  1. Does Giligan's Island count? (It has an 80's drum machine pop-remix of the theme tune on the site ...)
  2. If a tree falls in a forest, does anybody hear? You are wrestling over the difference to an external and an internal frame of reference. Someone with a strong internal frame of reference does not concern themselves overly with the noteriety, infamy, group appreciation or their reputation in general; they just do what they think is "best" (where the definition of best encompasses their own peculiar wants and needs
  3. Sounds like you've fallen asleep in front of Sesame Street again, Steve, and left the definition of "co-operation" on loud!
  4. Maybe it's due to Atton's infamous alien STD... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I was going to suggest some sort of cream; definitely talk to an apothocary about it, though ...
  5. Yep, I thought that too. Another possiblity is the whole tomb was full of dark Jedi, who were camouflaged by the Dark Side of the Force in the tomb, so that to the Exile they appeared as figments of memory ...
  6. The search function is your friend: (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>)
  7. Djarik. (And what, exactly, does Bastila tell you how to do ...?)
  8. I get it; Robin's minstrels: there was much rejoicing! (Normally drop the final vowel
  9. ... To bring it down, of course. Or rule it. Whichever comes first. Or both.
  10. I would re-iterate rjuang, and say that it is probably sufficient that you understand how Assembler works and its relationship to C/C++; that alone will help you to craft better and more efficient C/C++ code, without delving into the guts of the CPU. Of course, if you are concentrating on one platform, then any Assembler used for oft-called subroutines is a big bonus. (C/C++ tends to leave telltale blocks of code, with the headers etc.) It's always going to be a cost/benefit trade-off, and the cost to write Assembler is not counterbalanced by the speed of the game for players past a certain point ...
  11. I am happy with my knowledge that I am the only reality, and the rest of you are merely noise in my universe.
  12. Cassius Clay won the heavyweight title in his thirties, after being the youngest to win it. He won it three times, AND beat the monster that was George Foreman in his prime ("Rope-a-Dope"): Mr Foreman won a heavyweight belt a couple of years ago (in his fifties). Mr Ali (as he wanted to be called after his conversion to Islam) had lost several years of his professional career due to the US politics, yet he still was able to win. I have watched a lot of the fights, and I will tell you now that, although I do think Rocky was pretty damn good, Ali was the greatest. Edit: Ok <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  13. Yes. After all, who is best placed to make such judgements?
  14. Wow, that little guy is deadly! Did you see him kick and smash that wooden plank? I gots to get me an army of them ... We could submit tentative build instructions with the Fall move, just to be confirmed (like retreats), if you think that might be fairer / more interesting ( ). Also, are you going to publish a map with the new builds included?
  15. In the Adam Miller Dreamcatcher NwN community module series, you can actually have a same-sex relationship; further, you can also have a baby, which becomes a lynchpin for the follow-on Demon module.
  16. ... and which two are secretly related?
  17. Bigger stakes, like betting a party member for a shedload of credits, or the Ebon Hawk (to win it back). I never saw a key; how come the ship doesn't have a key?
  18. (You just saved him about a billion hours of surfing, and probably several life-altering and mind-scarring encounters ...) Jodo, the point is, youngling, if you don't understand what is being said, it is best to say so, rather than make an assinine assumption. In point of fact, you were not the butt of any joke, until you made yourself to be one.
  19. Yes, but your (albeit appallingly spelt and punctuated) posts are at least in the realm of discussion and even occassionally meritorious; same too with Ed'Oh (to a lesser extent, but I do beleive he is trying to be funny); Jodo, OTOH, is just posting meretricious dribble punctuated with " ".
  20. How troublesome of you to require plain English from me. S'pose it might've helped if I'd mentioned I'm writing the beast book, huh? :D Might as well be typing with my feet for all the progress I've made today. Hence, beastly and recalcitrant. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understodd what you meant. Good point. Why is it that most of these projects are done by college students? Aren't there any 30 year-olds out there who know how to script? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am tempted to say "because they have learnt the hard way that this sort of thankless task is a thankless task". I will, instead, proffer the explanation that older members of the community have generally undertaken large responsiblities, like families, which have these properties: 1. Overrule all other engagements, including paid work, 2. Take up as much time as there is (to a maximum of 168 hours a week). Hence, only those young enough to have not begun their families, or old enough to have had the lecherous young ones move off into their own families (who are probably too old to have gotten around to even knowing there is a thing called scripting for computer games).
  21. *Groan* True, Eddo generally thrashes out his hare-brained ideas in discussion threads before creating a poll (the exception being the last poll, which was some crazy ill-thought-through notion about gender-switching PCs, or something like that ...); so if you were to ask whether his topics were in poor taste, or just poorly, then you would be correct. As it stands, most of his polls have a reasonable mix of responses (apart from the abovementioned gender switcheroo). agreed, Eddo's already in trouble with the Mods, so if he doesn't stop these pointless topics, he might not be doing them anymore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do you know so much about swallows? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> grow up meta , i'm saying thatif he gets in anymore trouble he won't post these stupid topics <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Silly young boy! I was actually referring to your seemingly esoteric knowledge about poor Ed'Oh and his relationship with the moderators, using a well-known comic technique. Of course, the film was released several decades before you were born, so there is little chance that you have ever had people old enough to be familiar with it as participants in your conversations, so I probably shouldn't have used said technique with little chance of you understanding it. Then again, perhaps now you might seek out the source, and I will have done you a favour, as you encounter some of the best humour ever written.
  22. SiN Episodes are the first non-Valve game to use the Source engine and Steam as a distribution vector. I'm not so sure about the merits of the game, however, when I read such highlights as: ... SiN Episodes expands on the role of Colonel John R. Blade, a battle worn hero in charge of HardCorps, an elite strike force with a long history of conflict with SinTEK, a powerful multibillion dollar empire headed up by Elexis Sinclaire, a beautiful, brilliant, and ruthless scientist [ ] who is out to remake humanity according to her own twisted vision. Joining Blade on his mission are JC, a HardCorps hacker with a secret to keep [ ], and Jessica Cannon, a fiery rookie who can find her way into any secure facility [ ]. ... I wonder who their target market segment might be ...? Anyone heard of the predecessors: SiN and its expansion pack, Wages of SiN?
  23. Good stuff! Let us know whatcha think. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Darque thinks it doesn't work.
