  1. as an alternative, we suggest ac/dc's "highway to hell"... on bagpipes. HA! Good Fun!
  2. been a while since we did swtor pvp. we got one elite warlord character and a couple in the 90 valor range, but has been literal years since we pvp'd, and never on harbinger. for our marauder to reach valor 5 and satisfy the DvL requirement took two warzones. am thinking the valor awards is a bit inflated compared to our recollection. am certain the curve flattens a bit, but we still were expecting a need to complete a couple more warzones. two. hardly a burden. 'cause o' the influence and gear farming available from ad nauseam tactical (but solo) runs o' esseles or black talon, we has made the process o' leveling a new character as dull as is possible. our cheapskate instincts is strong and the most frugal route to influence 50 with a starting companion is too much for us to ignore. heck, with the new xp bonus armour, we bypass much combat in esseles and still gain 2-3 levels per run 'til we get into the mid level 30s. we cannot resist the speedy leveling/gearing/influence option o' tactical fp solo runs, but after completing esseles or bt +20 times, we is understandably fatigued by swtor. can't blame on bioware, but am fatigued regardless. HA! Good Fun!
  3. [image) Best spot in Copenhagen for my money, nothing beats proper italian icecream. response: meat. HA! Good Fun!
  4. y'know, we actual experienced a wave o' nausea when we thought 'bout hot summer football. reminded us o' two-a-days. is kinda amusing how mere memory can produce physical sensations. *chuckle* the one good thing 'bout the cba is it put an end to the old skool coaches toughening up their players during summers. current practice limits means we got no more jim mora nonsense. saints summer practices under mora resembled scenes from the old MASH tv show. many pro football summer practice sites would include a kinda tent triage. depending on how traditional were a coach, you could have a dozen or so guys on military cots hooked up to iv fluid bags... daily. stoopid. HA! Good Fun! ps we do not miss summer football. not one bit.
  5. am recollecting that the pilot were filmed in and around pittsburgh, pa. dunno if that helps or hurts you. HA! Good Fun! ps western pennsylvania is very much a part o' appalachia. that means that during the summers you got frequent thunderstorms. am suspecting that weather is a major contributing factor as to why so many shows is filmed in california. got diverse ca geography, but for the most part, the rains stop in spring and don't come back til mid-fall. am guessing that eastern kentucky weather during summer is not gonna make it easy to maintain a film schedule.
  6. no My understanding is they can stop the car, order the driver out and search the driver and may apply the "plain sight" rule to the car but it stops there. Anything else needs either a search warrant, consent of the owner, or a hell of a probable cause. On that note let me ask you a question. One of the exceptions that grants probable cause is what the police call a "protection search" for weapons. In Tennessee we have a "duty to notify" rule that compels us to inform the police we are dealing with if we are carrying a concealed weapon, if they ask. So if I'm carrying (I do have a permit) and inform them I am does that give them the cause for the protection search? homes get a different level o' scrutiny. this is the reason why mobile homes has occupied a considerable amount o' space in judicial decisions. we could explain just how wrong you is, but would probable just be easier for you to check for your self. regardless, homes is different. so, "no." sorry. is as simple as that. HA! Good Fun!
  7. am kinda conflicted 'bout robbie robertson and eric clapton. both is d-bags, but we can't help but enjoy their music. HA! Good Fun!
  8. well, the bug whereby DvL rewards were not being added to collections has now been fixed. with our chap xvi run o' kotfe complete, we has now unlocked eternal (?) level o' DvL, which we believe is the necessary requirement for the new companion. gonna double-check on that point and then probable go back into swtor hibernation for a bit. HA! Good Fun!
  9. we did watch BvS a couple weeks ago and we thought it were ok. it sure as heck weren't the craptacular p00pfest we were expecting based on feedback from these boards. with a certain amount o' trepidation, we viewed the extended cut and it ain't as if we were staring at our watch praying for the movie to end. any superhero movie is gonna have difficulty standing up to scrutiny when the plot is dissected. for chrissakes, batman is an utter ridiculous character when viewed w/o the benefit o' the entire dc universe mythology to give context. shortcomings we would never accept in other genres o' film get little more than a momentary eye-roll from Gromnir when we watching a superhero flick. nevertheless, in spite o' numerous shortcomings, the movie were watchable and enjoyable. on the downside, lex luthor's BvS machinations were beyond the pale for us and while lex's The Plan and eisenberg's manic portrayal o' the character did hurt the movie, we nevertheless enjoyed the film. eisenberg watched 12 monkeys too many times to prep for the film? did a good impersonation o' jeffrey goines or perhaps beetlejuice. we were pleasant surprised with ben affleck's performance, though a murderous and easily manipulated batman struck us as a curious choice for the writers and director to be making. batman's real superpower in the comics and previous films is that he is the ultimate chess master. he may not be the smartest guy in the dc universe, but he is typical two or three moves ahead o' any opponent. by comparison, BvS batman were a violent checker player. affleck managed to sell us on his darker and dumber batman. and yeah, wonder woman were complete unnecessary in BvS, but am understanding how her inclusion were meant to promote her own upcoming movie. gadot weren't terrible in her extreme limited screen time, even if we still got serious reservations 'bout her casting and her seeming lack o' dedication to the role. honest, how tough is it to add a few pounds o' quality muscle? and if it were too tough for her to do so, why cast a waif supermodel for the role? silliness. superman has always been one our least favorite superheroes, and henry cavill's wooden portrayal did little to make us change our mind 'bout the character. *shrug* emo superman's raison d'être were to make batman seems better by comparison? dunno. as much as we dislike superman as a character, we nevertheless enjoyed the film. again, we saw blu-ray extended cut o' BvS, which were +3 hours, and we weren't bored. how bad could the movie be to keep us engaged that long? HA! Good Fun!
  10. am thinking that you actual has made a rather scathing denouncement o' gary johnson. no person who has ever achieved greatness has done so without being cast in the role o' villain. gandhi, mlk and even mother teresa has been denounced as villains. in our mind, failure to find approval o' any villainous group suggests lack o' conviction and a failure to have accomplished anything worthy o' angered criticism. HA! Good Fun!
  11. lacrosse is big on the east coast and getting increasing popular nationwide. is, ironic, a rich white kid sport in the US. eastern universities field exceptional lacrosse teams and the national championships get considerable tv coverage from espn. has not been an olympic sport for something near 100 years. HA! Good Fun! ps jim brown were arguable the greatest college lacrosse player who just kinda happened to play football. video Huh, the more you know. I have only seen it on the TV, never in real life. there is a world championship for lacrosse every year. am recalling when it were held in england(?) a few years back there were a passport issue for the Iroquois Nationals. ... found it http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/17/sports/17lacrosse.html?_r=0 were a real shame. http://iroquoisnationals.org/ HA! Good Fun!

  13. for most of Gromnir's life, women's sevens rugby leagues in the US has been, we kid you not, touch, not tackle. is sorta like women's lacrosse differing from the men's sport. any number o' colleges and universities gots women rugby as club sports, and they is typical sevens if only 'cause they don't have the numbers to field union. at Cal we had a women's team. were touch at least at one point. "chicks dig scars," were understandable less o' a selling point when attempting to recruit women to a rugby team. although, in the bay area... ... truth-to-tell, sandlot touch rugby is a good workout and kinda fun. with few people, is no scrums... or even kicking. not need more than eight people to field two sides. as much as we like football (real American football) we enjoy touch rugby more than touch football. am getting too old and brittle for tackle sports. gotta be dull to watch touch sports though... almost as bad as women's lacrosse. HA! Good Fun! ps keep in mind that even men's rugby in the US is only a club sport at the collegiate level. no scholarships or such. any decent female athlete is gonna choose something else.
  14. am hoping brie ain't a method actor. alcoholism. coma. a weird pregnancy with a time-lord which we only vague recall and do not wanna look up the details. etc. am knowing that all comic characters that endure for decades is gonna evolve, but the writers has been all over the map with carol danvers. goes from classic damsel in distress existing only to be saved by mar-vel to, even w/o her powers, a test pilot extraordinaire who also happens to be a secret agent who makes james bond seem positive inept by comparison. am thinking sometimes the comic writers try too hard to make it painful obvious that their female heroine is a strong woman, and end up with a character that is... cartoonish. 'course once you write yourself over-the-top powerful character, you gotta give her a weakness to humanize her, and so we get the marvelous alcoholism that comes and goes depending on the writer's whims. am not near the comic fan that some folks 'round these parts is, so perhaps we is missing something 'bout ms. marvel/captain marvel. marvel universe's power girl pinup? am actual hopeful that brie doesn't do too much r&d. am thinking that this is one o' those opportunities where a movie iteration has a chance to much improve the print version o' a character. HA! Good Fun!
  15. the font? ... font? HA! Good Fun!
  16. what about the dragons that wear captain hats? tennille divorced daryl "captain" dragon in 2014. the divorce came as a surprise to dragon who were diagnosed with neurological disorder a few years earlier. love did not keep them together. made us actual feel bad for a dragon. HA! Good Fun! ps we kinda wish our last name were dragon.
  17. when we imagine spencer, we always think o' the one o' those comically english officers from ww2 movies. the guys with the pencil thin mustache. pale to the point o' looking sickly. perhaps a bit mousy but impeccably dressed. will be the one officer trying to advise against ________ and he ends up being right in spite of the fact everybody ignored him. spencer coggins digglesworth... or somesuch. always spencer though. we can actual think o' more than a handful o' spencers beyond tracy. is a few american football players (living and dead) who is spencers, and we were an acquaintance o' a norcal fed judge by name on spencer. 'course there were the spencer davis group o' early steve winwood fame. don't know spencer davis group? yes you do. HA! Good Fun!
  18. is not all that complicated in this instance. no ruling. iran were seeking $10 billion via arbitration at the hague. the curious timed settlement 'tween US and iran would send $1.7 billion to iran. $400 million were first payment o' the settlement... which obama claimed had nothing whatsoever to do with the nuke deal or the prisoner release. HA! Good Fun!
  19. alien is a horror film that is light on science, but we get your meaning... sorta. we has always maintained that the genre labels o' scifi and fantasy were conjured up by pulp magazine editors in the early/mid 20th century and that the basis for such a distinction were commercial. john carter were scifi 'cause were set on mars and 'cause there were aliens and ray guns n' stuff. tolkien's work were fantasy 'cause it had wizards and dragons. labels give fans a general notion o' content between covers o' the book or 'zine. tolkien would claim that he were creating myth and not fantasy. edgar rice burroughs woulda' rolled eyes at folks quibbling over the inanity o' labeling when the real question worthy o' debate would be why he got paid so little to inspire so many. all fiction is the result o' the author attempting to give shape to the "fictive dream." the labels is having commercial value, but we not see much point in trying to distinguish the genres. “i have never listened to anyone who criticized my taste in space travel, sideshows or gorillas. when this occurs, i pack up my dinosaurs and leave the room.”- ray bradbury HA! Good Fun!
  20. manifested will likely burst a blood vessel if you don't at least mention star wars. HA! Good Fun! ps am much surprised that edge of tomorrow didn't do better at the box office. we don't much like tom cruise, and we realize that the premise is groundhog day as re-imagined in some kinda japanese novel (maybe?) but it is one o' our recent favorite sci-fi/adventure films.
  21. maybe stop by for the lemonade event on august 20, but am admitting that red robin is not our usual burger destination. either dad's kitchen for an excellent 1/2 bleu cheese burger http://ilovedadskitchen.com/ or the culinerdy cruzer for a "Dammit Jim!" and a side of brussel sprouts. http://www.nerdytruck.com/menu.html HA! Good Fun!
  22. dunno. always expected manifested to be, y'know, taller. HA! Good Fun!
  23. be sure to fill-out one o' those customer service surveys. reason for choosing sandals: fatigue. well, enjoy a red stripe... or two. no doubt shady is already a beautiful man, but... HA! Good Fun!
  24. the captain? am admitting that we still give captain america an edge over the new captain marvel... oldie marvel marvel is actually mar-vel in our book. even so, when ranking top three captains, they is as follows. 3) the captain o' captain and tenille. the former beach boys keyboardist deserves #3 spot if only 'cause leonard nimoy were a guest on the captain and tenille show. has captain marvel ever worked with spock? no? 2) derek "the captain" jeter married hannah davis 1) captain caveman speaks for itself. brie should be so lucky as to eventual earn consideration 'mongst such luminaries. HA! Good Fun!
