  1. Thanks for the reply. I think I'll go for the windowless one, since I don't really need to see in the case.
  2. And BioWare used Marilyn Manson in their Dragon Age: Origins trailer. What this proves is that not all the music is guaranteed to appear in the final game.
  3. Unless you're a pimp and are wearing a salmon suit with a matching sidearm, we'll call it pink.
  4. No trash mobs, but still a lot more AI enemies per battle? How does work out balance wise, if they're all supposed to be at least challenging? If they're spread out in smaller battles it's a wash anyway.
  5. Mist is quite prevalent in certain silent games. Snowstorms would be fun to see as well, although I realize this isn't Skyrim. Being from Finland, I'm also familiar with the oh-so-many types of rain.
  6. Some reference points: Baldur's Gate. Required approx. 90 man-years of development time for simultaneously creating the game content and the Infinity Engine. The game was released in December 1998. Planescape: Torment. Development began in 1997. The game was released in December 1999. Baldur's Gate II. Development began in January 1999. The game was released in September 2000. Icewind Dale II. Development began in July 2001. The game was released in August 2002. Obviously any comparisons are hard to make given the technological advancements since those days, and the different financing models used.
  7. Seriously? I hope you're using Linux or OSX then, because Windows is full of holes.
  8. Another question: AI characters usually have at least some artificial advantage over the player, so if this would only make things even for the AI, what would you suggest as the AI's advantage to prevent players from steamrolling enemies with superior tactics and removing the challenge from the game? Enemies that level with you? I hope not.
  9. Maybe it's just me, but I'd be careful when composing tracks that require a vocalist or a choir, because they have the potential to draw too much attention when you're trying to create something immersive.
  10. That would depend a lot on how large the maps are going to be. In the original Baldur's Gate the maps were bloody huge (for its time anyway), and the movement speed was, well, let's say inadequate. So too slow movement speed is bad, I agree. However, I think it was fine in BG2 considering its average area size, given the availability of Haste, Boots of Speed, potions and other movement speed boosting items. Addendum: if there were to be no movement speed boosting skills or items, then it might become an issue. AFAIK, we don't have the definitive answer to this question yet.
  11. The SilverStone FT02 has an interesting design choice going for it with the reversed mobo mounting, but it's definitely beyond my budget. I gave some thought to the NXZT H2 and Corsair Carbide 330R, but given everything the Fractal R4 has going for it, including its price (which is less here than the NXZT H2 and on par with the Corsair Carbide 330R), I think I'm leaning towards buying the R4. Regarding the Fractal R4, which configuration do you guys have, windowless or with a window? Any idea if either one is better for airflow?
  12. Lol, ofc you're right about the ports. That's what I get for drinking eight cups of coffee in a day. The details! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out.
  13. If something similar to Boots of Speed is included, I'd keep the walking speed outside combat fairly standard, something along the lines of BG2. Otherwise you'll just devalue the movement speed boosting items. I'm sure movement speed increase will pop up as one of the earliest mods though. Edit: Typo
  14. While I am not detracting from the reputation it has gathered (it's on my list), nor am I doubting P:E's ability to sell, Legend of Grimrock was less than $3.00 USD steam sale for like a week. I'm sure that was a contributing factor. I picked up Alpha Protocol at a similar price. LoG is a great game, but I have to agree, it's been on sale sooo many times. On many different services as well, GOG included.
  15. Reaper of Souls. Beats the crap out of vanilla Diablo 3.
  16. Yeah, I know! I never let my main character be a Rogue before because they always seemed too wimpy. But now, I just might. I also like the differentiation from a simple thief. I mean, the term rogue covers a pretty large segment of characters, so why limit yourself to a worn archetype, right?
  17. Ok, so I'm looking for a new mid-tower case, sub 200$ / 150€ (Finland, ordering from abroad is fine though). I'm currently using a Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus, but the thing is a freaking dust magnet even sitting on the desk. There are just too many exposed filter surfaces, and I'm not entirely convinced I need this much airflow anyway. What I'm Looking For: Not a dust magnet(!) Looks decent (AKA not too garish, although my current case isn't the most subtle one either) Made from steel/aluminum (weight is not an issue, I don't need to move this to any LAN parties) Enough airflow for a setup similar to mine Cable management Min. 2x front USB 3.0 ports Pref. 4x back USB 3.0 ports, a split with 2.0 is fine here though My current hardware fits in the case (duh) Changing the fans is fine, but if I can recycle the 200mm ones it would be great What's Inside™: GPU: Asus Radeon HD 6950 2GB DirectCU II (Unlocked Shaders) @ 860/5200 MHz CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core @ 4.2 GHz CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V LE, Intel Z68 Chipset, UEFI RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB Low Profile 1600 MHz DDR3 @ 9-9-9-24 CR T1 SSD: Samsung 840 Series 500GB, TLC NAND, SATA 6GB/s HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB, 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache, SATA 6GB/s Sound Card: Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, 7.1 DVD-RW: Asus DRW-24B3ST, SATA PSU: Seasonic X-Series X-660, 80 PLUS Gold Certified Front Fan: Cooler Master MegaFlow 200mm Top Fan: Cooler Master MegaFlow 200mm @ 500 RPM (Zalman Fan Mate 2) Back Fan: Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-13 120mm Thanks for your input!
  18. You think it over, I'm going to go ahead and start prepping the barbecue. Empty the store of pink beers and whatnot. The Paladins of the Obsidian Order promised to help out... I hear they really hate pink-anything.
  19. Plus the giant-statue-guy will probably smack you right back to the beginning anyway. That said, I supported this stretch goal originally and will continue to do so. What should it encompass then? I'm willing to let Obsidian determine that. It's their game, so they should know what kind of enhancements suit it best. Should Obsidian go into more detail about the enhancements, in my opinion? Yes, provided that the enhancements are something you can point a finger at and say, "there, look!". I don't think they should spend an inordinate amount of time documenting each minor improvement for a public update though.
  20. Yep, I'm still waiting for those 60Hz (or 120Hz... what, a man can dream!) 4K monitors as well. Only after those become available will I start to consider the higher end cards. Until then OCed mid-to-mid-high-end cards, possibly with unlockable extra shaders, will work fine with my 1920x1200 resolution Dell U2412M.
  21. So close down your stores, because we're hungry for marshmallows!
  22. I demand Code Wheels! Also cars with Code Wheel Drive. ... Alright, I'll take the Cat Druid concept as compensation, but only if there's one voiced by Halle Berry! If you fail to meet my demands within 24 hours, I will send you 10.000 copies of Snakes on a Plane. In high definition.
