ah. doesn't matter how is the rest o' the day 'cause we got our dammit jim! and dirty balls from the culinerdy cruzer. as a side, we prefer hulk fries or brocodile for pretty much any other burger or sandwich on the menu, but the bleu cheese from the dammit jim! burger so perfect compliments the brussels sprouts that the combination is a no-brainer for Gromnir. is good to indulge our more plebeian cravings from time-to-time. the mongols did pretty well. HA! Good Fun! -
*chuckle* am recalling when our grandfather decided we should at least attempt public school. almost two hour bus ride each way, and our interpersonal skills were clear deficient when dealing with angry little kids who were getting daily indoctrination from parents who did not much approve o' the reservation located adjacent to their respectable community. our first school experience weren't toddler, but we were kindergarten or first grade... am not actual certain as the experiment didn't last too long. regardless, we came home and our grandfather asked us how were school. am not recalling our answer, but it were, for all intents and purposes, "I gave daddy a big hug, and he went away, and I was sad." the next day we didn't need go to school. instead we were directed to do all o' our least favorite chores, including cleaning out horse stalls. ankle deep in horse and pig sh1t for hours. grandfather then asks if we wanna go to school tomorrow, or stay home and do more chores-- were our choice. school, please. ... such parenting might explain a few o' our personality quirks. HA! Good Fun!

well, sometimes the dialogue in the movie being dubbed is just that bad. also, translations and voice actors is expensive. for a miyazaki animated film that disney is gonna release outside o' Japan, they spare little expense for good voice actors. not so much the case for guardians, eh? whenever medical issues and the Presidency arise, our first thought is not fdr, but is kennedy http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/08/the-medical-ordeals-of-jfk/309469/ http://www.nytimes.com/1992/10/06/health/the-doctor-s-world-disturbing-issue-of-kennedy-s-secret-illness.html?pagewanted=all http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,393754,00.html it were a different time, but kennedy bold-faced lied 'bout his addisons on numerous occasions. during the heated democratic nomination, lbj had private investigators dig up proof that jfk had addisons, and kennedy lied multiple times. claimed war injuries. kennedy actual represents a medical milestone as he is the first recorded patient with addisons to survive major surgery. kennedy didn't wanna be confined to a wheelchair, so he got back surgery that predictable resulted in complications. nevertheless, kennedy survived. can't imagine such stuff being successful hidden today, but looking at the nonsense from both trump and clinton camps regarding their respective health, perhaps we is being naive. side note: jfk's presidency were so fascinating. he became some kinda liberal folk hero, but when he ran 'gainst nixon the focus o' his campaign were the russian threat and how eisenhower and the republicans had allowed the military to become weak. honest. the foundation 'o his campaign were the need to resist the soviet threat, and a belief that a credible military power to deny commie encroachments 'cross the globe were essential to maintaining the American way o' life. civil rights? *chuckle* mlk SR. would not support kennedy 'cause jfk were a papist. weren't 'til the feds arrested mlk JR. late during the Presidential race that kennedy managed to get african american support. were days that nobody public knew where mlk jr was being held. for chrissakes, jfk were running with lbj, whom he loathed, precisely 'cause he needed the southern democratic vote, and most african-americans at the time were republican. so instead o' having bobby use his doj influence to track down and release mlk jr., kennedy opts to send a letter o' support to mlk jr.'s wife. that's all. didn't wanna offend white democrats in the south. and that letter is what possible won kennedy the election-- an empty letter o' condolence. mlk's wife does a radio interview and thanks kennedy. the kennedy campaign then prints out copies o' kennedy's letter and the transcripts o' the radio broadcast from mrs. mlk and then the campaign floods southern black communities with paper. and that is how kennedy became an advocate o' civil rights? when vote for Presidency takes place, jfk's campaign were actual shocked by how relative poor he were doing in catholic districts, but were equal surprised by how well he were doing with african-american demographic. in an extreme close election, an impotent letter o' condolence made the difference? possible. kennedy presidency were fascinating and curious... particular given how jfk is actual remembered. HA! Good Fun! ps edit: added a couple more kennedy health articles

bosa not signing with sd makes little economic sense. sit out a year and he won't go top 3 next year. even if bosa believes the sd offer is bad, whatever deal he gets this year will be better than what he gets offered next year. plus, money is worth more today than it is tomorrow. the millions he earns now, invested, will already be generating considerable income over the course o' the year. from an economics standpoint, there is no way bosa walks away from this as a winner. he lost the best deal he were gonna get, and now he can only mitigate his losses. 'course, these kinda negotiations is rare just 'bout the economics. am guessing that bosa would rather lose a big pile o' money than cave to sd's demands. will be interesting to see how this plays out. edit: a more balanced bosa article than we is seeing at espn and elsewhere. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2016/08/25/whos-to-blame-for-the-chargers-joey-bosa-fiasco-everyone/ HA! He offered recipes. What good is your advice if I still need other recipes to use it? Good day to you, sir. GOOD DAY am tempted to state the obvious. ... nope. HA! Good Fun!

YOU GIVE, YOU GIVE NOW to make a soup recipe a low-sodium soup recipe is easy even for culinary challenged. 2 steps. 1) replace stock in recipe with "low sodium" variant. 2) use kosher salt for dashes or pinches or whatnot. that's it. low sodium beef, chicken, vegetable, ham, turkey and fish stocks tend to taste like arse. you can make your own and they will taste better than pre-made varieties, but they is still gonna be less flavorful as salt is a taste enhancer. stock is kinda the foundation o' any non-cream soup. also, use the kosher salt 'cause individual crystals is much larger and you is actual getting far less salt in a pinch or dash or even standard measurements when utilizing kosher salt as 'posed to traditional table salt. simple, no? HA! Good Fun! ps if you chose to not make your own stock, be wary o' claims that a pre-made stock is actual "low sodium." call something "low sodium" doesn't make it true. check labels close for salt content. pps if a recipe calls for canned tomatoes, use fresh instead... dice and remove seeds. recommend roma. example: https://food52.com/recipes/35254-frances-moore-lappe-s-lentils-monastery-style no can tomatoes. and use low sodium stock. got yourself a low sodium soup. almost the same as our monastery lentils. skip the swiss cheese and perhaps use small amount o' quality shredded Parmesan post cooking to keep salt as low as possible.

You know Grom, you do have another option that is a viable candidate and on the ballot in all 50 states this year. Only three candidates can say that. Given your line of work that 3rd option might even be attractive. Yes the odds are long, but they are not zero and good things can come even from a loss this time. Just sayin'. our certainty that trump won't win needs be absolute before we consider voting for a 3rd party candidate. we marveled when folks acted as if sanders supporters and sanders himself giving clinton their support was some kinda mortal sin. "how could you?" how? why? 'cause the freaking alternative is trump. duh. if our voting 3rd party has any chance o' resulting in a trump presidency, we would be irresponsible in doing so. the good news is that trump will be able to accomplish virtual 0 o' his domestic goals. everything he wants to do is either blatant unconstitutional, or is a job for Congress or individual States. trump will be impotent, particularly as he is Not a consensus building candidate. liberals will be unified 'gainst him, and he is gonna split conservatives. doomed. bad news is that once trump discovers that his domestic efforts is stymied by his own nature and by the federal system itself, he will possible become more concerned with foreign affairs. the President has broad powers when dealing with foreign nations, and regardless o' what some believe, the US is still the most powerful economic and military force on the planet. trump as President scares us. he should scare you too. 3rd party? sure, just so long as chance o' trump victory is zero. HA! Good Fun!

trump is a businessman. am not sure if he is a competent businessman w/o seeing his taxes, but he is a businessman. some businessmen likes to micromanage, or to at least know the details o' the business. other businessmen is just kinda "big picture" managers. these kinda guys don't worry the details 'cause they has hired the right guys to worry the details for 'em. trump not need to know geology or architecture or legal or even plumbing, 'cause he gots geologists, architects, lawyers and plumbers to deal with problems when they arise. is all big picture for trump as he believes he can identify the right kinda folks to get the little jobs done. debt crisis, blm, healthcare... whatever. those is all little jobs. get the right people to do those jobs, yes? that's how Reagan did things, right? ... as we don't have tax returns, we don't actual know what kinda businessman is trump. we know his dad were one o' the ten wealthiest guys in the US and we know that trump isn't. we do know that trump has had paid 0 taxes multiple times. we know that there were some shenanigans regarding the identity o' his tax preparer for at least one of his returns. we wanna see returns. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/15/new-evidence-donald-trump-didn-t-pay-taxes.html gonna keep linking. am not sure why trump supporters ain't more concerned. oh, and Reagan's approach did work for the first half o' his first term, 'cause for all intents and purposes, Congress were working for the President at that time. got elected with an overwhelming mandate from the people, and Congress responded. the folks that actual make Law in this country is Congress. President has broad powers when it comes to international affairs, but domestic issues is handled by Congress... and the career bureaucrats who is functionally insulated from the executive. Reagan always had difficulty with the bureaucracy, but at the start o' his Presidency, Congress danced to his tune. trump don't have anywhere near the overwhelming support that did Reagan. sure, at the start o' his campaign, Reagan were also a washington outsider who seemed to the media more like a joke candidate. and why would they view him as anything other than a joke? people would ask Reagan a hard question and he would respond with an anecdote 'bout a movie or his summer as a lifeguard or whatever. is kinda baffling that it worked for Reagan, but trump's approach is different. when asked a tough question, trump acts as if the solution is obvious, and that the questioner is an idiot or part o' a (The?) media conspiracy to destroy trump. if forced to respond, he observes that he will put the best people on the problem, perhaps ivanka. ... clinton is a moderate career politician and we would not typical consider voting for her. too much skeevy self-interest and the clintons has always had a strained relationship with the truth. that being said, as a President's real power is foreign affairs, we believe that clinton will actual be a capable executive. as much as many folks in the US despise clinton, her popularity beyond our borders is much better. *shrug* trump is... ever seen a car accident just before it happens? as often as not, the first indication you got that a car accident happened is the sound o' car horns immediate followed by the loud crash as two or more cars slam into each other with bone shattering force. but sometimes you actual see the accident unfold. you see the guy pull his el camino into the bike lane and accelerate into an intersection in spite o' the fact that he gots a red light. is literal nothing you can do to stop the guy, but you know what is gonna happen. you cringe. your whole body tenses. you await the crash. trump is the guy in the el camino, but the accident is happening in slow motion and can easily be stopped. inexplicably, more than 1/3 o' the americans watching the developing accident is cheering trump forward. oh, and tax returns. HA! Good Fun!

http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/88086-us-election-2016-part-iii/?p=1828131 either trump has no basic understanding o' the powers o' the Executive, or he is counting on the ignorance o' the American public regarding the fundamentals o' the federal government. HA! Good Fun!

to be fair, the women's high jump were a train wreck. four women made 1.97. then all four failed to make 2.0. really? you got each woman making 3 attempts at 2.0 and failing. twelve attempts. nobody expected that gold would be won at 1.97. gold, silver and bronze were all the result o' a 1.97 jump. folks in booth musta been shocked. HA! Good Fun!

our migraines is actual under control and we don't take opioids to treat. migraines (with aura) is a different beast from what most folks think o' as migraine, and aspirin is 'bout as effective as pez candy for treating. 'course opiates is no more effective than aspirin in our experience. a LONG time ago (+25 years) we had doctors prescribe vicodin for migraines. pointless. newer treatments is all 'bout stopping the "cycle of pain." if you can stop a migraine when the early symptoms first reveal themselves, you can take meds that prevent the migraine from fully developing. such meds ain't really painkillers however. https://www.drugs.com/maxalt.html in the past, we got migraines 1 per month, like clockwork. extreme discomfort followed by 2-3 days huddled in a dark room recovering. miserable. then, as we got older, frequency dropped to once every three months. last year or so has been once every six months. we got good results from our meds, so 70% o' the time is no worse than what most folks would think o' as a horrible headache. *chuckle* the kinda scary thing 'bout migraine with aura is that the early symptoms for us (and many others) is near identical to stroke... save for smelling toast burning. have hit an age when we gotta serious wonder if Gromnir is having migraine or stroke. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70860-what-you-did-today/?p=1586971 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70860-what-you-did-today/?p=1586991 haven't seen lady crimson on boards for awhile. kinda worried that she found no relief from migraines. name is misleading. folks hear migraine with aura and they think is just a bad headache. that can be true, but more often there is other symptoms and the degree o' headache pain after the initial onset symptoms is a whole different monster from the "migraines" folks take tylenol or aspirin to find relief. https://americanmigrainefoundation.org/living-with-migraines/types-of-headachemigraine/migraine-and-aura/ HA! To be fair, I doubt a lot of left leaning sources are going to roast Politifact for being biased in favour of them. And why should they be doubted just because their findings don't jive with a particular candidate? Whether they are biased or not, they have a methodology and are open and transparent with each of their "fact checks." They explain and source why they come to a particular judgment. Yes, Republicans are on top of their liars list, and Democrats are on the bottom. But, there are truthful Republicans that do very well. It just so happens that the pants on fire Republicans tend to be the demagogues --Trump, Bachmann, Cruz, Gingrich, and Palin. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2013/nov/01/principles-politifact-punditfact-and-truth-o-meter/ am not sure if we can describe politifact as having a methodology. it is pretty darn subjective. difference 'tween placement o' a claim in one o' two categories is gonna be the result o' a fuzzy kinda internal calculus rather than anything that can be objective discerned. more fundamental is how, or if, a particular claims is chosen to be checked at all. http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/peter-roff/2013/05/28/study-finds-fact-checkers-biased-against-republicans http://www.npr.org/2012/01/10/144974110/political-fact-checking-under-fire trump simple talks out his arse, so is unsurprising when his claims is rated as false, but there has been more than a few liberal political leaders that would appear to get benefit o' the doubt that conservatives do not. HA! Good Fun! ps is worth noting that the washington post fact checker, a source also accused o' liberal bias, notes that their earned pinocchio tally is close to even as 'tween dems and pubs.

is kinda sad to see that the kids, and even some o' the older customers, got no idea what a unique experience they is witness to. oh well. HA! Good Fun!

am skipping the food trucks today. friday we hit up the bacon mania truck in town, so an additional food truck splurge two days later would be, for us, excessive. next friday and sunday will present a moral conundrum for us as the culinerdy cruzer will be near on friday, but the sunday lineup in our community is excellent. choices. and thanks to all for the feedback. am guessing that Gromnir is one o' the lucky/unlucky bastards that don't have the brain chemistry to experience euphoria from opiates, but have always wondered what the fuss were 'bout. am guessing it is good that we don't need worry 'bout addiction, but somehow we feel like we got cheated. HA! Good Fun!

we got a couple o' med conditions that have us being prescribed painkillers. one positive is that the frequency with which we suffer migraines with aura has decreased as we has gotten older, 'cause those result in a whole different kinda pain for us. regardless, for other problems, we is prescribed nerve-pain meds and opiates seeming by the pound. muscle relaxants is also frequent visitors in our med cabinet. not current, but for a considerable period o' time we were using three fentanyl patches at a time (two smaller and one bigger) to deal with some... issues. am not talking small pain issues. ok, the reason why we bring up is 'cause we has always been curious. clear we got some experience taking pain meds, and am always curious how folks get psychological addicted to pain meds. the low-end nerve pain stuff such a gabapentin has very few side effects, but am never quite certain if they is doing anything. more aggressive nerve pain drugs is usual o' the anti-depressant group, but in smaller dosages. such drugs has annoying side effects, but they never make one feel good. the notion o' craving nerve pain meds strikes us as ridiculous. opioids and muscle relaxants such as dilaudid is different than the nerve-pain meds. we took powerful pain med injections in college when we played football, and those could instant distance oneself from pain, but the thing is, for us, we has never felt good as the result o' taking pain meds. see tv and movies where people act all blissed and satisfied while taking oxy is beyond our comprehension. at best, pain meds smother our discomfort. is as if pillows is being added 'tween Gromnir and pain. the pain never complete goes away, but it becomes subdued and distant. meanwhile, we got the mild-to-moderate unpleasant feeling o' being... smothered. feel slower and heavier and bad. even so, as unpleasant as opioids in particular make us feel, at least we can get sleep thanks to 'em. our point is that we don't comprehend the addiction to opioids we hear o' other patients being addicted or see stuff as shown in media. am not understanding the cravings for pain killers as they has never made us feel good. sure, we understand withdrawal and headaches and all the physiological stuff that accompanies addiction to such meds, but we has never been "hooked" on such drugs 'cause we sure as heck have never experienced any kinda high from pain killers. asked a doctor or two and they simple tell us that different folks react different. am also having pain levels that seeming preclude the possibility o' getting high given the meds we is on... or so we is told. *shrug* am not wanting anybody to put themselves in a legal quandary, but if somebody could describe a high from opioids or other painkillers, we wouldn't mind hearing. does folks actual feel good from oxy/percocet, or is that just tv/movie stuff? as we noted, for us, painkillers make us feel, at best, dull. craving for such dullness is beyond our ken. thanks

we got boarder collies, and they is smart... for dogs. even so, we might balk at voting for either o' our canines. the smarter o' our two borders eats p00p and is terrified o' the sounds that hot air balloons make. HA! Good Fun!

kinda depends on how you count. 82 medals in the last olympics were good enough for third mostest. 2016 medal total for russia were 56. russian 2016 gold total also decreased from 2012 mark by 1/5... smidgen more. am thinking the east german judge is having more number troubles. HA! Good Fun!

dunno if it is the same for others, but our squirrel issue is reversed. from trees (we have rather enormous redwoods in abundance in our backyard), fences and rooftops, the rodents taunt our dogs, chittering and banging their little squirrel fists. am not certain why the squirrels always seem so angry, but clear they is enraged or fearful. when the squirrels fight with each other on our roof at 5 am, our dogs react to the sound, but they mostly ignore the squirrels they see. found out recent that our neigh-bore is actual purposeful feeding the dirty little beggars. for awhile we thought that perhaps our gardeners were droping peanut shells all over our yard as we has seen 'em eating peanuts while they work. (kinda surprises us. am knowing peanuts is cheap, particular bought in bulk, but they make Gromnir thirsty. last thing we want while we is sweating our way towards heatstroke in sac valley heat is a food that is gonna make us feel more parched.) however, the gardeners do not discard the shells in our yard. the squirrels is less fastidious. HA! Good Fun!
