  1. Hi Everyobdy out there! Hi Obsidian! German ratings from major and most important game testing magazines are online. I did hope for a rating for at least 85% but this... I can't believe it. It is so great!!! PC Games: 91%! http://www.pcgames.de/Pillars-of-Eternity-PC-256319/Tests/Test-mit-Video-D-und-D-RPG-ohne-D-und-D-1154548/ (German) Gamestar: 92%! http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/pillars-of-eternity/wertung/48834.html (in German) Gamestar wrote: 92%: This is the highest rating ever for any game for the last two years (after Crysis 3) Metacritic: (and comparison to other obsidian games): http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/pillars-of-eternity/news/presseschau_pillars_of_eternity,48834,3084355.html So this is absolutely amazing and I am missing words for this. The biggest THANK YOU TO OBSIDIAN! YOU GUYS MADE A D R E A M COME TRUE! Thank you so much!
  2. Ah, gut zu wissen. Ich hätte mir auch eine deutsche Version erhofft. Und auch farbig wäre prima gewesen. PS: Jemand von Euch aus NRW hier? Grüße aus Duisburg
  3. I just downloaded the complete handbook. (Better to say game manual). RightClicking on steam... show manual.... et voila! 80 pages.
  4. Hi Neo, woher kommst Du?
  5. 14 posts in more than two years. I ask myself how much contribution this is. Sorry to say it this way but you do not know what you are talking about. You are talking absolute bu**sh** and everyone in this forum should ignore you. This is only MHO.
  6. Fantasy Tetris? I just can't believe this. Its just some days to April Fools Day....
  7. IGN and Giantbomb are getting copies, not Leonardo DiCaprio. Too bad because if Leonardo Dicpario played it then it would get tons of publicity LLOOLL! great! Please Obsidian, send a free copy to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis and Sly Stallone. Action, action, action! LOL
  8. Hi BAdler, never mind! I just see it your way. If the ratings are high (85% or higher) the game will sell very well. This is very good for anyone: backers, Obsidian and all fans of BG-like cRPGs. And gooooood for a sequel or a Poe 2... )
  9. I suspect it's pre-orders? They just count 'em as sales, whenever they are, I guess. Now, I dunno what the scope of that is. It's probably something like "for the month of March," or "this week," etc. Or maybe it's the top seller in its genre? That's pretty awesome, either way, but depending on the criteria, it could make a pretty big difference in what that actually means in terms of sales numbers. Exactly! Some days ago, some thread ago I asked Obsidian (in this thread where everybody could ask any question) if we could get the total sales numbers like how many copies are sold and how many people exactly backed the game and which amount of total money the got during KS and paypal. But I do not know which topic it was anymore... maybe we will never get an answer to those questions...!?
  10. Greetings to Greece! No, but I guess we will receive an update on monday and the keys on tuesday. But just guessing.... )
  11. Do you think the BB will stay in steam when we have the final game? As it works to "lend" games via steam to your friends I am wondering if the BB will stay forever in one's steam account? Does anyone know this?
  12. IMHO no need for respeccing characters. Just make your choice - and that's it. Like in real life. )
  13. Do they have a story inside? Can you read them like all those books in so many crpgs?
  14. Cool, glad to know that we'll get our keys before release day. Can you tell us if backers will get keys appropriate to their pledge tiers? We are giving people Steam editions that we have matched to their tiers. On Monday I will make a post showing the different mappings. Also, everyone will be able to download their rewards from our backer portal, as well. Hey Badler, Monday is over its Tuesday now and I can not find your post showing the different mappings. And I am still not able to download my rewards from the backer portal. How long does it take until we see your new post that should be on Monday already? ) Sorry about that. I completely forgot to post it. I will post it when I get to work today because I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me. Did i miss this announcement or has this still not been done? BAdler! You are fooling us.... or maybe you are sick and can not go to work, therefore can not get the spreadsheet in front of you and therefore can not post the missing post and therefore.... )
  15. This is not the right game for PVP. I do not like this idea. If I want to play PVP I can do it in an ego shooter or Moba game...
  16. The funny thing is that i ordered many physical collectors editions of games which were shipped from the united states and arrived on release day or before here in Germany. Ask SoE how they do ship Everquest 2 or Vanguard that fast (hint they use UPS Express delivery which takes 1 to 2 days from the us to germany). Yes that is more expensive, but i would pay that extra money after i already paid 290 $ for the Box already too. I think 20$ is a lot of money for shipping to Germany. I am sure this would even be enough for airmail. (UPS Express).

  18. Regarding a new KS for an PoE sequel (it has to be PoE2), as Fergus said once he maybe would finance a add on (the size of "The Swordcoast") by himself. So first I will have to see how good PoE will be while playing it the first time. If it's good (and from todays point of view I have no doubt) I would back it again. My pledge was 140$ for the CE boxed version plus playing cards and sound track on CD (I guess 30$ for both) plus 20 $ for shipping. Which is a lot of money just for shipping (but ok, I think we had this discussion already enough ) ). So this time it was 190 $ which is a lot of money. Plus I ordered the both books via Amazon, I guess rd. about 50 $ for both. Next time I would pledge the same amount like 200 $ maximum. Brian Fargo will do The Bards Tale IV with his InXile and Bards Tale is a very special game for me so, if this KS happens and I am convinced I will pledge a larger amount (maybe 300 $) for The Bards Tale IV.
  19. Alpha Protocol was pure gold at its core. It's imho Obsidian's best game so far... Good to know. I was wishing to have and play Alpha Protocol all the time. Now its in my shelves for so long and I never played it (yet).
  20. Right, it was a lot of fun waiting and reading all 90+ updates and news. But to be honest, this could also happen while just have to pledge 5$ to be in. )
  21. The goods would have to be shipped today (or earlier) for a lot of people around the world for them to receive the boxed goods by the 26th. It's why I voted for option 2 because I know I wouldn't be receiving the box by the 26th. And also to receive the box with no dvd after the game is released and then the dvd even longer is not something I was looking forward too. If I'm going to have to wait, I'd much rather wait for the complete item with dvd and sealed for my collectors edition. Not a sealed collectors edition with no dvd and for the dvd to turn up later. But then I suppose there's a lot of naivety from people who voted in the poll. On tops, i think it's quite unfair to let people of various pledge levels vote on the same thing. It's not a huge deal to get a regular physical game pack without DVD if you can get a digital code at release. But a $500 signed collector's edition is a completely different league. People really buy that because they want to COLLECT it. Part of collecting is having an unbroken, unsealed box. A box that won't contain a game DVD now. That way Obsidian really gave a big **** you to their biggest fans, to those who really paid a lot during the kickstarter. Sure, we're just a few, who cares about us. It's a majority poll so let's listen to all those $60 DVD box customers (or just anyone on the forum no matter which box they've pledged for or whether they've pledged for anthing at all...) how they decide how much the collector's edition will be worth in the end... And now we don't even get the boxes on time. That's so ****ed up, I'm really kind of speechless. Huge disappointment for me and probably for most other high tier backers, additionally here in Europe... There was always going to be a shipping lag for Europe. The decision to ship the goods sans disc was made to make sure that the lag wasn't extended by a few additional weeks. The realities of shipping into Europe are that things take quite a bit longer to get where they are going and the packages have to go through more taxes and red tape. Hopefully, having Paradox ship from inside of Europe will reduce some of this time/cost, but there wasn't a lot we could do to get it to folks faster. If we have lost your trust in this matter, I apologize, but we are doing everything we can to get European backers their items as fast as possible. Unfortunately, we are kind of at the mercy of shipping speeds at this point. So far understandable, but as I payed 20 $ for shipping a small game box (1kg weight?) this is a lot of money, even for shipping it to Germany. In this case I had expected shipping via airmail. Airmail can only take a week including customs. I can't help but feel dissapointed.
  22. I always like being in Munich: such a big city and the inhabitants know how to enjoy their lifes. Just to mention Biergärten und Leberkäs-Semmel. ) But never the less maybe a little to far from NRW.
