I know 19th century houses in the US isnt' necessarily common, but I thought homes built from wooden materials was? Just curious, being Scandinavian I couldn't imagine living in something that wasn't made out of stone.

Mass Effect 3
I don't think that compartmentalization, works that way for video games. That kind of stuff is good for DLC because the other team has a finish product to go from but working alongside with no oversight of both team or with a large degree of separation is bound to give you noticeable different result. In short; MP is going to be wildly detached from SP. If it's still running on the Unreal 3 engine, wouldn't it already have some MP code thrown into the bargain so to speak? The work then being in the design, fleshing out the game mechanics etc. to take it into account. Wouldn't make much sense trying to add it as an afterthought, as it would likely feel like an artificial, bolted on thing (like minigames and QTE's).

Update from the War on Drugs
Markets change. Once upon a time it was booze and guns, now it's drugs and guns. If there hadn't been a market for cocaine, the Taliban wouldn't have been able equip themselves with more than sharpened sticks. If there hadn't been a market in the US (US/ Mexican border) and Europe (Spanish harbours) for drugs, the likes of Escobar and later Gallardo wouldn't have been as influential as they were. Gallardo especially left a bit of a legacy creating most of the current Mexican drug cartels (based on the same principle as the internet really, if one got busted he would still have the others). Of course, since they cut off the head, the cartels became completely autonomous and started fighting amongst themselves. You need to do two things to eliminate them though, you both to deprive them of their markets and their arms dealers. So far, Texan arms dealers alone seems to be able to provide them enough guns to wage a military style campaign against government forces. In theory, you could go after the distribution networks, but so many people are involved and so many palms greased that it is futile prospect. Take the buyers out of the equation and money for guns and corrupt officials dries out, or as in Nepenthe's example of self styled "revolutionaries", they can't buy PR and public opinion. Then, when no longer all powerful in the minds of people, you can realistically wage a campaign against them.

Tim Cain joins Obsidian Entertainment!
Somebody enlighten the heathens amongst us (i.e. me), but what was his role in the original Fallout game? Level design? Art direction? Dialogue/Writing? Setting/Background? Just curious.

Waiting for my masterplan to come together... Everybody from NCR to the Legion thinks I'm a great guy, working for their interests. Just waiting for the moment to come when House shall realize who the true ruler of New Vegas is. I shall format his hard drive and then turn on the NCR and the Legion like a storm vengeance. With the help of the Boomers and BoS the Mojave shall become a battlefield and the desert shall drown in blood so not even the dam will be able to stem the tide of bodily fluids leaking from their miserable corpses. That is, those I haven't fried with Archimedes II yet! One courier to rule them all Ok, maybe I should relax a bit when playing this game.

I believe you. Not saying "don't share the info" either. Only consider the whys and wherefores first, then act upon it

I wonder if that wouldn't ruin the point of hiding it

The Perfect Setting of Fallout 4
Add wetlands and swamps and you've got a deal Also, needs mutated piranhas... the size of tunas... wrestling with the 5 meter centipedes and humongous venus fly traps for position as alfa predator That is, whatever the giant antlions and the quicksand doesn't swallow first.

Hey, look who's back I'm still feeling challenged by Deathclaws. It's like they don't have any respect for my reinforced leather armour. Even my Laser RCW (sp?) doesn't seem to offer much in the way of stopping power when they get close Are they particularly susceptible to any sorts of ammo, like hollow point or are they considered "armoured" and I need AP ammo? I might bring along a light machine gun from my stash and have another go at them.

Taxes, surcharges and freedom.
I think I'm pretty consistent in arguing that kids don't reason effectively, due to a combination of factors, including susceptibility to peer pressure/advertising as much as raw mental immaturity. Just wanna point out... that the arbitrary definition of an adult as being 18 is rather rediculous. Especially if you ask the 17 year olds What would the alternative be though, sitting a written test to pass into adulthood? Measuring hormone levels in the bloodstream? Bring the severed head of a traditional enemy? Going on a pilgrimage? Somewhere, somebody has to make that "arbitrary" line

My New Laptop
Last pre-assembled computer I bought was my Amiga 40000 So I don't normally read all the retailer advertising. I'll take your word for thats the normal MO The quality of the refurbishing depends on who does the refurbishing. I couldn't find anything specific about warranty, so it might be worth checking what they offer for refurbished computers.

Barbarians! @Guard Dog: Different lines of work, yet parts of it sounds strikingly familiar. High risk interesting projects versus the less glamorous ones that ensures you can pay rent in any foreseeable future. I like the first ones better, my employer the latter High risk sounds awesome until it doesn't pay off. Thats part of the fun. If you screw up, you're royally screwed (been there, done that) and if you succeed, you feel so very much alive (been there, done that too)

Erm... has anyone noticed Turkey and Syria?
Putin beat you by 5 days... >_ Russia will probably end up deciding that Crimea is a national security issue and "encourage" Ukraine to join.

You know that's not always the case, I prefer a shapely A cup over an unnatural looking C cup. Stay tuned I will post pics. You've just never seen a good anatomically shaped implant. As a connoisseur I appreciate subtleness and aesthetically pleasing natural lines. Implants belong no more in human bodies than ice belongs in Whisky.

International Terminals can be interesting places to hang around in and observe people. Although, like so many other things, after the first 50 or so times it loses a bit of the novelty and you start using your accumulated experiences with such places to locate the quiet spots with a good view and try to achieve that semi-conscious state where one half of your brain is asleep and the other half is listening for your departure announcement Or not, as the case may be. (terminal's under construction, so I'm stuck people watching). And playing armour-geddon. In that case, fake boobs are better than no boobs I suppose

I tried a demo (I don't think it was steam though, just a standalone demo featuring the start of the Empire campaign only). Didn't like it. It just fails completely to capture the atmosphere of D2. That being said, I still bought it a while ago when Gamersgate had one of their 75%+ off sales on it and I got it for something like $5. You never know, I might get back to it and give it a second try some day Heck, I would probably buy Dragon Age 2 for $5

What are you playing now?
Still playing FO:NV. I think I've become addicted to this game. My charisma and intelligence plummets like a rock if I try to detach myself from the game Currently supporting BoS as they seems the faction that it is easiest not to dislike. I'm probably spending too much time exploring and too little actually finishing off quests though. I need to work a bit on my backlog now to prevents quests from suddenly popping up out of the blue as failed or solved without me even knowing that I got them in the first place.
