Because, and lets use Star Wars films to compare apples with apllles: ANH was groundbreaking and a true cultural phenomenon; ESB was a better film; RotJ had a terrible second half, subtitled "Muppets save the Universe", and the next two films were even worse. You can interpolate the trend. TCW seemed to be better than TPM, so extrapolating the trend further bodes well for RotS.

I thought relativistic morality as described by relativism philosophy is when two sides look at one and the same issue with different point of views. What is "good" for somebody could be "evil" for somebody else. Therefore morality would be only a matter of how you judge an action and not whether it is fundamental or not. In my opinion this philosophy leads to a personal redefinition of morality in which any point of view can be justified. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's cultural relativism of ethics / morality and assumes a (weak) pluralist view of morality (ie cultures have different moral codes, and they are not necessarily based on values that are not equally valid); also known as Moral Relativism. I was talking about relative morality.

But that is what some people understand love to be. They are devoid of empathy, and so only think of love as a one way interaction "How everybody loves me, let me count the ways!" They end up bereft of any companions that might have started off trying to be friends before they found out how skewed the person's personality was. And the sad thing is that these sociopaths have no concept of why they are unappealing; in fact it is generally news to them that they aren't loved by everyone! Kreia could very well have loved the Exile, she just thinks love is a one-way adoration of her tangled personality-free zone. Scary, but unfortunately true.

:cool: Well I think a disabled person will never get a job in that case, because it will always be more difficult for an employer to employ someone who doesn't fit the average: they will have to spend extra money on the workplace to make it friendlier. And I did say alll other things being equal. (Even good intentions and mandatory legislation backed up with potentially large fines haven't forced 90% of retailers in the UK to even give their premises wheelchair access.) Tsel, I think you are correct. The conservative government in Australia is cutting waste, not immitating Nazis. The only thing worse than mistreating a disabled person is an able-bodied person pretending to be disabled to escape contributing their share to society.

I think disabled people should be given preference for any work they want to perform. Positive discrimination. Not preference w.r.t. qualifications -- that would be unsustainable and ludicrous -- preference in that, all other things being equal and two candidates are identically qualified, the person with a disability should be given the job. Most people with diabilities don't want to be idle: on average they are more determined and hard working than the rest of us able bodied people. If they are restricted to a wheelchair then they aren't going to gain access to any nightclubs, so they would in fact be more productive than 85% of the workforce as they wouldn't take sickies for hangovers. I agree, that the chances of all of those cool ideas making it into the game are very slim, but that's how it "should" be! Sure gaming has become a major industry, but I just can't see why they would not want to improve their games!? How many people here were disapointed because of the shortness of KOTOR I + II, because of the lack of explorable areas, or all the other little things that kept those games from being the best ever? Sure that would take alot longer to program, and there is always the presure from the higher-ups to have it released today rather than tomorow, but it's well worth the extra effort. I don't know the sales numbers, and I could be wrong on this, but in my imediate surroundings everybody bought KOTOR because the expectations were high, that it would not only have a great story but also new ideas, by the time TSL came out they were still so disapointed that I was the only one to buy it. So IMO the benefit of longer development time is certainly larger, since it will not only be a better game but also improve the reputation of the developing team as well as the publisher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Three words: Half Life Two. Despite the ludicrous hype and crushing force of the expectations of millions of fanboys (and fangirls), Valve produced a game that has redefined the whole genre and set a high-water mark for other games to try to live up to and hopefully surpass. I don't agree that capitalism equals selfishness. I think that a good product will return a large amount, but a classic game will allow early retirement. Just because it is possible to burn customer goodwill for the sake of quick bucks doesn't mean the tactic is good in the long term; business acumen tells us that keeping customers is lot easier / more profitable than going out and getting more: that's the strategy.

That is a very pointless question. You might as well ask "Why climb a mountain if you can fly over it?" "Fastest Route" is a well known sport, same as, but almost completely opposite to "Most Experience". (The fastest playthrough for Half-Life is about 2 hours, for example. It involves jumping on those eye-beam mines to skip a whole section in Surface Tension, but all legal moves.) Five times through would be sufficient to do all the side quests: I did them all in less than three playthroughs. I'd think a more appropriate questrion is why you'd bother playing the game five times ... it was so poorly done I lost all interest after a couple of playthroughs (which I made to confrm my suspiciions that there were no consequences to any of the choices in dialogues and especially including -- and from -- the dantooine confrontation onwards.)
