Yes, my heart would go out to Mr Stewart ... except that he is laughing all the way to the bank.

There are more calories in Apple Juice than in a standard beer.

ummm... this'll change christianity
Now, if we could only get access to all the Dead Sea scrolls, rather than just what the Catholic church wants to release ...

Greenpeace: McD's harming the Amazon
Diet coke makes the people who drink it put on fat (changes the metabolism, I think). Also, aspartame (the artificial sweetener) is a known carcinogen. Better all 'round to have a normal coke, with its thirteen teaspoons of sugar ...!

A Simpsons Movie?
Have they had fifteen-plus Christmases, or are they doing the MASH thing (which show went on longer than the Korean war)? After all, is Bart meant to be an eight-year-old forever?

Greenpeace: McD's harming the Amazon
It wasn't Bok that said it ... Hades placing an order? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also, this person is in serious need of help. And humour is a useful tool in extremis: it helps people deal with tragedy, and this person is certainly a tragic figure.

The only figures I have are for spanking new hardware, which will drain more than the older stuff: Pentium D 930 idle: 153W; load: 240W Athlon 64 X2 4200+ idle: 70W; 110W Western Digital Raptor X idle: 9W; load: 10W Seagate 40GB 7,200rpm idle: 7W; load: 8W GeForce 7800 512MB idle: 94W; load: 203W Radeon X1900XT idle: 95W; load: 210W Radeon X300 idle: 70W; load: 103W The good news is: a PSU is easy to replace, just a few screws (usually); equipment will only drain what it needs; so the extra initial outlay is the only negative to having a larger than required PSU; and a good quality PSU will prevent damage to components AND be cheaper to run as it is more efficient. I am also going to pick up a UPS, as they are cheap (

How do you fight? PS Has anyone managed to dual wield ? Is that just expertise in blade?

Depends on the brand of CPU ... a recent test found that over half of the ones on the market blew up when they were drawn at full voltage and amperage for more than a few minutes. The best one for an upgrade would probably be the Seasonic S12-500W, and because it has very good efficiency, it will save you money over your current one. You won't need to upgrade unless you buy a PCI-E card (or two!), which need extra juice.

I think they are missing a trick, though (the Christianity hierarchy): the concept of Judas doing a job that not even Christ was prepared to do is a very good one.

Oblivion First Impressions
I like playing in 3rd person (and top down, for strategic view): that's how I play NwN. It's not really feasible with Oblivion, even though there is a third person pespective, it's kinda impossible to play the combat from that view.

Tombraider: Legend
I won't make a final decision until I read next issue of PC Format, but that isn't due for a couple of weeks. There is a downloadable PC demo from Eidos website (500+ mb). Looks nice enough I guess and pretty fun to play too (the single demo level you get that is). Reminds me of a twenty first century Tombraider II. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If there is a demo for download, then it will probably be included with one of the mainstream PC mags, on the DVD. Rather than download half a GB, I'll just wait ...

Tombraider: Legend
The only bit I didn't like in the first one was the silly lava-creatire-thingies ... I really liked the HUGE Egyptian themed rooms; like the one full of water that looked like the Luxor statues:

Nother NWN2 Preview
That happened to a family of about half-a-dozen boys just near my (at the time) girlfriend's place ... ugly: a boy died iirc.

What new games are you looking forward to?
Half-Life 2 - Episode 1 (formerly known as Aftermath), hopefully there will be another episode before the end of the year, too ... Neverwinter Nights 2 Bioshock Spore Splinter Cell: Double Agent Tomb Raider: Legend (still a sucker for a good franchise) (not that much of a sucker: think I'll replay the first one again.) Oblivion Yah! Already own it and playing. Duke Nukem Forever Alan Wake Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday KotOR: TSL Gizka Restoration (kudos Grom) Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Final Fantasy XII (if it comes out for the PC) Dragon Age Fallout 3 Medieval 2:Total War Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Ancient Wars: Sparta Gothic III Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone Neverend Pathologic UberSoldier E&OE.

Tombraider: Legend
If I had known that it was exclusive until timorrow, I would have bought and played it, just to do so first. :D Reading the review (for the Xbox 360 version) I am glad I didn't.

Tombraider: Legend
But ... I liked that! That's okay: same as the earlier ones. Very short. Can you spell G I M M I C K ? Sounds like the ghost of Angel of Darkness. If they haven't bothered to port it properly from P2 to Xbox 360, then they probably won't bother to port it properly to the PC. Hmm ... no wonder they didn't release it for preview to the mags ... I think I'll pass on Lara, until it appears in the bargain bin.

Tombraider: Legend
Haw haw, it was released today in the UK! But I'm not going to buy it until I read a review, after the tragedy that was Angel of Darkness...
