  2. am actual more pessimistic than amentep. am certain that folks would complain. the thing is, nowadays, people complain 'bout everything. is impossible for us to keep straight what constitutes microaggressions and what is requiring trigger warnings... and when does trigger warnings become microaggressions. the upcoming disney film with dwayne johnson, moana, has already enraged many people. dwayne's character apparent promotes the offensive stereotype that men o' the pacific islands is all morbid obese. the children's halloween costume for maui also is offensive as the skin tone for the bodysuit is darker than the typical caucasian american-- a whole generation o' disney fans will resurrect the practice o' the brown-face caricature. etc. make brunhilde portrayed by an african-american actress and folks is enraged. make brunhilde portrayed by a caucasian actress and folks would no doubt be enraged. inevitable rage is sadly becoming little more than white noise. when folks gots a serious concern, we hardly even hear such nowadays as is drowned out by the seeming hurricane o' inanity. has gotten to the point where we see rage as inevitable. is tough to be genuine angered over anything when so many is enraged by everything. HA! Good Fun!
  3. memory is a funny thing. we spent a few weeks in soviet russia in a time before the wall came tumbling down. all kinda amazing and unique experiences. even so, when we thinks o' our trip to moscow, one o' the first images that springs to mind is the subways. say what you will 'bout soviet era russia (and there is much we can say,) but the subways were amazing clean and almost surreal given our experience with chicago L and nyc subways. ubiquitous chandeliers. am not certain if the chandeliers is still part o' the decor in moscow subway stations, but seeing crystal chandeliers in subway stations is an image that has not dimmed in the least over the intervening decades. so utter beyond our experience, and kinda pretty too. am hoping there is still big crystal chandeliers in the moscow subway stations. HA! Good Fun!
  4. agreed... although thor is actual the title that we would most wanna see done as a musical. we would pay much for a bonus blu-ray short o' my helm and magic hammer. HA! Good Fun!
  5. Westerns were the dominant genre for US movies for about 30 years. I doubt Superheroes are going anywhere anytime soon (particularly given that they dovetail into the existing and perennially popular "action movie" summer film and, like Westerns, can combine with other genres to create different approaches to the material). if you didn't like westerns and musicals, your options for movie viewing were significantly reduced until... mid 60s? next step in movie evolution: combine musicals and superhero films. truth-to-tell, modern superhero films is already deep influenced by westerns. sure, we don't have many modern movies set in the american west with heroes riding horseback and firing civil war era six shooters at easily identifiable bad guys. nevertheless, is not difficult to see influences o' the western on modern superhero films. westerns never actually disappeared, but perhaps the musical is primed for a returns. james spader's ultron doing his best jud fry solo o' "lonely room"? no? HA! Good Fun!
  6. wasn't her eye that caught us so much as her nose. piri-piri, coriander, bay leaf and saffron exposed our fledgling culinary self-educations. HA! Good Fun!
  7. What's Portuguese flavor? piri-piri, coriander and bay leaf? to a lesser degree, saffron and parsley is also common. we don't typical think o' ribs as a common portuguese dish, save for braised short ribs. we do almost no portuguese cooking. we got a housekeeper who is portuguese and she makes us food, but she refuses to teach us portuguese cooking. she looked so terribly sad and disappointed the one time she caught us experimenting that we hasn't dared try since. HA! Good Fun!
  8. trying to do school as an adult who gots family and career responsibilities is funless. and as much as we enjoyed our post high school education, am admitting there were few times in our life more stressful than midterms and finals and thesis defense. HA! Good Fun!

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10834358 "The mortality during the 12-year follow-up was 12.9% for the powerlifters compared to 3.1% in the control population. By 1993 eight of 62 powerlifters and 34 of 1094 population controls had died, thus the risk of death among the powerlifters was 4.6 times higher (95% CI 2.04-10.45; p = 0.0002). The causes of premature death among the powerlifters were suicide (3), acute myocardial infarction (3), hepatic coma (1) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (1). These findings add to the growing amount of evidence of an association between anabolic steroid abuse and premature death, and support the view that measures to decrease AAS misuse among both competitive and amateur athletes are justified." anecdotal evidence is swell and all, but... 12. She really ought to take those shoulder pads back to the 80's, their natural habitat. Is it just me that thinks about the poor workman who comes along to his nice freshly concreted square and beholds the mass destruction this alien has wrought on it, for no other reason than to look cool? I bet she never comes back and lends a hand or pays for the damages. Blasted Extra Terresestrials taking our capes! no capes. HA! Good Fun!
  13. much terrible pain has been caused in the name o' religion, but am personal tending to think that religion ain't the problem. human fear and greed would be same w/o religion as an inspiration for horror. and inspiration works both ways, no? our perspective is skewed. as with most first year university students, we became skeptical o' religion and governments and the nutrition labels on packaged food. skeptical o' everything. nietzsche had a profound influence 'pon us, though as with so many young would be nihilists, we ignored how friedrich lamented the death o' God. the thing is, as we has gotten older, we has seen so much terrible pain. have watched too many die slow, painful and agonizing. have watched many more need live slow, agonizing and painful. ... our opinion 'bout religion took a decided shift when we began to actual spend time volunteering at homeless shelters and soup kitchens rather than just debating 'bout such stuff at the University pub. in abstract we could (can) look at religion as a crutch for the weak and sneer. see the realities and we thank God so many has a crutch to help them endure sufferings. am still ambivalent 'bout religion, but am gonna guarantee it is much harder dismiss religion as a shackle or burden after you sit at bedside of a stage 4 cancer patient or terminal aids victim and the dying woman reads from psalms and takes comfort from her unshakable faith in the divine. thank God. thus ends our once-per-year post bout religion... 'cause as we said, we is ambivalent, and such is off-topic regardless. HA! Good Fun!
  14. Anyone who seriously thinks 9/11 was a conspiracy theory is either anti-Western and bitter Uninformed and ignorant Dillusiuonal or suffering from dementia Someone who just believes stupid conspiracy theories At this point in history anyone who doesn't believe in conspiracy theories is just misinformed. With all the information that has been leaked and all the awful things that government do you still trust them? I can understand skepticism and asking for evidence but just denying them on the merits of being a conspiracy theory... just go back to the MSM and vote for Hillary you chump. i honestly dont believe in any conspiracy theories.....well none I can think of? CS are just excuses where people become lazy and aren't interested in the truth. Why what CS should I consider? conspiracy theories depend on an absence of proof. therefore, while it can be amusing to debate conspiracy theories, it is, by definition, irrational to believe 'em. ... is particular strange given that conspiracy theorists tend to see themselves as skeptics. lack o' faith in media sources and governments is understandable and even laudable. however, is perplexing when the skeptics turn to crackpots, lunatics and rt for guidance. most perplexing. HA! Good Fun!
  15. am such a snob. when we saw george takei criticize the trump collective it made us recall that george couldn't hack it as an architecture student at Cal, so he dropped out and ended up in theatre at ucla. am needing to work on our educational elitism. is not as if we went to Princeton or Yale.... heck, not even brown. HA! Good Fun!
  16. am actual owing the brits a big thank you, 'cause no matter how ridiculous the US Presidential election becomes, it ain't as bad as brexit. HA! Good Fun!

*shrug* folks see word "steroid" and get confused with anabolic steroids. and gosh, an athlete who has taken painkillers is shocking and newsworthy indeed. not. out of the immense number o' US athletes at the olympics, russian hackers uncover that a few of 'em were having approval from WADA to be taking meds for medical conditions? is not news save for oby and the predictable conspiracy nutters littering the board. HA! Good Fun! ps turn into a general protest 'bout meds and sports is even more queer. every sport polices different, and some not at all. might as well post 'bout barry bonds clear and creme, eh?
  18. our position coach at Cal remarked that he were surprised we made it to california seeing as how it woulda' been impossible to get our hands through an airport metal detector. we observed that Gromnir drove all the way from illinois. *shrug* we were kinda a bob sanders safety, though we has been told that we have "serial killer eyes," which we is twisted enough to take as a compliment. relative stout, fast and hard hitting. were state finals in in both 100 and indoor 55, but coach were correct 'bout our hands. far more passes defensed than interceptions. and as fate would have it, the guy on our high school team who played mike ended up 1st team all-state. now He were the real deal. HA! Good Fun!

can't use lance armstrong as an example, save for his one olympics... which you ain't doing. to speak o' sports in general and use drug use by tai-pae pit fighters would be equal relevant. and your sniffer aside, the WADA is pretty darn strict, which is exact why a russian intelligence agency got involved in over-the-top cloak and dagger activities to alter russian athlete results. HA! Good Fun! ps armstrong got caught and had his 2000 bronze medal stripped by the ioc... so, is another reason your example is bad.
  20. we will take any excuse to post clips o' chicago's 34. is kinda funny that in 2016, payton would not have been anywhere near a first round draft pick in spite o' the fact that one famous nfl scout once observed that along with anthony munoz and john elway, payton were the only perfect college football players he had ever witnessed. ran ~ a 4.6 40. seemed faster 'cause o' incredible vision, balance and explosiveness, but he didn't have top-end speed. regardless, is our pick for best all-time rb. not just 'cause he were a fantastic runner (would actually choose jim brown or barry sanders as pure runners before payton... maybe gale sayers too ) but as a complete back, we don't believe we has seen anybody in the same class. is an anecdote that john mckay, the former bucs and usc coach, showed his tampa bay squad film o' THE perfect play-- were a block by payton followed by a 3 yd pass reception. made 'em watch it over and over. lambert is actually the guy we modeled our own playstyle after even though we played safety and not mlb. intimidation and intelligence. in spite o' the fact that lambert were not the most physical gifted player, he always maximized his opportunities to make a play by being in the correct spot to do so. lambert played smart. 'course once he had a chance to make a play, he punished opponents, and then he talked trash... talked lots. regardless, once football season starts, we can't enjoy a "little obstacle course." we already admitted it ain't rational, but our contact sport bias is at its height in september. HA! Good Fun!

... am thinking you might not be aware o' what is the present "scandal." russian hackers got the medical records o' US olympians revealing those individuals who had received legit and fully disclosed exemptions from the WADA to take medications to deal with existing conditions such as asthma and adhd and... whatever. is not actual any story here... unless, for example, it turns out that the women's 8s rowing team were all taking prostate medications and the WADA were ignoring the obvious ploy. HA! Good Fun!
  22. fed privacy laws prevent the irs from releasing info, and in any event, am certain if you reflect you will see why it is a terrible idea for the irs to make a change in policy to deal with trump's shenanigans. not gonna change laws, rules or policy regarding privacy o' medical records neither. yeah, trump's excuses is bs, but while there is a tradition o' presidential candidates providing tax returns, there is no law which would compel him to do so. is a good tradition. failure to follow such tradition should open trump up to universal scorn. that hasn't happened. the irs has taken heat in recent years for targeting conservative groups. bad. to overt target an individual 'cause o' questionable campaign claims would be inviting an epic p00p storm down on the irs. regardless, other than to make general policy observations regarding the rights o' any and all US citizens when dealing with the irs, you ain't gonna get government comment on trump's audit... real or imagined. HA! Good Fun!
  23. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/15/new-evidence-donald-trump-didn-t-pay-taxes.html there is more than a little evidence that trump is a "very bad man" insofar as taxes is concerned... and he refuses to even offer proof that he is being audited. irs won't comment, so is only trump's word *snort* that he is being audited. ... and once again, as has been stated by innumerable experts, it doesn't make one bit o' difference if trump is being audited or not. is not as if releasing returns to the public will change the audit by the irs. is a red herring. HA! Good Fun! ps tax returns.
  24. amusing/sad article regarding trump charitable donations https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/09/12/trumps-campaign-says-hes-given-tens-of-millions-to-charity-but-offers-no-details-and-no-proof/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/08/26/donald-trump-has-now-given-more-to-charity-in-the-last-four-months-than-in-the-previous-10-years-combined/ y'know, tax returns would clear up the charity question. HA! Good Fun! ps tax returns
