Pics of your games: Reloaded
Does it happen after you've been playing for a while, like half-an-hour? That is a definite sign of overheating. Artefacts on the screen (those visual glitches) are symptomatic of a GPU trying to do more than it can. Be careful when you poke around inside the case: static charge will destroy the delicate parts (like RAM etc). I'll dig out a useful ten-step guide and PM you.

Oblivion First Impressions
So you are complaining because you can't use your time-honoured metagaming knowledge of "the more PC kills, the more XP, the more XP, the higher the level, the higher the level, the more uber spells and feats for PC"? How about competing against yourself? Sure you can beat the game with the rusty dagger you get in the tutorial, without levelling up. If that pops your corn, go for it! I think that makes Oblivion a unique game. You find it annoying. Oh, well, don't play it. You don't have to level up. Then again, if you do, the game adjusts and makes sure that your PC will not overpower the game, and re-balance. The point you are missing is that Oblivion isn't focused on the traditional RPG mechanic; the devs have gone out of their way to make a "sandbox": an RPG environment that the PC can interact with through the main story arc and beyond. Sure it's not perfect. Then again, I can't see your game idea, just constant whinging because you can't munchkin your PC ...

Half-Life 2
No-one is forcing you to download it (preloading from 1 May from Steam(w00t)), I can't wait to play the game, personally, as it is a pretty broad gaming experience. Alyx is okay to have around, I'm not bothered if she lives or dies: I guess that's why VALVe are bringing her back centre stage for Episode 1. She won't be in the focus of Episode 2, however, iirc. There will be more and different monsters (like the ones we only glimpsed in Half-Life 2). I thought it was a good selling point that you do not need Half-Life 2 to play the episodes.

Starcraft 2
I like Warcraft III; I couldn't stop playing it! Then I bought the expansion pack The Frozen Throne, and I couldn't be bothered to get through the prologue (had to play as wood elves, or some such nonsense): I tried twice and uninstalled it twice halfway-through the prologue.

Comics
Is V for Vendetta easy to buy, or do I have to trawl through collectors' lists to get the early ones? Spot on. Give it a try. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't see how even Superman can help a defeated non-market ideology and disgraced theory, derived from Marxism, of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs. So it fails to suspend my disbelief.

ummm... this'll change christianity
The thing is, Judas's (real) story is a hell of a lot better than the one in the Bible. (Hee hee, see what I did there?) The boring old "sold out for 30 coins of silver" doesn't do the story justice. Hmm ... story ... *goes off to notepad*

Inter-hall bacon cookout
Muslims don't drink alcohol, so they aren't going to be put out by the bacon thing. How many muslims are there on campus? Ask them if they want to join in, and what they'd like if they do.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
Just watched A Firstful of Dollars ... just shows that you don't need $30 million to make a great film. Sergio Leone is a force of nature as a director: Clint Eastwood was an established actor, but he hadn't made it to the premier league yet (just some Rawhide as the squeaky-clean Rowdy Yates) ... obviously the whole enterprise benefited from Clint Eastwood's superlative acting talents, but still there is no other "name" acting along side, yet they all do they job; and a good actor can still stand out, e.g.: Lee Van Cleef in the sequels. Even though the effects are obviously dated (apart from the stunt work), seeing porrly represented blood appear on the dead and dying in the scene after they are shot, doesn't impede the story at all. Also the score is phenomenal. Now I have the delicious agony of deciding whether I want to watch Il Buono, il brutto, il cattivo, which is perhaps the greatest Western of all ... hmmm maybe I'll buy Per qualche dollaro in pi

Is that any good? Or do you have to be a Depp-fanboi / on serious medication to enjoy it? (I know that's a tough one for you to answer ... ")

Been working on my Dyson Sphere campaign...
1. Do you need 60 (64) classes? If you are going to have that many I can't see why you would preclude psionics. You must be confident that they are all balanced with each other, of course; is that your concern? 2. What's Clark's Law? (Do you mean Arthur C. Clarke's Third Law which states that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguisable from magic?)

Oblivion First Impressions
Levelling up makes your PC stronger, and the environment harder. It also gives the PC better magic items, as they are on the more difficult monsters. In order to keep the game balanced, the game must get more difficult as the PC gets more powerful.

Yay! AO-rated games are coming
That's just the matrix onto which the real models (read: "ordinary people" renting webspace for their webcam video chat) are projected. E.g.: Walk into a bar, talk to a couple of people, go over to the booth with one of them, start live video chat. Easy.

Tombraider: Legend
I dunno, that looks more like a gopher, to me. " I played the first game, went "Uh, so my task is to hop through these ruins and shoot random animals? Whats the point of that?!" and Ive never touched the franchise since then <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it's a puzzle game. Most of the entertainment I derived from the game was understanding the intricate (jumping / man

My Oblivion Character Thread
I just spent a little bit of time with the difficulty splider down, and using hand-to-hand (something I haven't done at all). Lots of fun!
