  1. Dragon Age need more swamps ... Edit: Didn't those Grey Knights have some remote HQ somewhere in some mountains?
  2. I used to be intimidated by Deathclaws. Then I went back to the Quarry much later, all geared up and went on a killing spree. It was good therapy. Then I got over confident and crawled up on top of some engineering machinery in the middle to properly cow the lizardly fiends into submission with my sheer alpha-maleness... and fell off the building (killed by the fall). Not any particular morale (hubris - nemesis?) but just an amusing experience none the less.
  3. Yeah, got the email too today, with a Steam key included. Sort of confirming that "slacker backers" (i.e. post Kickstarter supporters) are included on their list.
  4. Situation is similar down under. Housing is something that divides the country into have several properties and never being able to own your own home. Here the problem (IMHO) is the urbanisation, which mean a country the size of Europe has 80% of it's population living in 5 cities or some such (not sure about the exact figures but I think people get the point). Everything else is effectively empty country. Not because the land is infertile, but because people seem to have this driving urge to congregate towards each other physically.
  5. Sounds like a typical summer day here. 27 degrees would be a mild spring day. I need to get my mind out of the gutter... I really read that title as 'in' instead of 'is'
  6. Let it be said up front that I hate phones passionately. Especially the mobile ones. It's some Trojan device created by the denizens of hell to make life miserable for mankind because they were stupid enough to embrace it. Apart from that, I have two very distinct attitudes. On my home phone (land line) I don't have a message bank nor Caller ID (because nobody I know has ever been given that number). Only calls are spam calls and sometimes I just hang up, sometimes I lead them on a merry chase if having had a hard day (if they can waste my time, I can waste theirs). My work phone is different and anybody with legitimate business calling me has been added with name etc. as contact. Depending on who calls, I decide whether or not getting back to them is a priority or not.
  7. So, technically you just have to kill all witnesses and you can claim innocence as the burden of proof is on the dead guys to prove they aren't guilty of anything. As the law is, the verdict is correct. It's still a silly law. Did anything prevent him from just keeping an eye on what he considered a suspect while waiting for law enforcement to arrive? No, haven't read up on all timelines and attempts at reconstructing events. One of the two key witnesses is dead, so we'll always only get one side of the story. The rest we have to extrapolate the best our various bias's and prejudices allows.
  8. Gorth replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
Thread getting a bit long (understatement)... More Steam! here
  9. Gorth posted a topic in Computer and Console
Start of old thread End of old thread Old thread ran out of Steam (pun intended)... Current subject was Steam trading cards. Never heard of them
  10. Pretty much this. Part of the reason why doing live pranks on radio with unknown and unsuspecting victims is a new low. I guess they have to compete in cringe worthiness with the latest reality TV. You can cook, dance, almost sing do silly stunts? Guess what, we can humiliate common people right in your living room, beat that.
  11. Already got it and bought every bit of DLC since its release?
  12. I've had character dedicated to just trading on the GTN since I started playing "for real" (after the basic f2p). Buying cheap, selling with profits and now I have one of every high priced armour suit (Mira, Thana Vesh, what have you) from the cartel market and a couple of extra million credits in the bank. I wish real world stock markets were that easy
  13. Maybe the Steam versions of these oldies differ from their original optical media versions? Wouldn't make much sense trying to tinker with hardware settings on Direct Download software.
  14. Yeah, I wish, but no. Whether sufficient or little money, I still consider "Time" the most valuable currency. Money lost can be replaced. Time lost is lost forever.
  15. Never been particularly interested in this project. If I had unlimited funds, I would probably pursue something a bit in the direction of the Icewind Gate II project, except actually focus on building a *new* engine, that could work with the existing data files and assets (rather than trying to reverse engineer and tweak binaries which is a recipe for disasters and/or chronic headaches).
  16. I liked the way it was handled in PS:T between TNO and Annah/FFG. If played the right way, no doubt about there being some kind of sexual tension, attraction even, but not a romance. More like the ties that binds people (un)naturally together when thrown into a situation where you have to survive as a team for a while.
  17. She enjoyed the limelight and "popularity" (notoriety?) before things turned sour, not sharing any of the back patting with anybody else. Now suddenly looking for somebody to share blame with? Either there is something else going on or it's just hypocrisy of the worst kind.
  18. Yep, I know the first one alright. Norman was a genius. Game design, artwork, coding, music composition... Back when developers were one man armies. Cosmi still exists as far as I know. Music of Forbidden Forest was awe inspiring.
  19. Basque is an interesting subjects (just checked the map links). Nobody really know where they originate from, but they are one of the, if not the oldest existing European people.
  20. Sparta vs. Samoa... waiting for the outcome There are entire websites dedicated to amusing auto-correct results
  21. Don't feel too bad about subscribing for a while, we wont tell anyone Heck, I've got two subscriptions at the moment. Buying the expansion for my "alt" account (I run a completely separate accounts, one for home one for on the road, traveling with my laptop, just in case my laptop gets lost, compromised or otherwise). Didn't intend to subscribe on that one as it already had all the "unlocks", but it was less than $5 to get a month complimentary with expansion. I'll let that one "lapse" again though, as it really is just an alternative to Windows Spider Solitaire when passing time in hotel rooms.
  22. They would probably have done that years ago if they had some legal basis for it. Warmachine is an old miniature wargame not unlike older versions of the GW games. Privateer Press has been around for more than a decade IIRC.
  23. Now I'm having visions of an in-game Bard (chanter?) starting up "kickstarter" projects to fund his traditional harp based compositions instead of all this modern lute based stuff.
  24. I remember my very first build. Forgot to attach the fan to the CPU. Wondered why it kept stalling and stopping 2 seconds into POST. Then I noticed something was missing and touched the CPU with my finger tip, giving a slightly startled yelp of pain (it was very hot). Those were the days [/nostalgia] Nice build indeed. I wish I could add more RAM to my current system, but unfortunately ye olde Gigabyte motherboard doesn't want that.
  25. The Eisenhorn books... nobody escapes the Imperial Inquisition, whether alien, heretic or mutant, they are all vile in the eyes of the Emperor and must be rooted out where they can be found.
