  1. *** Warning, Danger Will Robinson, Fanboy moment approaching *** There is a scene where Data and Spock (as the Ambassador to the Romulan Empire) are talking and Data confronts Spock about how, all his Vulcan life, he was trying to be less human whilst Data was trying to be more human. * Normal service resumes *
  2. Because . But, you point is still valid, because at any time she could The answer provided by the game If this wasn't important, then Kreia could have done the whole endgame straight away.
  3. Oh. :"> But is it any good?
  4. That's interesting, in all this time I had never considered to Jedi to be a cult (in the meaning of the word you are using). Perhaps there are other FSs who view the Force in a third (or fourth, etc) way ... another cult. And the Jedi are no more the authority on Right and Wrong than this hypothetical third group. (Obviously the Sith are just evil and out for their own self-aggrandisement.) I still want Kreia to be the Great Propheet who first recognised that the Force is a malevolent diety that controls the beings of SW universe for its own selfish needs, whilst giving the beings the illusion of free will. Bring on the Anti-Force Force! Death to the tyrant Force!
  5. I like the NwN more than KotOR, mainly for the community mods. Somehow I think that the question was rhetorical, though ...
  6. You're missing a vital part (from a side quest): probably the crystal fixture, or the lens fixture. (It is not sufficient to have a crystal, lens and emitter.) There is some quest you have to finish first.
  7. Reminds me of a bad video I never saw. :D
  8. Cos the guys got enough dough to buy it, and it is the most profitable sports business in the UK (if not the world), being about the only one to make a profit, and it was pretty healthy, too (Launch pays for merchandise and tickets, fercrissakes, and she's on the other side of the world) -- Glazer already owns a couple of teams in the US. It's just him diversifying into a new market, but staying with the same business model.
  9. After finishing the business with the slug, you have to go back and see the security chief in Telos and tell him all's well. When you go back afterwards (after Dantooine confrontation) his conversation omits the reference to the station running out of fuel. (No real big deal.)
  10. Not a fan of the Russian mafia, then? Everyone I meet in London seems to be a blinking Arsenal fan. (Our builders were West Ham fans, but judging by their building I can see why. )
  11. Some marketing suit probably placed them both in the "successful blcokbuster movie tie-in" pile. Never mind that LotR:BfME is a RTS and KotOR2:TSL is a RPG.
  12. The amusing thing about this thread is that, despite the fact that it was created in direct opposition to the "Don't buy K3" thread, the contents have ended up identical: most posters explaining why K2 sucked and why they won't buy K3, with the balance saying they might and that K2 wasn't that bad. Well, I thought it was ironic. :D
  13. Not that I watched regularly -- hang on, I meant the snake guys, not the shapeshifters. :"> The snake guys had their entire galactic quandrant invasion force "disappeared" by the gods of those crinkly nosed Bajorans. Nice nod to the Bible for the captain to be Moses of the Bajorans (lead them to the promised land but not permitted to enter it personally).
  14. I thought that'd get a rise outa you ( ) Whatcha gunna do now, keep supporting 'em or switch allegiance to, say, Chelsea?
  15. Dude, Panther is obviously using English as a second language. Cut some slack. I understood the gist. I haven't been back to Nar Shaddar after G0-T0, so I will look into this (probably when I re-install the game once the mod team finish). I did go back to Telos, for example, and finish the fule quest (before the mandatory return to Telos after the Dantooine confrontation, I mean).
  16. Voyager had a lot of cool baddies -- and I didn't see the last two or three seasons. There was that perfect-genetic-sequence creature race from another dimension that the Borg were fighting, for one. I didn't mind the Dominion until the end, when they were defeated by an act of God. I did like the tailor dude. I didn't like the whiney girl with the crinkly nose. The captain was a dude, too. But the stories were just loooooooooong and boooooooooring. TNG had Q, too.
  17. I think that is dependant on the particular State, e.g. can't Californians drive at fourteen or something ridiculous?
  18. Bless! providing you haven't been convicted of a criminal offence, you'll be permitted to vote and drink in public. Apart from that, there ain't much more to it. (You can already have consenting carnal knowledge of another adult, and can be drafted into the armed forces. Yippee!) All other fruits of the rights of passage are conveyed via that old school of hard knocks.
  19. Bit of a soccer fan, Launch? Man Utd is the team that the rest of the world supports, very few supporters in England. What I found interesting was: Mr Glazer is now 18% short of the 75% of shares he needs for the offer to go unconditional - essentially for the ownership of the club to be secured. 'Aggressive' If he gets 75% plus one share, United could be delisted from the stock exchange and Mr Glazer could transfer his debt onto the club. So he will soon be able to take the publicly listed company off the stock market! It'll be his little toy. Thant's truly mad. Money makes the world go 'round...
  20. I'm getting the distinct impression you have some strong feelings that, um ... hang on -- you think Kreia hates people, is that right? You know, it is just possible that there is a slim chance that you may in fact be close to what might appear to an outsider as being in the general vicinity of a corrrect evaluation of something closely approximating what we might regard as a verisimilitude to a reality.
  21. Yeah, DS9 was too "social worker" for me; more like Andromeda (or Days of Our Lives) where everything seems happen in glacial timeframes. I did like the shapeshifter guy (Clayton? from Benson -- "Now I have humility, I have everything.") I did like Voyager, but not until Seven-of-Nine showed up. (Have to have a Data-or-Spock-alike in the crew). I especially didn't like that little blonde imbecile that was the love interest of (Pete from Benson) the galley cook character. I especially liked the homage to Dr Who: i.e. the holographic Doctor! (Played by the guy from LA Law, I think it was.) (I am a bigger Dr Who fan than anything else; though I still don't qualify as a fanboy. I did win a competition, though I was only 14 at the time.) The first couple of years of Next Gen were just not good writing. Oncew the characters had settled down the writing could use them in the stories better: I still think the end of Season 3/Start of Season 4, I think it wsa (the one with the Borg, but more specifically the two stories either side) were among the best tv science fiction I have seen. So, you porbably liked Andromeda, then? Or Farscape?
  22. I really liked the Zalbaar!
  23. Did you mean a STD? otherwise what is a sstd? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A Spacebourne STD ... :D
  24. The community texturepack does contain some John P textures though, right? At least Koif has some of the John P textures in the screenshots on his/her website. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, a little bit further down the same readme it says he had some earlier versions included in the community pack, which is why you install it first (from a clean install) and then his on top.
  25. Former. (You can always go to the Symantec site and get your computer checked online for free.)
