  1. Splitting my time a bit between Tombraider: Underworld and X3: Terran Conflict. After this weekend, there won't be any gaming for me for about a month though
  2. There still seems to be stuff to be said about Fallout 3 judging by the enthusiasm towards the end of the previous thread... plus with expansions looming threateningly in the horizon Start of old thread End of old thread Edit: No, I haven't played the game. Don't plan to either

That is more likely to be Walsinghams or Steves desk, them being brits and mods and all. Anyway, I am closing this since the magical (arbitrary) post number 500 has been reached and continue in a new thread. Continued here
  4. Meh, no Lords of Midnight review, only the sequel, Doomdarks Revenge. Give it to the animals.
  5. Not really "autocompletion", but I do appreciate the IntelliSense in Visual Studio. Isn't that more an autoformatting thing rather than an autocompletion? I do remember swearing out loudly when exporting 50000 rows to Excel just to discover that my large integers have been turned into scientific notation
  6. Moved to the tech section
  7. That sounds terribly politically correct Sorry, not much help there. It's the stuff I try to stay clear of at all cost. I suppose The Rocky Horror Picture show wouldn't be a good idea (even though the 25th anniversary edition is awesome)
  8. Not really a movie, just a few more episodes of Rome season 2. Then I listened to the Bladerunner soundtrack for a while and took a look at my old DVD. One of the very first movies I bought, the media is beginning to show it's age, scratches, cracks, stains what have you Maybe I should get that big box of all things (theatrical, directors cut and some even more extended/complete version) Bladerunner on blu-ray.
  9. That lucky bastard I used to be a Matrox fan until they gave up competing with Nvidia and ATI on the 3D high performance market. Still the darn best image quality I've seen on a computer screen though. I've had two Matrox cards, one Nividia and now one ATI card. I've been happy with all of them so far.
  10. "He doesn't need another game, he needs help" Edit: Disclaimer - I've never played any Sonic games.
  11. holy shemoligans. nice rig. what's up with the ATI gfx card, however? Uhh. whats up? My only problem with the card was that it sounded like 737 taking off when I put a bit of stress on it. In the current setup, I can't hear it at all. It *does* generate a lot of heat though. When I put my cpu under full load (all 4 cores), I can't feel much of a difference on the radiator. If I try to run The Witcher (giving the gfx card something to do), I can keep a cup of coffee warm on top of the radiator It does perform very nicely though and surprisingly few compatibility issues. The few things I've had with older games could be either that or Vista. so what do you think of this monitor? i have a syncmaster 21T at home (i think that's what it is) that i really like. for $1000 at newegg i hope it's worth it. of course, 72 out of 89 reviews give it a 5 out of 5. So far, it has been a good value for money thing. I have an aversion against widescreen for computer monitors, but there was just no getting a 4x3 in this size range Just like the gfx card, it does generate quite a lot of heat, but I get colour ranges that I didn't get on my 19" samsung. Particularly noticeable on a couple of websites that use pale/pastel like colours, where you can suddenly spot the texture and subtle gradients
  12. Just waiting for the US military to send in the B52's and start carpet bombing the suspected hiding places of Bin Laden with shoes...
  13. My computer eventually ended up being "complete" Antec Performance One P182 Antec TruePower Quatro 1000 PSU Asus P5E3 Premium WIFI - X48 chipset 2 * Corsair (2x2GB) PC-10600 (1333MHz) XMP DDR3 (8GB total) Intel QX9650 CORE 2 Extreme Quad Core (water cooled) Zalman Reserator 2 Fanless Water Cooling System Creative PCI EXPRESS X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series 1 * Samsung Spinpoint F1 1 TB 2 * Samsung 500GB 'HD502IJ' 2 * Seagate 640GB 'ST3400320AS' Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870X2 w. 2 Gb DDR5 ram (tore off the stock fan (and the warranty) and equipped it with a cooling block from EK Water Blocks, Slovenia) Samsung 30" SyncMaster 305T+ Running Vista Ultimate 64bit Various peripherals: Wacom tablet, Microsoft LiveCam, Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard, Microsoft 5 button mouse (very old), Saitek X52 Pro flight stick, various external HDD and USB sticks, old 5.1 Speaker/Amplifier set from Creative. The latter is probably the only part I intend to replace in the near future with some nice 7.1 surround set.
  14. Forget the loot. Just get that list of girlfriends that he has
  15. What you need is a limitless supply of maggots. They eat dead/necrotic flesh
  16. Just imagine the nightmare this is going to create for airline security. People have to check-in their shoes in the future and can now only board the plane bare footed. Breaking News: Plane hijacked, pilot threatened with a pair of shoes!
  17. No, my dad is stronger than *Your* dad! I was wondering if I should tease Volourn a bit... If there hadn't been any European colonialism, there would have been no Kanada and no Bioware. Beat that! Back on topic. All this territorial peeing, and that amongst us, here. Just imagine how much emotial conflict people who have been living in a decade+ of war must be feeling, either for or against something. A pair of thrown shoes? It sure beats car bombings and assassinations when it comes to showing your dislike of somebody Edit: Just imagine if somebody had thrown a pair of shoes at Lincoln, JFK or Martin Luther King instead of shooting them.
  18. Looking forward to and looking forward to... I think looking forward to more info about probably describes it better Jagged Alliance 3, Disciples III, Obsidians next 2 games (AP and Aliens). Other than that, I think I am covered with all the games I can handle at the moment. I still keep an eye on Mkreku's posts though, as he has a knack of digging up those interesting looking free roaming games.
  19. "Oh, that is why you look a bit flushed..." Nothing special. Has been travelling insterstate a lot the last couple of weeks. All work related.
  20. Old English has a very awesome sound to it, doesn't it? But try this. H
  21. Hey, I understood the Old English, but not a word of the Middle English. Old English sounds very "Scandinavian". Middle English sounded very "Gibberish"
  22. Well, that appears not to have happened. Buffy is iconic and needs no defence. Buffy would kick Kaftans butt anytime The series was never my cup of tea though. I sort of liked Angel, at least the first two seasons that I did get to see of it. I just don't watch that much tv anymore (I even got one of my entries wrong, Finding Nemo featuring movie characters, not television characters). Life is too short to watch tv
  23. Yes, sadly so. I am probably even guilty of it myself. You might as well have been a dead man walking in the room. I think it might be a mixture of several things, feeling guilty over your own relief that you are not in their boots, a stark reminder that nothing in this world is permanent, the knowledge that where "he" goes, you might walk some day, like trying to stay cheerful at a funeral. It makes you think twice before you open your mouth, because what would normally be a witty, fun remark can become a hurtful, even spiteful insult to people, given their changed circumstances (banter at work often involves work). Better to say less and avoid saying things that makes you facepalm yourself afterwards.
  24. "Censorship" Last movie seen would be "A Clockwork Orange" and after that, first four episodes of season 2 of "Rome".
  25. Blake from Blakes 7 Stanley Tweedle from Lexx Sydney from Relic Hunter Charles Winchester III from MASH4077 Kermit/Miss Piggy from The Muppet Show Pullo from Rome Dory from Finding Nemo J.R. Ewing from Dallas Probably a few more given a bit of time to jog through memory.
