Where did you think the inspiration for "Pet Cemetary" came from? Edit to add: I give up. I've really tried to find a nice young Gruy

Obsidian is working on project for leading animation franchise

I'm trying to imagine MCA's take on something like "Finding Nemo". We would probably see wannabe good shark turning into a fish killing machine, nemo being sacrificed in the front of his dad and turned into sushi while the ocean floor gets covered in a life extinguishing blanket of toxic pollution and Dory being processed by a taxidermist for a longer lasting experience for the dentists little monster kid -
Still playing FO:NV, still having loads of fun, even if still dying in spectacular ways every now and then. Besides the accidental deathclaw encounter, I got surprised by ambushes twice ( and ). Overcame the first after a few trials and whimped out on the latter, being woefully "underequipped" for the situation. I'll be back! Bought Mysteries of Westgate from Gamersgate, so I foresee a return to NWN2 in a not so distant future. I still have my NWN2 installed, but I start worrying about the online patching/update process. Are these files/install procedures available (legitimately) for offline installation?

Logic? What logic?

Surviving vault 34 (so far)... Took me forever wandering around and back tracking and back back tracking and so forth to realize that I was actually looking at two different pools of water with a dead ghoul technician in each Killed the overseer and found the reactor room. Found some kind of reference to survivors, but I had to turn around and leave. Almost out of Radaway and I glow enough in the dark to not need the Pipboy light Time to visit a doc and get rid of some of that radiation (and stock up on medical supplies). Noticed that I started losing strength too when radiated enough. I sure as hell hope that lower level Armoury is worth it.

Round up all filesharers and stick them in jail, then you can assume 0% loss Alternatively stop creating products that can be distributed digitally. Got better ideas?

That's a bit tricky to do due to the nature of the subject of investigation. You might convince some to come forward and share with you (pun unintended), but most probably wouldn't go further than letting friends and family know how much or how little they participate in such activities. It's a bit like trying to estimate how much the Russian mafia swindles out of the Russian state. You can make guesses and fill in the blanks (extrapolate), but it is in its very nature never going to be exact science. You can only do the second best thing and start working on models that you think will make good approximations.

Yeah, yeah. you are such a humanitarian. I'm surprised you haven't started arguing yet that we should lift the ban on drink driving. Such a nanny state principle. I've yet to hear a drink driver not assure the cops that he wasn't fully capable of judging whether or not he was able to drive, so why should the state take that decision away from him. What are a few deaths and destroyed families in the big picture when peoples freedoms are impaired?

*Yawn* Not really sure who you are trying to insult? The developers who loses money on piracy or customers who suffers DRM as a consequence of it?

Easy enough *Draws line in sand and points at it* Edit to add: Hey, where did you think Olympic Games and Marathon came from? Does the word Gymnast ring a bell?

That was a reaction to the myth that it only affects yourself. Very few people live in such complete isolation from the rest of their world, that their actions doesn't impact it. As for the sports injury strawman, I looked at a few numbers. In New Zealand the annual cost was $70 million in 2007 (Rugby being unsurprisingly the biggest culprit) and an example for Australia (2003) numbers lists $1.5 billion which is the gross figure, not adjusted for the cost to the tax payer and how much is covered by private health insurance for the specific purpose. Nor does it balance it against any cost saving by reduced expenses on cardiovascular conditions. In summary, "insignificant" in the big picture. How do you put a dollar value on the human cost? The "I am entitled to fun, the consequences and bill paying be damned" mentality smacks of lack of responsibility and accountability. C.f. Greece for the mentality applied on a nationwide scale.

Looks sweet, thanks. Turns out some other online friends are all playing, I might be able to get a friend invite from one of them faster than the company deciding to choose me. We'll see/I'll hope! What?! Ok, then I expect an invite from YOU in the near future for giving such excellent gaming suggestions! *ahem* I believe I created the thread. Spoiler: Having a lot of fun playing FO:NV, now that I finally got around to dedicate some time to it on a regular basis. Playing it without DLC's the first time through, will probably get the bundle once they all become available together. Caught myself laughing out loud at the little story in the Repconn building where an employee discovered a shipment of stealth boys from Robco, just to be dismissed shortly after for sexual harassment (sneaking around in the ladies room).

The problem with that position is, when does the impact stop at affecting your body and when does it affect other people. Not talking second hand smoke here, but less obvious things like put a strain on the healthcare system, lack of productivity, social isolation, insert a few more. How much should other people suffer for your indulgence and you would consider them "fascists" (waiting for Godwyns law to be invoked) for telling you to knock it off? After all, you only notice the immediate short term effect on your own body, not giving a damn about other people having to support you when it blows up in your face.

I still don't understand why people think AP was buggy. Some questionable design decisions, sure, but buggy (yes, I know some people had mouse problems)? Kotor2 on the other hand couldn't be saved by anything short of a remake Personally rather unexcited about patches for TW2, as I've yet to bother picking up the game again and finish the prologue I started. It's almost as boring as the Dragon Age 2 demo

More than you would think, especially the last 12 months. Piracy is no joking matter

If you bought it retail, you probably can't. If you bought it online from Atari, Steam or similar, you would have to contact customer support there.

If the fight is such a visceral, immersive experience, why wouldn't you want it to last as long as possible?

German inventor Werner Jacobi first patented an integrated circuit in 1949. It might have been plausible to expand on his 5 transistor circuit over the next decade to become usable in a Fallout setting. Early history Edit to add: Come to think of it, just remembering that the game is full of hackable computers. Must have some kind of logic circuitry in there.

Ireland is bankrupt anyway, isn't it? Might be for sale cheap. Turn it into a subsidiary and have joint elections for president of both

The sacrifices you have to make... Life's generally good and problems and stress are of my own making. I could have settled for less in life. Doesn't want to sound too cheerful around here, as it might upset peoples misery. Then there are those with genuine problems (my thoughts go out to Enoch and Tarna) and I realise what a lucky bastard I am and should be grateful for what I've been given in life.

Nice thought, wrong audience Any and all things Star Wars is the property of Lucas' companies and only they can commission new products, franchises whatever that uses the Star Wars intellectual property. It's not a question of not wanting to (I think the Obsidian big cheese said as much in an interview years ago), but that Lucas doesn't seem to be particularly interested in anything interfering with their upcoming MMO (The Old Republic).

Virtual monkeys write Shakespeare Somebody decided to take the Infinite Monkey Theorem to the test. Turns out that this cloud computing thing is good for something after all. Also, gives new meaning to the term "Code Monkey"
