What are you playing now?
Hehe, time to cut down on research expenses. Now I feel tempted to play this game again, although I've started new games before, I tend to drift towards X-Com 3. Maybe it is time to visit Cydonia again and visit some righteous retribution on the master brain

What are you playing now?
Do you have access to alien blaster technology yet? They make excellent "tin openers". One shot knocks a hole in the battleship, the second shot fired through the hole clears the way for the grunts

Mass Effect 3
Maybe it really said "Like This", not "Lick This"?

Piracy
Depends on the hardware. I once bought a card which gave me Soldier of Fortune II and one that came bundled with the original Unreal. They worked nicely. Anything else has been a bad joke, usually older non-upgradeable versions of media players, media makers or antivirus software. More in the nature of ad-ware than usable soft-ware.

Making simple games
There must be a reason though why game developer always use a game engine these days. Maybe they don't feel like constantly re-inventing the wheel? Making a game engine from scratch really only makes sense if you are interested in the tech aspects (or your game revolves around a particular new feature you want to introduce). If you are mostly concerned about the game design and content, it makes sense looking at what's already available. E.g. this thread about Fife (new homepage)

What are you playing now?
Trying to beat it or playing it for the very first time? A few tactical hints: Autofire is your friend when using automatic guns. So is using the button that reserves enough action points for an interrupt (overwatch) if your marines spot an alien. The ufopedia gives a few hints for some of the aliens as to what their weaknesses and strengths are (cyberdisks and those big twolegged ones). Proximity grenades are a great invention when you need to cover your back. There is nothing embarrassing in using smoke screens if caught out in the open

Age of Decadence
http://www.irontower...pic,2419.0.html I think I mentioned in another thread that there wasn't really anything I was "looking forward to". Maybe I should retract that statement. I hope this game gets a good release and a positive reception.

What are you playing now?
Start of old thread End of old thread Ach, that one is also on my to-do list together with Hearts of Iron III. Bought both of them quite a while ago (plus the expansions for HOIII). You don't say. Learnt that the hard way yesterday after purchasing the full version of Demolition Inc. The demo is deceptively easy and then suddenly the difficulty rises faster than Zimbabwes inflation Not even on Diablo 2 yet

What you did today
Now you are sounding like LoF Job security isn't much of an issue at the moment, but those things are always subject to change on a short notice. I'm happy where I am, but I keep channels open and networking active as a safeguard. Usually get between 1 and 2 dozen offers a week from all over the world. I wouldn't be tempted by a 15% payraise. Competitive environment, latest technologies and methodologies, keeping skills sharp and up to date etc. counts for more as a long term investment

Warhammer 40k RP: Dark Heresy
Maybe the RT struck a deal with local prison authorities. Always a few scoundrels awaiting sentencing and facing life as penal troopers. Sale of the week, the content of 30 prison cells, only pay for 25?

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Heh, Gorth's list: ... Not currently looking forward to anything. I'll probably pick up something in my usual spontaneous way. Indie games, strategy games, whatever catches my fancy in the heat of the moment

Building Sets / Models / Etc
Well, you can get kits for building a ship in a bottle Otherwise, you probably answered your own question. Since I'm not into the whole home decoration thing, I would probably look for some kind of RC model ship or all terrain vehicle. Doesn't look very nice on a shelf though.

Building Sets / Models / Etc
Tricky challenge that one. I've done the odd miniature model built from scratch from green stuff (sort of taking Warhammer miniature conversion a step further), but it does require a lot of practise and "supplementary material". Green stuff isn't cheap. Looks better when painted too. Bronze casting is probably out of the question too 3D Modelling? Doesn't really give you anything to put on your shelf in itself, but if you create models/sculptures you really like, you can export it in a file and have it printed out on a 3D printer (they are a bit pricey still, but get better and cheaper by the year and there are companies you pay to print it out in quality plastic). Are you aiming for small stuff, large stuff, actually building something or assembling and painting/customising something? Maybe Guarddog has a spare car for you to renovate

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)
Yeah, we got hit by a bit of a cold spell there (pun intended). I feel like playing BG again. Just finished installing the GOG version and various fixpacks and UB mods. No tutu or bgt

Supernatural Video Game
It's meant to be Supernatural, the TV show. Which I presume is on the CW network in the land of stars and stripes. 'The CW Television Network'... can't say I've ever heard about them Did you ever hear about UPN (Paramount's channel) and the WB (Warner Bros. channel)? They merged. I recognise the names Paramount and Warner Bros, but I guess you have to live in North America to know them as TV channels
