  1. Some of us still remember Skylab
  2. I'm ambivalent about that. I would like to see Obsidian get paid for their work on South Park, on the other hand I always resented them for clinging on to the Games Worshop rights, never (and likely not intending to) making a game that would interest me. Selfish? Sure
  3. But that's exactly what a lot of them did, asking for advice from the supposed experts in matters they themselves don't know anything about.
  4. Why is that?
  5. That would be Volourn, I just consider them pathetic losers with self entitlement issues.
  6. Emphasis by me. The difference between theft of tangible and intangible goods is really irrelevant from an ethical point of view. If you cheat people out of pay for their time and effort you cheat people out pay of their time and effort. Only difference is theft of tangible goods is easier to prosecute and people hate the thought of paying for something they can get away with not paying for, regardless of how absurd the justifications may sound.
  7. Cauliflower with cheese ?!? Sheesh guys, I mean I love cauliflower and I love cheese, but I would not imagine it going very well together. What's next, Cauliflower with vegemite?
  8. Cheer up indeed
  9. So, you'll end up looking like Roger Waters... such a fanboi Shame about the price, but good work on getting the tickets. Opportunities are there to be grabbed
  10. Yeah, Putin is such a fraud. They should give the presidency to the second largest party instead. LoF would have a field day if the Communist Party got back in power
  11. Slightly ontopic, noticed this in a Danish newspaper a short while ago: Bye, bye England? SNP plans closer Scandinavian ties after independence The Scandinavia and the World Webcomic version
  12. Probably way more than 50 here, but some of them are bought "bulk", as in the Indie Humble Bundle and some serious attempts at branching out a bit by trying genres that I would normally not look twice at. Point and click adventures, TPS fighting games like DMC4 and Dead Space, some simple kill anything that moves games etc. Guess I got tired of always playing the same 4-5 games/franchises for a decade
  13. Nice one I especially love this quote The report argues that piracy is only a significant concern for "large foreign production companies," and that these large companies need to adapt to new consumer behavior rather than seeking further legislative changes. And, the report says, "fears that these changes have a negative impact on the Swiss cultural creativity are unfounded." Funny coming from the same country whose national industry is export of lethal baby formula to third world countries killing thousands of infants, the safe keeping of Nazi gold, the treasuries of various dictators, organised crime assets and pride themselves of not giving out any information, regardless of how shady their clients are, as long as they are not Swiss. If they had had a software industry of their own, they might have been whistling a different tune. Nice role models you've got yourself there
  14. It doesn't help that the demo shows the worst part of the game. The combat?
  15. Gamersgate has a price drop "alert" that you can set up independently of your wish list. Made me a few deals the last couple of years
  16. Sounds a bit like Grotesque Tactics. Have you been adventuring with His Semi-Divine Self?
  17. Fire the project manager I don't know what the project was about, but it sounds like a number of team members failed the "real life" test.
  18. It would be politically incorrect of me to encourage such things
  19. I haven't followed it too closely, only trying to prevent people from bashing each other when discussing it I seem to have picked up from the BETA discussion thread in the C&C section, that it takes place a long time (a generation or so?) after Kotor. MMO's aren't really my thing, so not paying more attention than I have to. It's entirely possible that it takes place just before. If you want to skim through the thread, there are a lot of spoilers and story snippets to pick up. Edit to add: Link to thread mentioned
  20. Lucas Arts owns all rights to it. thats strange then because if they own all rights why would they put kotor 1 up on steam and not 2 Because the story of Kotor2 doesn't fit in with what they've planned for ToR (the MMO)? Just guessing.
  21. Not true. Khorne loves blood and skulls. More religious Sigmar/Emperor loving zealots than you can shake a tentacle at and ritual virgin sacrifices are is fine art that people are very passionate about. As for romances, I'm sure the tragic love story of Jaq Draco and Meh'lindi would qualify. In it's own quirky WH40K way THQ have been sitting on those licenses for so long without doing anything but bad shooters and mediocre RTS games. The P&P roleplaying systems have been around for like what, two decades now and never seen a video game?
  22. To put it in less words than Volourn, you have been affected by pirates whether you realise it or not. DRM is a response to both piracy and the attitude of those that feel that only other people should pay for stuff. Complaining about DRM and not the pirates is shooting the messenger. The airport security measures are an apt comparison. You get x-rayed through your underwear and bodily searched even if you are innocent, because some people don't "play by the rules" to get what they want.
  23. There are days I'm really happy not having a "smart" phone... Bye bye privacy I don't remember if it wasn't already mentioned in the science thread, but I thought it interesting. Not sure how I found it, as I was looking for news about the disarming of the 2 tonne WWII bomb in Koblenz
  24. Not really, actually there are no less than 3 threads (2 in this section), so lets cut down just a bit on the numbers Ongoing discussion about South Park RPG here
