  1. took another swtor break after getting an imp and pub to 65 for the Dv.L companion reward thingie. however, we will likely do the play-as-hk-55 mission this weekend. HA! Good Fun!
  2. another culinerdy cruzer friday. went with the bahn jovi and the tempura green beans for our side. hmmm... am recalling seeing a video for the sandwich. http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/home-and-family/videos/bahn-jovi-sandwiches-home-family we almost pulled the trigger on the panty-dropper burger. 1/2 burger on texas toast with fire roasted tomatoes, mac n' cheese, bacon, More cheese and the house sauce. am thinking that main reason we were gonna order is simple so we could actual ask for a panty-dropper. HA! Good Fun!
  3. ignores 2,977 and 63. to make a point, folks gotta ignore 9/11 victims, near 3,000 of them. must also ignore that in the last 12 months we has seen more than 60 victims o' islamic terrorists. on the other hand, the lawnmower numbers is funny, 'specially considering how many safety measures those things typical got these days. back in ye olde tymes, we recall the side-bag mowers would easily become clogged if grass were the least bit wet. am not certain how many times we reached down and pulled out grass while mower were still running. stoopid, but as it took considerable effort, and a couple heartfelt hail marys and our fathers for pre-teen Gromnir to get the antiquated briggs & stratton mower started, we would typical risk dismemberment rather than shutting off the engine. also, our yard were not a clean and manicured plane o' green, so innumerable rocks o' impressive dimensions had been launched by our mower at nolan ryan speeds to bounce off barns, houses, cars, cows, horses and even Gromnir. might be some karma involved with the Gromnir strikes seeing as we typical laughed when livestock were hit. nowadays, 'less your mower is +30 years old or industrial, the safety measures to prevent injury is extreme. that being said, some four or so months ago, our gardener, a guy who works at the local golf course, managed to lose the outside toes on both his feet in a mower accident. we got a powerful imagination, but w/o the addition o' comical slippery banana peels or the intervention o' gremlins, am still trying to picture how in a single lawnmower accident a guy loses 2-3 outside toes on both feet. HA! Good Fun!
  4. http://www.therestisnoise.com/2004/04/arvo_prt_1.html "Several people have told me essentially this same story about the still, sad music of Pärt—how it became, for them or for others, a vehicle of solace. One or two such anecdotes seem sentimental; a series of them begins to suggest a slightly uncanny phenomenon. Patrick Giles, in an article for Salon, reported that when he worked as a volunteer for an AIDS organization, in the nineteen-eighties, he played "Tabula Rasa" for those facing the final onslaught of the disease, and they developed a peculiar, almost desperate attachment to it. Once, when Giles was away, the mother of one of the dying men called with an anxious query. "He keeps asking for 'angel music,' " she said. "What the hell is that?" The music in question was the second movement of "Tabula Rasa," in which a rustling arpeggio on a prepared piano leads into glacial chords of D minor." always liked it. HA! Good Fun!
  5. the level o' violence has been serious increasing in the past few months. construction sites and cops is now using dogs. is difficult to explain to a person who has never seen police dog bite wounds just how ugly the injuries is. on the other hand, protesters is ramping up their efforts as their concerns is repeated ignored. protest camp numbers range anywhere from hundreds to thousands and we got such stuff as laser pointers aimed at patrol aircraft, pipe bombs and mounted protesters rushing police/security lines (that coulda' been very bad) becoming increasing common. this situation has been out-of-hand for months, but nobody is doing anything meaningful to prevent escalation. ps is a great deal o' misinformation at play, so am not genuine certain what is going on. listen to the protesters and they got all kinda crazy conspiracy theories. at the same time, you got state, fed and private hierarchies that clear ain't working together and is bumbling and stumbling their way towards catastrophe. pps we keep seeing the water removal claim from protester side and it does exemplify misinformation. numbers o' protesters has swelled considerable. there is a fed protected campsite where water and other resources is being provided. unfortunately, protests ain't orderly. a second campsite sorta spontaneous sprung up on army corps o' engineer land. unfortunate, the response to protesters were not orderly. water tanks that were s'posed to be at the established site were accidental at the trespass site. water trucks (but not all such water resources at the site) gets transferred away from the trespass site during a particular heated time (literal and figurative) and next thing you know we is hearing that the Fed is trying to shut down the protesters by shutting off water. ... is a mess
  6. 'cause God loves baseball HA! Good Fun! ps God doesn't actual care 'bout sports, but his mother loves college football.
  7. am pretty sure that both clinton and trump play monopoly, and they both believe that cheating is part o' the game. HA! Good Fun!
  8. 'tween the solar city 'merger and the money being hemorrhaged by musk's various endeavors, am kinda waiting to hear that our ordered tesla inexplicable exploded while leaving the factory. HA! Good Fun!
  9. the thing we hate most 'bout geralt is that am pretty certain that we woulda' thought he were the kewlest character evar.... back when we were thirteen or fourteen. the witchers is written as if to mock our pretentious teenage self, and geralt is the embodiment o' the cartoony grimdark protagonist we no doubt woulda' mistaken applauded as authentic and nuanced. *groan* am suspecting that we dislike geralt so much 'cause the character reminds us o' a Gromnir we would just as soon pretend never existed. HA! Good Fun!
  10. am not certain why any ~70-year-old person would wanna be President. even the spry and fit septuagenarians we know is slowing down... and taking more naps. but again, we got alternatives o' trump and clinton. 'course we also have the case o' jfk http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,393754,00.html http://www.nytimes.com/1992/10/06/health/the-doctor-s-world-disturbing-issue-of-kennedy-s-secret-illness.html?pagewanted=all http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/08/the-medical-ordeals-of-jfk/309469/ can go down list o' Presidents such as wilson, cleveland, and chester a. arthur, all o' whom had serious medical issues that they purposefully withheld from the public. ... am just kinda ambivalent 'bout Presidential health. we know it is a serious issue, but we kinda take it on faith that these guys, regardless o' their desire to be Prez, also got the intelligence and sense to decide if their health would prevent them from serving for four years. am knowing that we will never know complete truth 'bout candidate health unless the candidates wanna let us know. see those before-and-after pictures o' guys at start and end o' their Presidency-- is obviously a physical taxing job. 'course we also know that poor health don't render a person incapable o' doing great things. ambivalent. it's an issue, but we vacillate 'bout how important it is. HA! Good Fun!
  11. she is old. 68. two years younger than trump. old people get neck/throat wattle. *shrug* old people is kinda "nasty" but only in the sense that they force us to recognize the fate which awaits all who... live. HA! Good Fun!
  12. most russians we deal with dress like the guy on the left even if they is all trying a bit too hard to channel alex kovas from rocknrolla am pretty sure the russian track suit thing died out in the 90s save for with the street punk/gangsta crowd. even so, is our understanding that when the wall fell and russians sudden had access to western goods, buying stuff with recognizable labels became an instant measure o' status. unfortunate, most russians at the time didn't have much cash. addidas track suits were cheap but also instant recognizable as brand name. HA! Good Fun! ps am admitting we ain't been back to russia for many years, but such is the explanation we got from russian 'business' folks we deal with.
  13. for perspective, we actual supported mahmoud abdul rauf. http://articles.latimes.com/1996-03-13/sports/sp-46409_1_mahmoud-abdul-rauf is not that we agreed with the nba star, but we admired his conviction, and thoughtfulness. no silly sox. no bs stories to validate his position. no excuses. the nba player believed that the USA, while a great place for him to earn money, were a nation o' tyranny and oppression. again, we disagreed with mahmoud abdul rauf, but we respected the man. we did not support his position or his beliefs, but as an American, we had little difficulty in supporting a peaceful protest o' perceived injustice. HA! Good Fun!
  14. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-national-anthem-20160901-snap-story.html in regards to hurl comments, yeah, the cops is not helping, but typical we are talking 'bout off-duty cops "policing" games. the actual department stance on such stuff is a bit more enlightened. http://www.mercurynews.com/49ers-stadium/ci_30326623/santa-clara-police-chief-urges-officers-protect-public HA! Good Fun!
  15. ... were that a funny on bruce? 'course the ultimate horror journey/destination o' any tom hanks film were clear overlooked *shudder* HA! Good Fun!
  16. the media, as a whole, were helping kaepernick, a back-up qb who has literal thrown away a very promising football career these past few years, from making himself look like an idiot. when initial questioned 'bout his impromptu protest, kaepernick explained 'bout evil cops and bodies piling up in the streets, but he also rambled on 'bout the Presidential candidates, and NFL ownership and whatever else seemed to pop into his head. when pressed 'bout his own experiences with racism, he offered up a lochte-esque story o' police barging into his home and aiming guns at him and his college football roommates for no reason other than that they were the only african-americans in the neighborhood. the media coulda' made this guy look utter ridiculous, and sure, a few folks in the media has taken kaepernick to task, but the media, as a whole, has given this guy a pass. comparisons to muhammad ali and jackie robinson is comical misplaced for the guy who were wearing his pigs-dressed-as-cops socks in the weeks leading up to his national anthem protest. immature and uneducated. kaepernick's protest were the classical dumb jock doing something predictable dumb, but in this day and age, calling out the kaepernicks for their stoopidity is likely gonna get you labeled as a racist, or worse. 'course our biggest issue with kaepernick's protest were not the non-existent free speech issue *snort* or the way kaepernick were handled with kid gloves by the majority o' media outlets. nope. our big problem is both kaepernick and the media is seeming missing a fundamental flaw in such a protest being directed at the USA. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/84558-nfl-2016-season/?p=1839274 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/88037-dallas-sniper-shootings/?p=1830101 unlike many other western nations, our police is not maintained by the national government. we got state cops and county cops and city cops, and we got a Constitution that specific reserves police power to individual states. there is actual very little the USA can do 'bout police behaviors in california or missouri or illinois. the media got distracted and helped perpetuate ignorance and myth. blm has purposeful avoided specific leadership. am seeing positives from this, but the negative is the media is desperate to give a face and a voice to the movement. regardless o' the insights o' kaepernick, those in the media who support blm use the backup qb to make a point, just as does those who find blm fundamental flawed. kaepernick's protest, which to his credit has morphed and streamlined a bit, is largely incidental to the continuing media debate regarding blm. ... but to echo gd (sorta) there ain't no free speech issue at play insofar is the kaepernick debate is concerned. kaepernick ain't being denied speech By The Government. am constant baffled when we see folks reference first amendment free speech on these boards. get fired by an employer for shouting anti-semitic slurs at customers is not a first amendment free speech issue-- thank goodness. a parent "grounds" their child for using profanity is not a first amendment free speech issue. a game developer cancels an interview with codex is not a free speech issue... first amendment or otherwise. *shakes head* gonna have a hard time finding a more ardent supporter o' free speech than Gromnir, but just 'cause folks don't wanna listen to your nonsense is hardly creating a free speech issue. you believe strongly in... whatever? then go ahead and speak. thanks to the First Amendment, State consequences, limits and punishments o' speech is largely verboten... and god bless america for that protection o' a fundamental liberty, 'cause the rest o' the western world is far less interested in individual speech protections. even so, only the most obtuse kinda yutz is believing that speakers is deserving to be insulated from the ordinary and every day consequences o' their speech. HA! Good Fun!
  17. http://www.vintag.es/2016/08/these-16-vintage-drivers-licenses-of.html HA! Good Fun!
  18. if it makes you feel better, history suggests that the eagles will likely bungle the pick(s) they got for bradford. HA! Good Fun!
  19. scientists? HA! Good Fun!
  20. The metric system is awesome; everything divisible by ten. Soccer, on the other hand, still sucks. Inductive reasoning tells me that Soccer must not be divisible by ten. Eleven players on each team and single digit scores. Yep, this checks out. am guessing one could say that Gromnir likes soccer, but is kinda the same way we like fireworks displays. once or twice a year, likely as part o' a quasi-patriotic obligation, we watch fireworks... or soccer. more than 20 minutes o' slight variations o' the same thing being done over and over gets pretty freaking monotonous be it fireworks or soccer. as with both fireworks and soccer, the best part is seeing the kids enjoy themselves, yes? like it? ok, but only in small doses. HA! Good Fun!
  21. sleep is overrated... unless you have gone a few days w/o sleep. ... is actual the biggest difference 'tween Gromnir 2016 and Gromnir 1996. in 20s and early 30s, allnighters were something we did without enjoyment but w/o concern. we go a couple days without sleep nowadays and we become sock puppet guy. HA! Good Fun!
  22. am not thinking the list is a ranking, and yeah, first 1/2 is clear avoiding the genuine horror flicks... though am not sure how to deal with practical magic as it ain't a kid's movie neither. am gonna stay with halloween specific as the theme, as 'posed to horror, and note that we forgot et. HA! Good Fun!
  23. am also planning on seeing their new release. is odd for us 'cause is not the kinda film we take a date to, and most o' our friends with whom we see movies ain't fans o' animated. might have to go solo, which always feels strange. HA! Good Fun! ps will also observe that we much enjoy cartoon saloon's work. the secret of the kells and song of the sea both got narrative flaws, but is wonderfully animated.
  24. “if you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough” --mark grace, cubs first baseman americans love baseball. *shrug* HA! Good Fun!
  25. ed wood to kill a mockingbird song of the sea kramer v. kramer arsenic and old lace paranorman and of course, showgirls. all set around halloween. am a particular fan o' paranorman. the soundtrack for paranorman is also one o' our current favorites, regardless o' the holiday theme and/or setting. HA! Good Fun! edit: changed mind on video... went short. apologies
