  1. What was the last conversation you had?
  2. Um, it's difficult to tell if you are in character (Angst) or seriously upset ... I will give you the benefit of the doubt and go with the former. I took the liberty of checking all the links in your sig -- assuming that you actaully wanted people to do that. And I thought the category was hilarious, is all. I was in no way demeaning your fiction, or your sims (even though I would rather poke me eyes out with a shard of a Bucks Fizz CD than actually play the Sims). Que sera sera.
  3. Hey, Commondore -- great link! I played K2 with my ATI Mobility Fire GL T2 128MB VRAM, but I had the same problem as outlined in the topic. The game works fine with the movies off (there is a movie played just after character creation). I have been able to play the movies in batch, as well, though after a couple there is the ubiquitous memory overflow error (yeah, must be difficult to manage the 1GB RAM with the 128MB VRAM " ). Great Avatar, too.
  4. It does smell like a cover-up. Why are they bothering to make an official statement if they don't have a guilty conscience? After all, they could have just said "Play the game and judsge for yourself, we love the ending."
  5. I've spoken with everyone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kreia? Mandalore? The dude in Mandalore's office back at the camp?
  6. Yes, which added to my confusion as you have removed the tofu-eating link! Your humour is in keping with your flamboyant dress sense.
  7. That worked. Okay, very funny. Would have been funnier without the hoop-jumping-pain-in-the-posterior-running-aboutness that prceeded it. Roger, there used to be a pub in Acton where (apparently) you could go and meet kindred spirits. If you need directions ...
  8. Why not? Your extraordinary deus ex machina ending is no worse than the actual mess that we watched. Seriously, though, I would expect that a major plot point like holding/reconstructing the Ebon Hawk by the Exile / crew would warrant a mention in the story. Might as well start the credits at the beginning of the game, flash up "A bunch of stuff happens", and then roll the end credits, starting with "... And they all lived happily ever after." I personally didn't think the Ebon Hawk was as damaged as you are making out, so it didn't surprise me that it flew off at the end. What did surprise me --- oh, nuts: you know the rant ...
  9. Go talk to the Mandas
  10. The only reason paranoia is regarded as a malady is because there is no way to express the feeling of justified fear when everyone is against you. Apealing in a "I want to wear a dress like that" way, or a "I'd like a date with Cath dressed like that" way? BTW the tea-drinking, soggy-bottomed, lice-infested, green-fingered, naval-gazing, joe-jamming link is sstill forbidding me.
  11. Does this answer your unquestion Metadigital? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Y'know, before I opened my big mouth I thought what you said rang a bell, and I thought: "Check before you type", "Check before you type", "Check before you type", "Check before you type" -- "Oh, Zarquod! I've posted. Oh well, let someone else check." Thankyou for highlighting my laziness.
  12. Just burn the church down -- they're sure to blame some muslim extremists.
  13. So Dr Who isn't being broadcast in the Us at all, then? Just a narrowcast to grab ... Only wondering because I'm interested in how the US will react to the new Russell T Davies series. If it gets a decent platform it should be huge: the writing is the ducks's nuts. Once the audience is in place, they're sure to do a game. Then we can just hope that it is good.
  14. I don't want to agree with Baley, but Lego SW is the ****... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are so right! I was trying to work out why I like it so much .... I think it's the irreverent fun, the way the lego characters are caricatures of the movie characters. Oh, and the fact that Obi-Wan keeps acting like a clumsy drip. Those graphics are cool. I think Lego Star Wars is better than KotOR: you can do all the force powers and use your lightsaber to attack and deflect blaster fire back at the shooter ... big jumps and spectacular acrobatic fight moves. Man, you can even attack the other players! Edit: forgot it was Phantom Menace and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, not Obi-Wan and Anakin. :">

  16. Nothing wrong with them, good stuff.
  17. Teenagers don't need more sleep, they need to sleep later in the morning. As for your particular sleep patterns, hey, whatever gets you through the day. My father was late seventies when he died six years ago, so your father has a few years to catch him up. Drugs have aprofound effect on the sleep cycle. Alcohol basically puts the brain in a coma-type state, so very little sleep stages 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 and REM take place -- you will wake up more tired than when you passed out the night before after a big night on the tiles. I try to break my caffeine intake regularly -- less than 2 cups of instant / tea a day is not an addiction, but anything over that is. Dang headaches are worse than a lot of other illnesses, I find. nothing beats regular exercise to regulate sleep and all physical systems; there is a definite somatopsychic effect of good health helping better thinking as well, I've found. Nicotine is a very powerful drug too. Wonder drug, almost. Especially good for concentration and memory and even raises aptitude a little. All temporary, all subject to the same diminishing returns and caveats of all drugs (e.g. caffeine). Obviously smoking it causes smoke damage to the lungs. (Lungs are the fastest way to absorb a drug after mainlining it due to the large surface area -- straight into the bloodstream.) I expect it will turn up in other forms (like the gum) for use on its own, soon. Robert Downey Jr interviewed last week (clean) said he got to the stage where he would have a triple espresso to go to bed. (I have got to the stage where I fell asleep after a cup of tea at night.)
  18. As a matter of interest, who voted for Dr Judith Mossman? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Demon King did <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I won't ask how you know that, but -- anyway -- that still leaves one very quiet person. (That rules out Baley. " ) I was really trying to understand what made Dr Mossman an appealing character. (Sure she had some depth ...)
  19. Don't worry too much; I only listen to Radio 4. No music, no advertisements, just pure high-bandwidth data.
  20. Is everybody plugged into a mainframe via a matrix of wireless terminals, living out virtual lives with augmented HUD info and telekinetic I/O ? By the way, what channel is Dr Who on where you are ...?
  21. Probably was Mr Kermode -- was it Radio 4? I will probably still see it, anyway. (I won't be knocking anyone out of the way to get to the cinema, though.)
  22. Yep, I'm off to play it now, I reckon. Oh, and I came across a strapline yesterday that said something about JC Denton turned off the Aquinas Router and it took some time to turn it back on -- meaning that JCD didn't blow it up at the end of Deus Ex. More as it happens...
  23. It's the pester power of the tweenies that have succumbed the the marketing juggernaught that is The Swartz. I notice that KotOR2 is significant by its absence.
  24. I have added my review comment to the Way Off-Topic thread: (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>).
  25. Did you kill her then?
