change confuses the protagonists o' the new middle earth movie. maybe the blue wizards get a couple lines wherein they mention how limiting is the concept o' gender. have blue wizards be portrayed by tilda swinton? how many movies has she done in which she blurred gender lines w/o it being priscilla, queen of the desert kinda levels. the horror. as an aside, am pretty sure jackson already did his part for the lgbt community when he made his original trilogy. HA! Good Fun! -
*chuckle* the discipline handed down by the commissioner would be considered tame and extreme lax in any industry save entertainment and sports. the commissioner has also been consistent, which is actual a rare and admirable quality. sure, we thinks just 'cause somebody is truthful 'bout their indiscretions it should not result in absolution. am not a fan o' the commissioner, but our problem with him is that he has been too forgiving and not that he has been unfair. the evil commissioner demands honesty from those who play in the nfl? that is only unfair 'cause it is an alien concept to nfl players. and 'course hurl wouldn't have been the one to personal negotiate. that is the point o' having unions for chrissakes. the nflpa and the teacher's organization negotiate on the behalf o' individual members, and then the members Vote on whether to accept or reject the negotiated deal. nfl players negotiated and received numerous concessions. the players got what they bargained for, so why shouldn't the owners get what they paid for? owners gave up olympic-standard testing and numerous other demands. owners got a commissioner who could actual hold players and teams accountable. if owners can't have the commissioner as they negotiated, what then should the players need sacrifice? silliness. aside, but related http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2636100-laremy-tunsil-sued-by-stepfather-over-june-domestic-violence-incident a couple months ago and most folks assumed that tunsil would be the #1 pick-- were the obvious choice at #1 for the titans. is now a question regarding how far tunsil will drop... but he will be drafted and drafted early. the owners largely got their hands tied behind their backs insofar as drug testing is concerned. try and discipline players and teams must be a challenging task. HA! Good Fun!

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Gromnir replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
star wars actual is a good example, 'cause while special effects and innumerable technical aspects o' movie making has improved since the 1970s, writing and story development... hasn't. citizen kane introduced a few storytelling advancements to movies, but for the most part, movies has not marked improved the narrative presentation for a long time. star wars is a good example. empire is considered the high watermark for the franchise. 1980. empire is 1980 and five movies removed? "I don't know about edgy, but it's accurate. Baldur's Gate was released in 1998, though. SoD is a 2016 game, so while chronologically it goes right before BG2, I would expect have liked the writing to be, I don't know, better than BG2?" as nepenthe observes, sod is an expansion o' limited scope that were shoehorned in between bg1 and bg2. heck, a considerable amount o' the bg2 writing were bad, but given just how large were the game, there were many opportunities to get a few o' those sidequest stories right. that said, our expectations for sod storytelling is reasonable limited given the rather significant obstacles the sod writerS faced compared to bg2 writers, but considering just how thin were the writing in bg1, we would expect sod improvements over bg1 if only 'cause we got a hard time imagining worse without it being camp-parody. but to expect better writing from sod Because 16 years has elapsed since bg2 is an odd proposition. compare writing in sod to the other bg game expansions would be less inequitable. then again, tob were a unique expansion in terms o' scope. tob also did not need bridge two already existing stories. still, compare and expect writing at least on par with the previous bg Expansions is far more reasonable measuring. we ain't yet played sod, so we cannot compare, but we would be more than a little unjust to expect sod to improve bg2 writing, and to see elapse o' 16 years as a reason for sod writing improvement compared to bg2 is ridiculous. HA! Good Fun! -
*eye roll* the nflpa gave the commissioner power over discipline and in exchange they got concessions from the owners. to complain that the commissioner then used the power to discipline is ridiculous. *chuckle* can you imagine how hurlshot's teachers union woulda reacted if his reps had presented them a deal whereby teachers would allow individual school superintendents to have carte blanche over matters o' discipline? you think hurl woulda been in favor o' such an offer just so long as drug testing standards were reduced? 'course not. you think hurl gots more powerful representation than NFL players? how many o' us would sympathize with hurl if his union had negotiated such a deal? president and congress is neither good comparisons, 'cause president and congress got powers limited by the Constitution. the nflpa and the owners did not vote a commissioner into office. the nflpa and the owners Negotiated and Agreed. the players didn't realize that the commissioner would actual have the sand to discipline their behavior? HA! little sympathy from Gromnir. players negotiated. players got what they bargained for, so why shouldn't the owners? HA! Good Fun!

Then we'll have to agree to disagree. When you frame it that way, I can't help but think of a newly-crowned king...with the powers granted to him by his position, he might make a great king, even if he does wield absolute power and authority. He might also make a truly terrible one. The nonsense that was "Spygate" should've been warning enough to the NFLPA, I agree, but the following baloney that have been Bountygate, Deflategate, Noisegate, the Ray Rice scandal, et cetera...have illuminated more than enough about the "greatness" of Goodell in this regard. compare to a king with absolute power is unfair, no? what other job would we be surprised if an employee were fired for dishonesty? even for a majority o' contract jobs, lying is verboten. we are talking 'bout suspensions, not even fire. and why king? nflpa is the folks who, with a long history o' its members having faced discipline problems, made a choice regarding how much power the commissioner would have. if commissioner has kingly authority instead o' something less, it is 'cause the nflpa agreed that they wanted roger to be a king instead o' an impotent functionary. but the nflpa were far more concerned with preventing the nfl from adopting an olympics standard for drug testing than they was 'bout other kinds o' discipline. the nflpa were more concerned with reducing practice time. the nflpa negotiated. the nflpa blocked olympic testing. they got reduced practices. the owners, as part o' their bargaining, got a commissioner who had broad authority to discipline players for behaviors which could reflect bad 'pon the brand. the nflpa bargained for promises that the nfl must fulfill. why should the reverse not be true? 'cause the nflpa were a bunch o' innocent lambs who didn't realize what were the substance over which they were negotiating? HA! the nflpa were compensated. if giving the commissioner power to discipline were a mistake, then they should pay for that mistake. perhaps reduction in practices and largely pointless drug testing that only idiots fail were mistakes attributable to the owners, but they gotta pay for those mistakes. the owners are paying for their mistakes. the players can afford to pay for their mistakes too. can always renegotiate the cba, but what is the nflpa willing to give up to get reduced commissioner authority? ain't seen the nflpa offer any such concessions. HA! Good Fun!

the nflpa didn't care enough about the issue when they negotiated the previous deal. am guessing that the owners were surprised when the nflpa didn't bother to object to handing broad disciplinary powers to the commish. players were far more interested in reducing practices n' such. sure, the players has learned from their mistake, but some lower courts has, in our opinion, been a bit too paternalistic regarding the cba. the nflpa is a powerful organization that were fully aware o' what they were negotiating. terms agreed to were not unconscionable. have some courts effective rewriting the cba w/o compensating the owners in any way has always struck Gromnir as inappropriate. *shrug* complain that the commissioner has excessive disciplinary power when that is what the players negotiated is a ridiculous position to argue. am also not feeling bad for tom brady. the nfl commish can be a yutz at times, but he is consistent. based on past disciplines, if roger thinks folks is being honest, he gives 'em a slap on the wrist as long as the violator is contrite. beat your wife and agree to counselling? your penalty is gonna be slight. lie 'bout anything, make commish believe you are lying to him, and he is unforgiving. actually, we kinda respect that approach even if we do not necessarily agree. tom brady were clear obfuscating in regards to deflategate. the cellphone nonsense were enough to make Gromnir not believe anything brady had to say 'bout the issue. the commish were given broad powers via the cba to punish. so, no tears for brady. if you gonna hide truth, then man-up and take the punishment. give the commish such broad discipline powers were, perhaps, foolish. however, the powers o' the commish were negotiated and agreed to by the nflpa, and the nflpa were aware o' what they negotiated. were no chicanery on the part o' the owners. were no unbalanced negotiating. players is getting what they bargained for and what they agreed to. players is cherry picking sympathetic courts to do an end around on the cba they negotiated. from our pov, the bad guys is not ownership or the commissioner but the nflpa. 'course, we routinely use the UCC as toilet paper and labor law, from our pov, has not progressed since the magna carta were penned. touchy-feely courts protecting the poor nflpa from their own mistakes? bah. we instead follow the Aunty Entity school o' remedies. http://www.movieclips.com/videos/mad-max-beyond-thunderdome-official-clip-bust-a-deal-face-the-wheel-552463939686 HA! there is rumors that san diego is considering trading outta their spot. consensus is that the chargers believe that their greatest need is interior dl, but the truth o' the matter is that none o' the interior dl warrant the number three pick. buckner makes sense for san diego IF the chargers really wanna address dl needs, though buckner ain't a true dt such as is rankins, reed, jones or others who is projected as more mid-round picks... could be a bit o' a run on the defensive thick bodies starting as early as 11. would be kinda crazy, but is possible that san diego also trades outta their first pick in this year's draft. personal, with weddle's departure and river's endemic vulnerability, we see significant san diego needs at both safety and ot. unfortunately, tunsil's off-the-field issues is 'posed making a few teams wary and there is still more than a few gms who refuse to spend an early first round pick on a safety (or guard or center.) heck, rb has become a recent addition to the list o' positions that many teams believe is wasteful o' a first round selection, baring a walter payton or jim brown kinda talent. is likely posturing on the part o' san diego simple to see what kinda value they could get for their #3 if they were to trade, but there is rumors o' shopping their first round selection. is disturbing that so many first round guys may lose money for character reasons. most o' the ohio state guys is flagged as is the mississippi state and ole' miss players... and baylor guys and a couple alabama players and... *shrug* is kinda amusing, but a few o' the stanford and nd players gots a kinda inverted character problem in that their draft stock has been adjusted 'cause a few teams do not believe that the majority o' players from those schools is "hungry enough" to play nfl ball. HA! Good Fun!

to be fair, am suspecting that the typical kentucky longrifle woulda' been extreme inaccurate at 400 yds, though hardly constituting an impossible shot. jack hinson, one o' the most dangerous snipers in history, utilized a customized .50 kentucky longrifle and some o' the ranges attributed to him were impressive if unconfirmed. HA! Good Fun!

What, an 18th century rifle? Story must be apocryphal, they couldn't hit an elephant from that distance. That made me laugh more than it probably should have well, especially since battle o' spotsylvania were 19th century and the rifled muskets during the american civil war were scary accurate. http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/detail.asp?smallarms_id=525 if we were talking a non-rifled weapon from 100 years earlier, then zor mighta' been ... accurate. not your fault though. HA! Good Fun!

well, the Bill of Rights is kinda 'bout personal rights, so... *shrug* one o' the difficulties faced by those who wanna limit the 2nd Amendment protections is the fact that we is most often talking 'bout the kinda weapons that is ordinarily in the hands o' hurl's crazies, no? if Gromnir were serious wanting to organize a militia that would repel foreign invaders or to put down a whiskey rebellion, am thinking we would prefer our citizen soldiers to have something such as an ar-15 and an m1911 pistol, no? easily concealable handguns, on the other hand, don't sound like a militia weapon. personal, am much in favor of altering the 2nd Amendment. we wouldn't lose any sleep if handguns o' all types were having Constitutional protections eliminated. assault weapons? *snort* we pity the foreign or domestic force that would try and occupy parts o' west virginia or kentucky where every adult male over the age o' 10 has likely has access to a hunting rifle and a shotgun. not particular need handguns nor assault rifles to make foreign or domestic armies quale at the thought o' suppressing large portions o' US citizenry through conventional means. that being said, we thinks handguns, in particular, result in far too much innocent American blood being shed to continue defending their ownership and proliferation. we wouldn't mind an Amendment that precluded handguns... and assault rifles. however, there is a process for altering the Constitution. is not as if Americans is being held hostage by antiquated notions o' the founding fathers. don't like the 2nd Amendment? fine. change it. we got an Amendment process specific so that the Constitution may be changed. the founding fathers had foresight to recognize that the Constitution would need be altered. can't get the votes to change the Constitution? tough. work harder to get the votes rather than trying to do an end around on Constitutional protections. HA! Good Fun!
