  1. The PC's crystal has 40 to 48 variations. I will work on a list then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Since MacLeodCorp's status indicates unregistered, I don't know if he'll do it In any event, you'll find the stats for the personal crystal here: http://www.starwarsknights.com/itempages/crystals.php (the information has been extracted directly from the game files with a script) There are 5 "colors" for the personal crystal: black - total evil PC dark - ds pc grey - neutral light - ls pc white - ls mastery and each crystal has 9 levels. If I remember correctly, you can upgrade your crystal each time your pc gains 3 levels. For a complete list of items with stats and descriptions: http://www.starwarsknights.com/itemstsl.php
  2. Note: this thread has been made in order to replace the old mod topic after discussion with Battlewookie as the old topic has disappeared. CONTENTS: 1. Where can I find Kotor and TSL mods? - General modding sites - Other sites where you can find mods: 2. Installing mods: - General - Language issues 3. Learning to mod: a. I'm no programmer, how can I even hope to mod something? b. What about modding tools? 4. Some favorite mods (coming soon) 1. Where can I find Kotor and TSL mods? Here's a list of sites where you can find Kotor and TSL mods: a. General modding sites You will find a variety of mods on the following sites, including side quests, new items and weapons, force powers, reskins, new characters, difficulty mods, etc. Lucas Forums Kotor editing forums and more particularly the Taris Upper City Emporium Holowan Laboratories: the vast majority of kotor modders announce their mods over there - if there's a mod you'd like to have, you can also make a request. PCGamemods - Kotor 1 - various Kotor 1 mods. PCGamemods - TSL - tons of Kotor 2 TSL mods. LucasFiles - you'll find some mods here. This is the only officially endorsed LucasArts mod download site. Note that PCgamemods recently removed their comments sections, most modders announce their mods and await your comments at LucasForums, in the Upper Taris Emporium forum. Don't forget to leave your feedback! Modders appreciate feedback: there's nothing like it to encourage them. Even if there are things to improve, it's always good to see people demonstrating an interest. It also helps to make better mods in the future. b. Other sites where you can find mods: "specialized" sites and modders personal websites TSL restoration project site also known as the Team Gizka site: this site is dedicated to restoring Kotor 2 cut content. You will also find a few more downloads. You will also find a list of modders' personal websiteshere. Every Weekend, StarWarsKnights.com posts a list of new mods and tools to keep you informed of what is going on in the Kotor modding community. 2. Installing mods: a. General - You can find a tutorial on mod installation here - Afraid to replace your game original files? Don't worry, mods do not normally require you to replace any file (except maybe the dialog.tlk file - see language issues below). Generally, mods will simply ask you to put files in a folder called Override: these files will simply be given priority over the original game files and will not erase any of them. b. Language issues Most mods are in English only. If your game is in a language other than English, you will have to use DLG/UTI/UTC Language Converter 0.5 to convert the *.dlg, *uti and *utc files contained in the mods in order to be able to view the new dialogues and descriptions. This will not translate the mod but at leat you will be able to use it. Warning: replacing your original dialog.tlk file by a dialog.tlk contained in a mod will change the language of all the text in your game. Make sure to back up your original file before replacing it. However, mods distributing a custom dialog.tlk file are very rare. Other files are safe to install. 3. Learning to mod: a. I'm no programmer, how can I even hope to mod something? Contrary to some common belief, modding KotOR is accessible to everyone and no prior experience is required. Just start checking the tutorials at Holowan Labs to get started and don't hesitate to ask questions. Other modders will be happy to help you get started. Don't be afraid of those n00bish questions: everyone has to start somewhere Of course, if you have never modded anything before, don't start making an intergalactic quest. Start small, such as editing item propertiesto familiarize yourself with the files and the tools and once you are comfortable, move on to something else. Some areas of modding require more specific knowledge but with reasonable efforts and practice pretty much everything is easily accessible. b. What about modding tools? First of all, you'll need Fred Tetra's KotOR tool StarWarsKnights.com also has a huge tools library that is continually updated. As soon as a new utility is released, it is added to the library (with the full consent of the authors). You can also find more about modding tools, discuss troubleshooting or bring your suggestions at the T3-M4's Astromech Droid Center at LucasForums. You don't know what you need to make your mod? Check this thread to get started. 4. Some favorite mods (coming soon) suggestions welcomed
  3. However, the fix will not take effect unless you restart the academy module. If you don't have a recent savegame, you can download KSE (or KSEa if you don't have the english version of Windows ) from here: http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php Save your game in a new slot and use KSE to set the global variable 262TEL_Atton_Talk to 1 It's very easy and it takes just a few seconds to do . Here's a sample screenie of what it looks like: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Darth333/glob.jpg
  4. PCgamemods is being upgraded to a new version with more options. It should be back in a day or two. The other site belongs to the same owner and is only temporary.
  5. You have all the levels with complete descriptions (extracted directly form the game) on this page: http://starwarsknights.com/itempages/crystals.php Kreia will change your crystal when your alignment changes and when you gain at least 3 levels if I remember correctly I don't have the game with me to verify.
  6. Unfortunately not all models have animations and we don't see the lightsaber when a model doesn't have lighsaber animations. The character just stands in place and still inflict damage but you don't seee any movement. That's not a problem with tk102's editor: it's really a model problem (per example, B4-D4 was never intended to wield a lightsaber so no corresponding animations have been made.)
  7. Single. It's Jolee with a custom joke force power that turns everyone into Gizka  (I was just testing some weird stuff)
  8. Thing is in Kotor 1 you could kill all your party members except Canderous, Hk, and T3. I killed Bastila almost half of the time when I went LS and still she would appear in K2. If the devs would have given them more important parts, they would have needed to invest more ressources into having backup characters...which means even less time and $ to finish the game... ouch!
  9. Err...if you look at the list of included mods, you have stoffe -mkb-'s "Handmaiden party member option for female Exiles" mod included in the plug-in...so I guess that explains it Edit: you'll find a description of the mod here: http://www.pcgamemods.com/11958/ And the original discussion thread here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=144956
  10. You could change the quest global variable with KSE (http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php ) . I would tell you exactly which one but I don't have the game with me right now to check it. I could verify this evening.
  11. Seriously, thats cheap. We have tools that are quite user friendly now.
  12. Kotor modding may look a bit intimidating at the beginning but it is accessible to anyone willing to learn No need to be a computer geek! Most the the modders at Holowan labs never modded a game before starting to mod Kotor. It's true that the first steps that can be harder but if you start with a small project , you can familiarize yourself with the tools and the game files and things will get in place. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to look like a n00b, we all have to start somewhere and modders at Holowan labs will he happy to give you a hand and answer any questions you may have BTW, here a little thread I made listing the tools you need according to what you want to do: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=143421
  13. The patch will only work if you reload a save game fro beofre entering the academy. If you are already inside and don't have a save game from before entering the academy, you can download KSE from here: http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php and set the global variable "262TEL_Atton_Talk" to 1 here a sample screenie of how it works in general: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Darth333/glob.jpg once you've modified it, click on apply and then commit changes. BTW, this bug happens only if you chose the dialogue option "All right we mean no harm" when talking to handmaiden. The dialogue file is suddenly cut after this reply.
  14. KSE allows you to do about the same thing as with cheats: edit your stats, powers, inventory, xp, etc. There are also additional options such as modifying influence, edit globals (mostly for modders but useful if you encounter one of those nasty bugs), change your appearance and that of your party members, etc. If you download the file, there's a complete readme in the .zip file. (I could add the readmes separately on the site as well if people think it could be useful). KMM is a utility that will allow you to detect confliting mods and enable disable some mods (there's a readme in the .zip file as well)
  15. Since most of the questions have already been answered, I'll just add a few little things: To add to what DarthMacLeod said, simply removing a mod from your override folder may not be sufficient to get rid of some mod effects: some data gets stored in your savegame and sometimes you have to load a savegame from before installing the mod or from before entering an area for the first time depending on the type of mod. Always make a save before installing a mod unless you are 100% sure of what you're doing. Keep Saves from before entering a new area instead of after entering. Don't use subfolders in your override folder: it makes detecting mod conflicts much harder. Check this thread at LucasForums: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=143422
  16. Ya it raises as much questions as it gives answers. To me, it looks more like someone who is not authorize to say anything about the game (which normally is a good sign)...if you look just below in the interview, he quickly denies that they are not working on a JK sequel, which he does not for kotor. oh and Hircine, thanks for copying word for word the newsbit I posted at http://www.starwarsknights.com..
  17. there are lots of news concerning lucasarts since a few days (just search google). I posted some news at www.starwarsknights.com (Check for the news of the 07/11/05 and of today). You'll also find the links to the original sources. There's a short mention of Kotor 3 but it raises as much questions as it gives answers ...but if you read the original article and look how quickly they say they don't have immediate plans for Jedi Knight...well everything is possible...
  18. This is due to your browser settings. just go to the file menu and chose "save as".
  19. This happens when you train the Handmaiden as a Jedi after you found all the Jedi Masters. Do it before or don't do it at all and you should be fine
  20. you really need to go play outside... <_<
  21. Read the readme that comes with the mod: if the author placed the items in the game, it is normally mentionned. And the savegame Editor (KSE) can be found here: http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php it lets you modify your inventory, stats, appearance, powers, skills, etc.
  22. I'm not a modeler...I could give it a shot but who knows what you would end up with " To avoid breaking people's monitors with my poor talent with graphics, I only worked on the invisible part of the mod: scripting .
  23. Onderon is the only track that pays decent money. In fact, I hate swoop racing (racing has never been my thing) and don't want to loose time on it but want to see what happens when I win and get the credits...so I made an easy swoop mod. You can get it a pcgamemods or on my website (click the 1st link in my sig). Success guaranteed.
  24. You can easily check all the dialogues you want with Kotor tool and tk102's dlg editor . You'll find the tools here: www.starwarsknights.com/tools (Kotor tool also has a dialogue editor: you can use it to view dialogues but do not try to edit Kotor 2 dialogues with it or you'll loose important information when you save as it is not yet fully compatible with kotor 2)
