  1. Thanks, I'll never look at Icewind Dale the same way again
  2. Yeah I know, don't judge a game by its screenshots, but it just looked "sterile" somehow. None of the charm of JA2. Does it even have destructable buildings? I fear we will never get a game like JA2 again
  3. Sorry Zoma, Funcroc beat you by about an hour
  4. Start of old thread End of old thread I've been "playing" a bit of Microsoft Flightsim X Deluxe lately. I can take off from the airport where I live, but I still have some trouble hitting the runway without disintegrating when getting back down again
  5. (in a panicked voice) "Game over man, game over!..." Continued here
  6. Next episode in the days of our lives
  7. These and many more questions may or may not be answered here Start of old thread End of old thread Just saw the news on the fires in Victoria. Scary and sad it is. The body count is currently at 35 and climbing
  8. Friends of mine measure 48 degrees in the town of Renmark the other day, it's a few hundred k's inland from here Here in Adelaide, it currently hovers a bit over, sometimes a bit below the 40 mark. Should get cooler from Sunday onwards though.

  10. I remember the wargamers discussing back then whether or not it was possible to convert Warhammer into a computer setting. They can be just as passionate as computer gamers when their favourite franchises are involved In the end, Dark Omen put the (harshest) critics to shame by being a real little gem. Much better than Chaos Gate (a Warhammer 40k tactical combat game ala xcom) anyway.
  11. Reminds me of a friend of mine. He was madly in love with a married woman and indulged in all kinds of melancholy until the day she divorced her husband and moved in together with my friend. It lasted a short while, then it fell apart. The promises of the dream being more than reality could deliver. Morale of the story? None really.
  12. Thread pruned with blunt scissors, including whole and partial posts. No, I am not qoing to send a bunch of PM's, I am sure people know where it went wrong. Let's stick with the SoZ bugs (rhetorical question)?
  13. Setting must be plain weird. Thus I vote for Lexx rpg. Imagine this with Chris Avellone and George Ziets doing the writing. It will be epic. One of the few settings that would give you party members as quirky as the PS:T ones
  14. Indeed
  15. Nope, not the only one I will not let trivial things like facts and other peoples experiences interfere with my irrational hatred and condemnation for that sorry excuse for a Fallout wannabe
  16. If you have a Geforce card, they don't play nice with older 2D games. Nah, ATI card. I might just try a new install without any of the fixpack etc. If that doesn't do it, it gets to run on my old computer (where it used to run fine for a number of years). In the meantime, I bought myself Europa Universalis: Rome (I didn't really like the demo, but it was dirt cheap at 20 Aussie dollars) and Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe plus Acceleration Expansion pack. Should keep me occupied a bit.
  17. Trying to stay cool. Temperatures have come down from 43 degrees to a more moderate 40 degrees (and 30 degrees at night), still a bit on the warm side of things though
  18. Is it just my imagination or does that (ex) governor look a bit like the guy in Gorgons avatar?
  19. Start of old thread End of old thread Listening to: Yazoo - Don't Go
  20. Getting a bit long this tune... Continued Here
  21. Tried to play a bit of BG2. Made it to the D'Arnise keep. Then the game becomes unplayable everytime I enter the second floor. After a few seconds, it just slows down to a crawl, going slower and slower until the application "stops working" and I can close the program Maybe it doesn't like my new PC, maybe it was one of the mods, no idea. I might just have to relegate it to my old PC. *Sniff*
  22. Go for it. If things turns out as expected, you can let your brother have your old car *Cough* Ok, maybe I am not the best one to give advice, as I am known for doing jaw droppingly reckless things all the time
  23. Gorth

    Who am I?

Zing! You are Calax the Black and White, slayer of Frogs and scourge of the children of Zoogul. Or, you are Calax the Forumite, all round nice guy with a tendency to write posts so long that the reader lies writhing on the floor, gasping for breath, trying to comprehend the massive influx of info
  24. I can see such a game for me... You are the son of a god, the chosen one. You have to gather party members and solve quests, provide healing, leadership using dimplomacy skills, slowly rising to a position of all powerful being. At the end of the journey, you have to chose, do you want to ascend to godhood and leave your partymembers and love affair behind or do you chose to stay mortal and roam the surface of Faerun the world until the end of your natural lifespan? >_
