  1. This. It's the Rolls Royce of keyboards. Only time I've tried something similar was 25+ years ago when I tried a one of those old steam powered computers running CPM. The OS, the floppy and the monochrome amber screen may have sucked, but the keyboard... (gets all misty eyed). I've heard that there are some high-end IBM keyboards around in a similar quality though. Edit: Heh, I should have read Leferd's post first.
  2. Snuck. Gorth - Dictionary: 0 - 2 Still playing Fallout: New Vegas. Finishing off some of the smaller secondary quests before starting on the next DLC. Not quite sure which one to play next. Doing a few rounds of Dungeon Defender as my "casual" game. I was tempted by Civilization V on todays Steam Sale ($30 for the deluxe one). Only thing keeping me back is I hated the first one when I bought it in 92.
  3. Gold, gold! I'm rich!... Finished Dead Money. Dropped all unessential (i.e. besides holo rifle and assassin suit) stuff and filled my pockets with gold bars. Then pushed the buttons and persuaded Elijah to come and see me. Death being too good for him, I sneaked (snook?) out while he was ranting crossed my fingers, hoping for some very long lasting life support systems to keep him alive for a century or two. That'll teach him to put a collar on Gorth. Only problem was that my math was a bit off. I had forgotten to take into consideration the weight of my old gear, which got returned to me, leaving me stranded in the SE part of the map with more than 200lbs overweight My traitorous party members had of course other ideas than showing up and give a hand. It was a very long walk back to Lucky 38 In hindsight, I should just have grabbed ALL the gold.
  4. I suppose it's too late to point out that those holograms aren't romanceable? You mean, I carried Dean's tuxedo around for nothing?!?
  5. Getting close to the end (I think) of Dead Money. Gained access to the vault and made my way through some tunnels and catwalks, "killing" and dodging speakers. Met a premature end at the hands of a trio of holograms
  6. Most of my Steam stuff is probably from the 4 humble bundles that I've bought and redeemed the codes for. Still bought a few things this December though. Grotesque Tactics 2, Plants and Zombies GOTY Edition, UFO Extraterrestials Gold (just to satisfy my curiosity), Worms (one of the best games ever), the Dungeon Siege III DLC and Skyrim which I still haven't gotten around to play yet). Forgot to mention Dungeon Defenders. One of those easy to learn, hard to master things. The demo did something unusual and actually sold me the game
  7. Best suggestion so far seems to be disabling it in the Bios and throw away the bios password. That way, you'll have to hard reset the bios to get access to it again. In an emergency, you can put in a usb netcard then There is really no good solutions short of having a dedicated file/information "server" with confidential info locked away and firewalled against the rest of the PC's.
  8. The DAS Keyboard is worth its weight in gold... and it's darn heavy. Best peripheral investment I've made for a long time (even when almost drowning it in red wine and then putting it in a nice bathtub with lukewarm water to clean it up). Not sure where to get a good mouse these days. I have an old 5 button Microsoft mouse that I've had for 9 years and dread the day it stops working.

  10. Alexander had conquered the known world at 25. Kim is rather old to be a megalomaniac
  11. I don't know if I would go as far as saying integral (unless something pops up later making it so), but I sort of got it that Christine is Veronica's lost love, which sort of ties in nicely with the background story you get during the "main game". There were some vague hints about a starlet with voice problems in some of the medical records, but it seemed like a MedX addiction, not something that ties in to an Autodoc with a Frankenstein complex.
  12. Playing 'Dead Money'. Just recruited the girl with the low voice acting budget. I suspect things get harder from here on. Also, collecting chips like a maniac for the vending machines. Somebody's been watching too much Star Trek >_ I wonder if I get to keep any of the stuff when leaving the Villa again.
  13. If your PC has onboard netcard, that's going to be a bit tricky. If you use wires (as opposed to wireless), couldn't you just block any access from that machine at the firewall (which you of course have between your intranet and the internet )?
  14. Unplug the network cable? If it's wireless, either switch off the router or if shared with other PS's) simply disable (don't uninstall, just disable) the netcard driver in your hardware list. Re-enable as needed.
  15. I wanted to start on Skyrim, but I had forgotten how additive 'Worms' is Behold, Gorth and his henchworms shall fight them in the trenches, in hell, in the scrapyard and send the lowly worms of the opponents fishing!

    Music

Just some old Danish rock music In case any non-Danish speakers should ever listen to it and wonder what the crowd is shouting, it's 'kom saa Laust, vi ved du har det' - Come on Laust (the drummer), we know you've got it
  17. Based on this thread, I think you'd have to explain "cool" to a lot of people here. Okay, but who's cool enough to teach us cool? Fonzie? That would probably be too extreme to begin with. Might cause some kind of shock. Probably better start with someone closer to the beginning level, like Dilbert or Chuck Bartowski Norris. There, fixed it for you. Yes, Dilbert is cool too

    You know

Moved to WoT as it's not really 'on-topic' anywhere
  19. Worms. Having a blast, literally
  20. I really don't get the obsession with achievements
  21. Bought a few games. Skyrim which was on a sale and only $10 more than Amazon (I figured with shipping of the physical box, the price would be about the same) and the original, one and only Worms
  22. Play and play... I bought it a long time ago and got as far as it insisted on GFWL before letting me play. It's still gathering dust and I've blacklisted Gaijin as something I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. As for the game itself, who knows?
  23. Funny stops here. More fun this way
  24. Start of old thread End of old thread Appropriate for this time of year I suppose... @Oner:
  25. The silence is overwhelming now. Probably chased off the old D&D fans and having a hard time luring in new fans.
