  1. Don't worry. She's a human. They added a "helmet" that gives your character elf ears (using the characters skin tone for colour). Can be used by all 5 races (looks a bit funny on the Charr) My "dark elf" is just a bit of creative use of the colour palettes and dyes as well as the pointy ear head gear.
  2. Playing around a bit with character ideas in Guild Wars 2... the new expansion gave the players "player housing". Never mind that you can decorate it, but it's permanent daylight, so nice when taking character screenshots (rather than having to hunt locations depending on the time of the ingame day) A claymore wielding "highlander". Insert Queen's Princes of the Universe sound track A dark elf assassin, wielding two daggers and two pointy ears... A hammer wielding berserker. No skull is too thick. I'll try to take a few shots from the new expansion maps during the week. They really are gorgeous. Soundtrack is nice too
  3. Behold, The Hand of Gorth! Never mind my hand, I was shopping and needed some coconut milk. Then i saw the "organic" part and all the brainwashing from the past suddenly overwhelmed me. Organic milk, from free range cows... bacon from free range pigs... eggs from free range chickens and now this... somehow I just continued the line of text on the tin can inside my head - Milk from free range coconuts Yeah, the power of marketing
  4. Declare those who didn't vote for you heretics and prosecute them?
  5. I think I threatened at some point to show a few pictures of some very old Citadel miniatures from my collection... Dark Elves from back when Games Workshop called them Dark Elves in Warhammer Fantasy. A unit of Corsairs and a Sorceress. The corsairs never got their banner painted The sorceress was literally a cover girl. A plastic sprue in a plastic bag, taped with sticky tape to the front page of the White Dwarf magazine introducing the new race to the world of Warhammer (an ad for the new army book, first edition Dark Elves) Disclaimer, all the miniatures on the pictures are from the 80's and very early 90's, painted with the tools available at the time. No fancy "tech paints" A selection of Imperial Guard troopers (Astra Militarum? Who the **** is the Astra Militarum???). A few Valhallan mortar troopers, some Attilan rough riders, ratling (approved homo sapiens subspecies, exempt from purge) and some character models. Tach priest, Eversor Assassin, commissars and a lieutenant from the old Necromunda Imperial Guard regiment (a tank from same regiment hiding somewhere in the picture)... Edit: I think next up, it will be the undead shelfs turn to get dusted off. Also got some Necromunda gangers and Epic Ork armies
  6. The local grocery stores and super markets sell shrink packed rubber mats. Looks like rubber mats, feels like rubber mats, tastes like rubber mats (don't ask). Problem is, they sell those rubber mats pretending they are "naan bread" Decided to try my hand at making my own for my curry chicken... cut a few corners by buying a herb mix to add to flour, yeast and Greek yogurt. The first few were for the rubbish bin, badly burnt, but eventually I got the hang of it. Making them deliberately "small", because I'm a single house hold and the leftovers have to fit in a container in the fridge The gross looking stuff in the large pot is just the curry, having added tamarind puree and coconut milk, but not stirred it yet (watching the naan bread on the pan like a hawk, needs flipping every 30 seconds to avoid burning) The end result was decent enough thought
  7. Heck, John Lennon got murdered for less
  8. You are indeed a brave man... I lasted for all of 20 seconds before hitting the stop button Different people obviously have different tastes. Must be lots of other people out there who dig it Back to browsing cats in Springfield memes on the internet...
  9. Always take leaks with a crate of salt, but a well known leaker ("122") claims Frieren 2 is already in production... amongst other things
  10. Maybe abnormal number of limbs happens in Springfield? edit I know nothing of Springfield, only remember the name from watching a few episodes of The Simpsons
  11. You could argue Iran already struck preemptively against Ukrainian transport capacity... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine_International_Airlines_Flight_752
  12. This was bound to happen... after all, the internet was created to share cat pics!
  13. It's just a trailer, but colour (pun unintended) me intrigued... definitely something that's spiraling (pun intended) out of control
  14. Same... noticed both on yours and Eldars blog. Can't add comments
  15. I currently have status as a "permanent resident". As close to a citizen as you get without being able to vote. Once a citizen, you are required by law to vote and will get fined if you fail to vote As for perks, I guess not having to apply for a returning resident visa every 5 years if I wish to go overseas and also be able to go back? Also, I can travel freely to New Zealand and back again, as they have a kind of agreement involving free travel for each others citizens. For everything else like tax, superannuation, retirement, health coverage etc. I am no different than a citizen at the moment. It just sort of felt like "the right thing to do" though, considering I first arrived here in 2006 and have spent the majority of my time here since edit: I thought about it about 10 years ago, but at the time, Denmark did not allow dual citizenship. This changed 7-8 years ago, at which point I started seriously considering the possibility of becoming a citizen. Only catch then was I had spent 2 years in Europe and in order to qualify, I had to have spent the last 4 years in Australia. So i made a mark in the calendar for which year I could start the citizenship process.
  16. An ex-pat and an immigrant. Two useful passports / too when traveling. Can use the fast lane at either end when traveling between the two countries
  17. 30th of September dammit! edit: too focused on the fine print I guess, didn't pay enough attention to the oversized, bold faced headline in the letter
  18. Got my invitation to the citizenship ceremony. Unless something really bad happens, I'm likely to become an Australian citizen on the last day this month (Monday 31st of September). I better remember to treat myself to a glass of my special Cognac that day (which means I'll have dual citizenship, Danish/Australian)
  19. Just something for the aviation enthusiasts... from this years Riverfire in Brisbane
  20. Oh, you really don't want to know where I was last night then... Followed by a 20 minute long fireworks (and lots of beer) later at night
  21. Bought the game on GOG. Now I just need to find the time to also play the thing
  22. It's a long story really... You'll get the tl;dr; version First off, I'm out of your archetypal "working class" family. My paternal grandparents were a day labourer and a seamstress working in the textile industry and my maternal grandmother was a farmhand. The less is said about my maternal grandfather, the better Esbjerg at the time of my birth was a Socialdemokrat stronghold, only threatened by the libertarian party, because the industry was surrounded by farmland on the land side and independent fishing men on the sea side... But, that wasn't really what formed my world view, that was a number of experiences in my teen and pre-teen years. A friend on the street I lived in hung himself in his parent garage because he got bullied in school. Said school couldn't care less, trying to sweep it under the rug. Hear no evil, see no evil etc. I also mentioned at some point, growing up with my mothers half-brothers (only a few years older than me). They were left with an orphanage after their parents died and stayed there until the police raided the place and closed it. Systematic sexual abuse of the children, physical and psychological torture being the norm. At 14, I was convinced the world was inherently unfair and the 95% served only one purpose, being fodder for consumption by the 5% that wielded real power. Most people having little or no choices in life, many never getting a real chance to even get a foot in the door of life. At 15 I would have been a prime candidate for any orator able to channel anger against the world. I could have seen myself at that age being a member of Hitler Youth and Hamas. Anything destructive. Often wishing someone would finally getting their act together and finally push the button (the MAD button). I was also a bit disappointed when the cold war ended and it looked like the world was doomed to suffer the slow death of entropy and social media. Eventually I just resigned to let the world mind its own business and I went about minding my own business in return, not having any high thoughts about power structures and the way the world is run. For me, politicians serve themselves first, their party second and their constituency some distant third. You might have noticed one of my pet peeves is people in power being held accountable for their actions and resentment towards those who "game the system" to avoid paying for power abuse.
  23. Just the last handful pictures that I had on my phone... these are from the small island Fanoe, off the west coast of Jutland, a few Km from my old home town. The island is home to two tiny villages, which has supposedly lived in a mortal rivalry for centuries. At least up until the island got a regular ferry connection the to the mainland. The ferry trip to Nordby (the northern village, which is the one with the ferry connection) Looking at my old hometown from across the water... the power plant (the rather dominant white building with it's 250m tall chimney) is scheduled for being taken offline and demolished in a few years time. The previously shown windmill farms being able to provide the energy needed. It used to be a major fishing town with a lot of related industry, but now it's mostly servicing the offshore oil rigs and windmill parks in the North Sea The streets are narrow and the houses small. Doesn't deter the ubiquitous German tourists I wouldn't want to live here during floods though. No walls or dikes protects the people here... And lastly a bit of a time jump... back a few thousand years. The remnants of an Iron Age settlement. The green lines on the sign outlines where the houses were. Only the floor and larger stones making up the foundation remains today. Man... the sheer number of family picnics we had at this place. So many memories associated with it
  24. A song from episode 11 of Frieren - Beyond Journeys End. Plays when the villain is defeated and a large pile of previously animated "puppets" (mind controlled people, bound into servitude in life and beyond death) now needs a decent burial, last rites and farewells by their relatives etc. edit: from same Anime... the "action music", also composed by Even Call. Often plays during intense combat sequences. The sound track is generally good (imho)
