Not just Bao-Dur, but a submissive Bao-Dur and his Exile Mistress .... Seriously, though, great work Starfire.
-
That picture sounds in keeping with Bao's current image ( :D ) Does that make it double dutch? ( :D :D )

I knew you'd call me on that. I never buy the damned Mirror: I had to because someone I know is in it. So where did he disapear to, and more importantly, why? Is it a double-bluff from Man U?

Version 4.0 of Screen play is finished.

I heard about one of those pondscum guys that works Hollywood; pitches ideas for independents to the big studios. Sorry, can't think of hi name: it was a few years ago. (There was a news story about the process, featuring this guy. One of the stories they quoted was someone got paid $10000 for the idea for a movie where someone lives in the Statue of Liberty. Last time I heard Sandra Bullock was signed for the lead. I am not kidding.) If you mail it to yourself, send it with a signature-on-receipt. -
Ah, sweet irony.

I think it would be better to teach people to drive way before they get to drink.

Fantastic idea. But it will only happen if the new series is shown, and is popular, in the US. Are there even plans to show it there? I suppose I might watch the Star Wars series if I happen to own a TV in the future, but I won't go out of my way. I'm sure I know someone who'll buy the DVD box-set, probably the same person who had five seasons of Stargate and needed a cat-sitter two summers ago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Harvey mentioned he was watching it on some obscure cable channel, I believe.

Ahem... read this :D Courtesy of Launch <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Daily Mirror reports that John Obi Mikel was under guard and house arrest, he disapeared from the game in Norway into a car and hasn't been seen since. If he is already signed, why was he under guard?

Baley I think it is self-evident that long-term damage has already been done ...

At least Paramount have the good sense to pause for breath for a few years before either continuing or canning the whole franchise. LA seem to be trying to crank out a fluffy toy in every cereal box for every child in the developed world (probably made from the sweat of every child in the developing world). Interestingly, the last Star Trek Action game ("Elite Force II") was a direct plot facsimile of the previous one ("Voyager: Elite Force"), just with updated graphics and a Patrick Stewart voice-over. What we really need is a Dr Who RPG, with Daleks, Cybermen and Sontarans!
-
Yeah, I'd go along with that. I have never said the game was trash. I think the game is quite good (above average, in fact); it just overhypes itself due to the buggy implementation and WTF? rushed ending. It is just so frustrating that this game could have been epoch-starting, instead of a postscript.

Which KotOR character would you be?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/s/w_asia/74938.stm <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, that's usual. The allegations have been recanted, and the investigation is "on-going", seven years without an update. If it wasn't the mirror I'd be more concerned. (Gee, I think I just managed to almost libel myself twice in two posts!) -
Yes, page 138, "Mods of the month" box, bottom right, last comment: "... and Hollowan Plug-In 2 combines around 80 KOTOR mods, from newly-skinned armour to alternate endings." And they weren't lying, because on side 2 of the DVD: mods of the month: Hollawan Plug-In 2 No mention of Auraura, though (male or female ) <_<

metadigital replied to Roger the Sith's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You probably refer to Rama II and garden of rama...where's there some "disturbing" behaviour from the main character to ensure her children will have enough genetic diversity... still....great saga... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, I think that was the one. Something on a spaceship with three couples, if I recall correctly? Some rather nasty stuff has been alledged against ACC -- to do with his now native Sri Lanka and underage boys. Nothing proved, as far as I know ... -
If I didn't make myself clear, that is exactly what I wanted to say. What we need is clear indication (declared or not) of the personal interest in the reviewed product. Fat chancce, but at least we should be able to build up some expertise amongst us at sites like this one and use that to review the reviewers.

Deus ex Machina: the Will of The Force ...
metadigital replied to metadigital's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
While I was out running today I thought of a commonality between Eastern Mysticism and Classical Skepticism (and indeed scientific method): The practitioner is always trying to strip away the distractions of the illusory world we think of as real life, trying to get back to who we are through meditation, back and back and back until we are one with the universe. (Or at lesat that's how I understand it.) So to, when considering the events of life, a skeptic or a scientist must strip away the detail, deconstruc the minutiae and re-construct a trend or some sort of shorthand (equation) to summarise what is really going on. (Leaving aside for the moment that Eastern Mysticism is not interested in deconstruction and Western Philosophy is.) In order to do this, I must go back and strip away the distractions of life and endeavour to find -- perhaps not a single union with the universe, as in the East -- but a vector (direction and force of the flow of events). So in effect there is a lot of commonality with the two thought methodologies, just with Oriental thought one is subsumed in the result and with the Occident one is left watching the universe go by and checking its heading and speed. Am I making this clear? -
I still say that the enitre philosophical subtext is lost owing to the lack of top-down direction. All that we get is total philosobabble dressed up as erudite wisdom that doesn't even manage to keep referential integrity between one sentence and the next, of the same characters speech. We are left to pick and choose, because there has been no "direction" applied to the myriad of subtextual plotlets and ontological quodlibets. Whether this is due to the project being rushed, or just plain old negligence and bad management is unknown, unknowable and ultimately as irrelevant as it is disapointing. It's another case of dumbing down to the lowest common denominator (thirteen year olds).

Celebrating episode III: Kyla's fanart
metadigital replied to Kyla Carth's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh yes, if there's one thing I just cant get enough of, its art. Btw, Kyla have a look at this (nevermind the scanty clothing, Vampirella has looked like that since 1968) [snip: http://www.xn--holmstrm-t4a.net/pics/vampirella.jpg ] I just nabbed a b&w drawing from the internet and added some digital colouring. Could I try it with one of your drawings? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kaftan, I can see what she had for breakfast! Baley is going to need some glaucoma medication to treat his bulging eyes... -

And if you survive that extreme forum long enough to develop an unhealthy longing for its ludicrously high spam levels, you can move on to a harder substance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't go there, you'll drown in pre-pubescent swearing fanboys. -
looks like Chelsea have pulled off a stealth mission and captured the young John Obi Mikel from under Man Utd house arrest ... "
