  1. I thought she was pretty decent in the Underworld movies. Nothing to write home about, but decent. And if that's true, Meta, then I need to move to europe. Immediately. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> she was appalling: my cat can act better than her in those films. (You were just drooling over her tight clothes!) I'd tell you exactly where to go in Europe, but that sort of information is not for public domain ...
  2. In the first (double) episode (confusingly called Serenity, too), when the team lands in the outer city limits, there are a lot of chinese around. It does mirror Earth history, too: there are Chinatowns in EVERY major city in every major country around the world; probably after the great Chinese expansion of 1421. I don't object to Christianity, per se, I DO object to the assumption that it will be the only religion. More likely the jews aren't going anywhere and ditto for the Muslims, Hindu, Sikh, etc. And what about the Chinese philosophies: Confuscianism, Taoism, Buddhism, etc? It's the weakest part of the background. (Unless there was a "holy war" that Christianity won ...)

Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.
  4. Sounds brilliant.
  5. I still play Half-Life 2, all the time: it never gets uninstalled from my PC.
  6. Isn't there one in Jauffre's bookshelf? If not, try the booksellers.
  7. You assume too much and you're putting words in my mouth. I never once said the PS3 would be a bad console (really I didn't, I don't think I've even implied anything) I said two things really. "500 dollars my ass!" which was referring to the price people kept on telling me that the PS3 was going to cost and about how $1000 or $600 bucks isn't worth the convenience (of having to switch disks). Metadigtital it doesn't make you look too intelligent when you lie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your attempts at disingenuity might be more successful if you hadn't posted your opinion on this subject at great length, previously.
  8. Thief? If so, update it before venturing any further. The gae will rset the difficulty to normal every time you load a save game. Very annoying, if you play on other than normal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just bought Thief 1 & 2 (double pack), and I look forward to playing it soon ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *ahem* http://www.keepofmetalandgold.com/ It's incredible how long the game can keep one occupied. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Should I read that before I play the games? (It looks awfully spoilerish ...) I am not launching myself at a breakneck pace into the games, as I tried the demo for the third one and it didn't make me want to go out and buy it ... still, I expect this will grow on me; and I've heard that there is a really scary bit in one of them.
  9. Fortunately that won't ever be a problem.
  10. Very poetic for a psychopath!

Also, if he ate different types of fast food, then each of them could point their fingers at the others and say "It's all their fault!". This way, there is no excuse, McD's can't blame other food he has eaten, or other fast food stores. He had no choice, if he wanted to make a credible statement: McD's just happens to be the largest franchise, otherwise some other chain would have been a better example. It won't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Natural selection!
  12. Yes. You should, if you want to keep posting here.
  13. I know who she is, all right. I just couldn't tell with all the super-saturating bright lighting and airbrushing on that image. Two unsettling posts...so close together...the horror. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As an actress she is rubbish. (Her late father was gifted, though, and she has milked that sympathy train for all it's worth.) As a model she IS ugly. I see women that look better in the street, every day. Still, if it gets you to work, keep it up!
  14. Edward is the middle sibling ... so no surprises there ...
  15. "Two by two, hands blue" is over, which was a big part of her psychosis. Although she is still messed up, she is much more controlled now and the dillusions should be less frequent. She can still feel everything and everyone and she can still be a deadly weapon with the appropriate command. River is one of the more interesting characters imo. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Horsefeathers. We didn't even see the blue-handed ops in the film! Those dudes look like what they were training River to be, with (what I estimate to be) little psychometric boosters (the little pencil-shaped sonic screwdriver-thing)
  16. Spam relegated to the mulch. Keep it on topic, people (you have your own forum for spam). I believe the characters are just a tool for forumites to practice their observational and descriptive powers on, and possibly may be used in any PnP games ... rather than GMs having to make them up on the spot, or do lots of work creating interesting characters. So, for instance, here is one: Species: domestic cat [Felis catus] Name: Red Admiral, aka: Rocky, Teddy, Theodore Habits: likes to eat, sleep and wash. Not in that order. More similar to a dog than a cat, this little fella could very easily be the reincarnated soul of a little baby boy. Affectionate beyond the bounds of self-service, he has an obsessive compulsion to wash himself and test any old or new object in his mouth. Attacks: Three attack modes. retractable claws these can slice through cashmere and bleed an artery in a casual moment. Purr of sirens sometimes as loud as a power drill, this aural weapon can be deployed anytime, and for extended periods; it subdues all who fail to save versus dream into a deep sleep. Little pink tongue of overpowering cuteness this tongue, usually deployed in a self-washing posture, can easily be turned on any nearby companion; it is so soft and remarkably smooth (probably worn soft by the constant washing) that it surprises and mollifies those it touches, making them save versus cute or be stunned for several licks. Habits: known to eat just about anything, from deadly chocolate milk to any food and even inanimate objects, like a sewing needle and thread, he can sometimes gain too much weight, especially when he eats all Furry's food. Also likes to play tag / hide-and-seek, and is very good at it (even cheating by looking through the ajar door, or under the bed, to see where you are). Makes up for all bad habits by being a perfect teddy bear. (Like last night, when the temperature dropped below zero, he cuddled up and rested his chin on the bridge of my nose, whilst simultaneously deploying his two major weapons: the purr and the tongue of overwelming cuteness.)
  17. You should have handed that horse into lost property! ^_^ (lost chattel? )
  18. There were three towers in the last gate I closed, and the first two had
  19. You bring it on yourself, by making outlandish statements about how poor the PS3 will be, yet you slavishly bought an Xbox 360 the moment it was released, despite the obvious drawbacks: like no games to play at launch.
  20. Update: I tend to get a lot of blunt weapons, at the moment. I'm just about to do the redhoods' secret enclave in the hill. I turned the difficulty down during last night's session, and I must say it was refreshing not to have to struggle with the mouse and keyboard, whilst my screen dipped to single digit framerates. I still don't understand how my PC hits an enemy, so I just spam attack, as my block skill isn't strong enough to assist ...
  21. Puzzles have two states really. Either you know the answer or you dont. I'm not suggesting that you don't have puzzles. Rather I'm saying that there isnt any point going to extreme lengths because people will simply look up the answer. Then you get into replayability. In which case unless the puzzle changes in a dynamic manner it's no longer a puzzle since you know the answer from your previous playthrough. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bioware handled that pretty well in the second expansion of NwN: HotU. The end had a randomized bunch of motives, roles and solutions for the final characters. I agree, though, it should be something that the character has to discover, not the player ... even though I generally know all the riddles (I would hope so after this amount of time!).
  22. As long as the tutorial is engaging, I don't see a problem. The tutorial in K2 was not one I wanted to do more than once. The tutorial in Oblivion suffers from an extreme linearity: I couldn't actually kill the King, for example, even though I got a few good slashes in ... The point is that if the tutorial does its job correctly, then people will learn about D&D 3.5, so that new and experienced D&D players alike can make an informed decision about characters and races, etc. Yah! Unreal 3 engine on the PC!
  23. It can also use its horn as an extra attack ... ... or a paper spike.
  24. Thief? If so, update it before venturing any further. The gae will rset the difficulty to normal every time you load a save game. Very annoying, if you play on other than normal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just bought Thief 1 & 2 (double pack), and I look forward to playing it soon ...
