  1. I won't speak for anyone else but I don't think you personally need to apologize for anything. I think that Obsidian should have been more transparent in what was going on though. Backers should have gotten keys before anyone else. That didn't happen and when it didn't happen Obsidian should have been in front of that situation explaining why. We still don't really know why. At the end of the day, I don't think anyone is going to be upset, backer wise, as long as they have the game pre-loaded and ready to play when it unlocks. They did explain. BAdler stated in a post the exact reason why Steam is pre-loading; ie, because they had to tell Steam to turn on pre-loading so our keys could actually work once given to us, and once Steam turned on pre-loading everybody who had pre-ordered automatically started pre-loading. If they hadn't told Steam to turn on pre-loading, then our keys would not work until tomorrow morning. You not know is not the same as them not communicating. I read that post and it did not communicate *why* the backers did not have keys yet, but the Steam purchasers did. It just explained the decision to enable pre-loading (which I am fine with). My money was spent years ago, at the very least I expected to get a key at the same time as someone who ordered on Steam a minute ago. That didn't happen and for all of the BAdler posts, that still has not been explained.

  3. I disagree. If I pre-order a game digitally I expect to be able to pre-load. All else being equal, why pre-order? In this particular case you have the backers who paid for this game years ago not being able to pre-load yet while someone who bought the game a minute ago on Steam, can. I have a problem with that. But mostly I just want to hear what is going on. Like I said earlier, obviously there was a problem, I guarantee Obsidian did not set out to have joe gamer be able to preload from a Steam purchase before their backers. But they should be bending over backwards communicating what the issue is and when they expect to have it resolved.
  4. So, what is the latest? Obviously there was a problem distributing the backer keys, when is this expected to be resolved? This is an issue Obsidian should be communicating better on.
  5. Steam down now too? It is for me.
  6. I enjoyed the video, though my preference for stuff like this is definitely text and not videos. Sensuki has been a fantastic advocate for this game and I think Obsidian should comp him the 10K KS tier and use that visit for a job interview. Look at what he has done on his own. What would he do on the payroll?
  7. Ok I have not ever followed a game on a Steam forum pre-release but still... Looking at the forums now http://steamcommunity.com/app/291650/discussions/ it seems like half the threads, are more, are just bull**** questioning the price or the legacy or Obsidian or the lack of romances or any number of other things. So many haters.
  8. Does the full game not have any kind of tutorial? I consider myself an IE veteran and 'good' at playing all of those games but the first time I played POE, I wiped on my first fight on Normal.
  9. IMO he should be focused on getting into the playoffs, not streaming POE.
  10. How come the Steam discussion forums for POE are so riddled with butt hurt trolls? I can't say that Steam discussion forums are my message board of choice but I generally hit them up at one point or another for any game I play that I have more than a passing interest in, which is a lot of games, and I honestly can not recall a game forum that had a worse signal to noise ratio. Literally every other thread is someone bitching. About the price or SP only or no romances or the dev studio or the combat system or the fact that it is/is not a BG/IE successor etc. etc. What is going on there?
  11. Thanks man, this was what I was missing. I thought there might have been a command required to enable cheats and I googled for it but didn't find anything. And I was able to do some stuff via the console, or at least the zoom setting changes, without IRoll20s.
  12. I feel like a dumbass for not being able to figure this out but...playing build 480 and trying to test different weapons/specs to see what I want to play in the final game. I have tried to use 'AddItem', but its not working. As an example I hit ~ and get the console with the message saying Press Enter to input a command, then I hit enter type, 'AddItem blunderbuss_fine 1' I get a message in the combat log telling me no command or script "AddItem" accepting 2 parameters exists. I have tried different items with names sourced from the objectbundle directory...same results.
  13. While he may not be a reviewer...he is playing with a review code and is, in theory, a professional in the industry. However, it is very UNprofessional to make a post about the game crashing frequently, on a public forum, without acknowledging right up front that you are playing on an unsupported OS and on hardware that just squeaks by the minimum sys reqs.
  14. I think its a lock to outsell D:OS. Will it get to BG2 numbers? Maybe not, but it might. When the game comes out, if you like it, then shout it out. Amazon reviews, Metacritic, social media, etc. To the OP, that's what you can do to ensure its success in the market.

  16. I would definitely pledge for POE2. How much though? I went in for $250 on POE. I don't regret it, I was happy to put money towards a game I *really* wanted to see made and then play and to a studio (and their associated talent) that was responsible for a lot of games I loved. That said, I would almost certainly pledge less for the next game based on what I know now vs what I knew when I pledged for the first game. It just makes a lot more financial sense because of the things that are important to me personally. As in, a lot of the $250 KS POE content is just not stuff that I care about and considering the stuff I do care about, like the collectors book and the strat guide are available ala carte from places like Amazon.
  17. No that is a different book. The Kickstarter term/item for the Darkhorse Pillars of Eternity Guidebook Volume 1 is the 'Project Eternity Collector's Book'.
  18. If you can order from Amazon today and get the physical goods ahead of people that spent hundreds of dollars, over two years ago now, to support the game...that sucks. Bad. I am sure Obsidian is not ****ing people intentionally but hopefully they will do something to try and make this right.
  19. I thought DAI was a great game, I definitely got my money's worth. What I did not like though was how it was sold to me as 'By PC Gamers for PC Gamers'. It was a big budget console RPG that was ported to the PC.
  20. Very cool. Looking forward to getting mine.
  21. lol my first encounter with them...they wrecked me too. In another thread Sensuki mentioned that it was likely because DoTs are bugged right now and this affects their poison. I was able to get through them by pausing immediately on sighting them and unloading on them, resting as needed.
  22. As a KS backer, a documentary on the making of this game was not something I was interested in at all. But after watching that video, wow! I want to see the rest of it.
  23. I wiped a couple times on the initial fight outside the bridge. Once I got the mechanics down, that fight was smooth sailing. After that, I got killed on a beetle fight because I took them for granted, beetles right? How hard can they be? This was all on normal.
  24. Will there be a youtube of this when they wrap up? Not a huge fan of twitch.tv
