I like watching open land and mountains. Must have something to do with being born and raised in Denmark.

A video game survey
How do you know that less than 10 % of the people who responded are not from America? Do you know a poll was run on these forums to see where people lived and the majority of people who responded are not from America. Could you maybe refer to the US as Hillbilly-Yankee land? I was always bothered by how they usurped the term used for the entire continent. You act like Canada and Mexico and places south on the two American continents matter. I KID! I KID! Sadly the United States of America doesn't lend itself to easy nationalistic references like "Canadian", "Mexican", "Belgium", etc does. USAers looks wrong USers looks ironic Statesperson sounds like you're making a governmental speech Citizen of the United States of America is accurate but wordy. Abbreviation to CUSA sounds vaguely dirty. I'm a bit curious about the 10% too. Is that a result of IP tracking? The demographic of this specific community is something like less than 50% being from the US.

Obsidian social dynamics question
Vanity is creating alt accounts to give yourself likes. I probably fall somewhere in between LC and Amentep. Sometimes I feel guilty for not reciprocating likes, sometimes I do it if I genuinely like a post, sometimes just as a note, that I read a post and enjoyed the answer, but didn't know how to continue a line of discussion. As for my own posting, quantity, style etc. I don't think I've moved one inch in any direction. Some old dogs can't be arsed to learn new tricks. Isn't that 'Like' thing a Facebook contraption anyway?

It would be nice too if you could queue for specific PVP games, like you can with FP's

A video game survey
Add 100% artificial price hike (cartel/price fixing) when selling games to the Aussie market (talking about pure digital download from the same online stores). Location can matter.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
My powertech got jump packs (similar to force leap) and the grapple hook for pulling, so I can either go to the action or bring it to me. He's only so-so in the damage dealing department though. That resilience does come at a cost Stealth sucks when doing the defend doors thing... I can deploy my scanner, but it lasts 10 seconds and only covers a small area. They walk right up to you and stun you for an eternity, and often in pairs, so you waste your long cooldown stun break (my smuggler on the other hand has stealth detection as an ability, improving the longer she stays in cover, nobody sneaks up on her). Anecdotal: Funniest "own goal" was being grappled by a powertech (while carrying the ball) and being pulled over their goal line. Talk about back firing

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
Begeren (US West Coast) I tried the east coast server and the two main English speaking European ones (RP and PVE), but the lag was just atrocious. 600-1000ms At least it sticks with 250-500ms here. Still annoying when you are used to 30-50ms, but I'm not really into the whole PVP thing other than as a casual experience, so lightning reflexes is less important Edit to add: I originally tried them out a while ago, before we were forced out of our current "home", just to see if the name 'Gorth' was available. Created a character on each server, played around for 30 minutes and noticed the latency times back then. It's possible they are different now, but most of my characters (sans a one level 1) have moved to the US west coast).

Xbox 720 Reveal
Hmm... first thing that springs to mind when saying 'xbone' Sort of relaxing watching this with a degree of detachment. Never been into the console stuff, much less the which is better stuff. Lacking a bit on the drama side

Brazilian Riots
That's because he knew how to play the game. If you want to create stability in a poor country, you need 2 things. You need to be seen cracking down on corruption (whether you actually do it or not) and you need to offer people hope of upward mobility (whether real or not). As long as you can do that, people seem to be generally docile and go along with whatever other excentricies you may have. Looks like they failed on one or both points in Brazil. Edit to add: Slightly tangential, but I think (imho) that corruption is the single most contributing factor holding back emerging and third world countries.

A video game survey
I filled out the survey, but not sure what was meant by this: "If there is a large disagreement between professional critic reviews and user reviews, the game is probably bad" Is that if the self proclaimed pros like and the gamers don't or the other way around? Edit: I can't believe I mangled the name Gamebanshee under 'other'

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
Yeah, it turns into a math game if you are not careful My bounty hunter is specialising in the defensive (Powertech) skill tree, so he has a jet pack to get into the thick of the action (usually plays tank, so it makes sense). I had planned on starting a few new lowlevel characters this weekend (finally got one all for my self, no work, no obligations). Unfortunately the double xp thing threw a spanner in that, so I had to focus on my older high level characters, clearing out backlogs. Damage isn't so bad when you 12 instead of 6 xp Of course, I couldn't quite help myself, not having played flashpoints for quite a long time, so Gorth MacRoth is now level 41, despite trying to be careful and avoid xp. Completing "Boarding Party", "Foundry" and "Colicoid Games" twice has that effect

Wrong Language with Steam gift
Maybe it was intentional, like a cruel prank... let's see his face when it starts Deutsch zu sprechen Sorry, no idea. Never needed Steam Support (knock on wood and all that).

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
I'll get around to that one eventually. Had a level 20 Inquisitor once, but deleted him (as well as a level 22 jedi). This was *before* the barber shop and name changes, and I just hated either the looks or silly names I had ended up with for those characters.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
I got a Chiss Sniper (level 26), a Zabrak Sith Juggernaut (level 27), a female human smuggler (level 28), a cyborg Commando (level 30) and ex-Gorth the Bounty Hunter now at level 38. So yeah, quite a bit of effort invested Not really into the Jedi/Sith stuff, but made an exception for the Sith Warrior, probably part because of the good acting. Yes, my sniper is incredibly good at the callous assassin type thing.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
Closest thing to that would be an old Icewind Dale 2 game, featuring a barbarian family, including brothers Throg and Groth (lead by 'Gorth' of course)
