So how old are you people then?

Sorry, no insult intended, but those are modern games. For old school, look up Nethack, Rogue, Temple of apshai and the SSI rpgs -
Not sure if I understand you correctly, but lets say I start writing a post and decide after i begin writing, that I want to quote what you wrote above, if Feeling lazy, I'll open a new tab, cut and paste the URL and hit the Quote button. That gives me the text
Suprisingly this is the forum I need to post it on. 1. How do I put someones quote into a post I already made, but am trying to edit? It seems there is no good way of doing this. 2. Emoticons and moreover their layout through which you can add them is poor. The emoticons would need to be better organized first of all - starting from the mst basic emoticons and grouping emoticons of the same and similar style together. Also it would be easier to find the correct emoticon if you could choose them from a table, not a bar.
Then I just cut and paste those parts I need, say first, last and a bullet Point 1.
1. How do I put someones quote into a post I already made, but am trying to edit? It seems there is no good way of doing this.
If doing "complex" multi quoting, I tend to rely on Notepad, quoting each post and cut and pasting what i want to Notepad first. Then insert snippets from there as a write. Never liked the Wysiwyg Interface, but then I grew up with vi. ...which is also why I never bother with the visual mode and just type the text code for the Smileys Alternatively, you can Quote "Volourn" style which is a simpler cut and paste style: "1. How do I put someones quote into a post I already made, but am trying to edit? It seems there is no good way of doing this. 2. Emoticons and moreover their layout through which you can add them is poor. Also it would be easier to find the correct emoticon if you could choose them from a table, not a bar." No. Deal with it. R00fles. --- Personally, I prefer my own approach. I'm sure if you ask 30 different People you'll get 30 different preferences

I have a lot of aunts and there is a specific one whose death I would not mourn. There are aunts and there are aunts. Got a few I care a lot about and would give my left kidney for. Got 1 where i promised myself 40 years ago, when she's dead I'll go and pee on her grave. I should probably check if she's still alive, never liked empty promises if I can help it.

Good thing I didn't upgrade my PC yet! Feel free to correct me, but todays bottle neck isn't so much individual chips as the entire bus architecture limiting the speed at which chips can communicate? A problem that has persisted on PC's since the 386/486 days when cpu (and gpu) speeds ran away from motherboard/chip set speeds? Just waiting for the first Quantum computer where everything happens instantaneously

Dev sends death threat to Valve CEO, has game removed from STEAM
Gorth replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
Don't give her any ideas or you'll end up making your own sandwiches for the rest of your life. Next thing you know, she'll threaten to poison your beer and you have to get it yourself. What is the world coming to?... ... Those who know me recognises it as an obvious joke, random internet strangers would likely take offense at the sexist pig attitude. Thing is, without context, you do need to assume things posted on the internet is the equivalent of a soap box in some London park. Unless it's truly a private forum with access restrictions, you are talking to the wider public and need to consider what you say in that light. ... Regardless of whether it was meant serious or not, I don't see any problems with Steam not wanting to do business with a person or a company if they find them either offensive or just too problematic to work together with. I'm fairly sure more than one boss has fired an employee too if he lost it and ranted at the boss in a public forum, regardless of whether the employee was a family provider. Sometimes you just need to think before you talk. -

The GREATEST murder mystery finally solved, who was Jack the Ripper
Gorth replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
If I had a time machine and could visit 3 places at a time of my choice (just observing, not interfering), I would probably want to see who was Jack the Ripper, was it really an asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and watch a sermon by Jesus (the one on the mountain most likely). -

Just read the lastest developer post on the SWTOR Forums. Good Thing I didn't try very hard to use GF lately. They are indeed making all existing gear and commendations in your inventory obsolete, putting everyone back to the starting point. Also managed to Speed up crafting selling off most of my stock of "current" high end stuff, like Augments, Augment kits etc. (while still getting current premium Prices) as they are going to be the second rate, forgettable ones after 3.0 Edit: Should they change their minds and not introduce mk-10 kits and a new higher rating augment family, no skin off my nose, I still got a gazillion credits and can make new ones over time. -

Fair? No. But it's his effin responsibility to suck it up and deal with it. It's why he is Boss and most likely get paid a lot more than the Office cleaners. It's because he is burdened with the responsibility to look after the companys interests first and foremost and not personal indulgences. If he doesn't like it (or can't handle it), he is not the right person to be in that position. He is the one that doesn't seem to care about the well being of the people working there. -
Happiest Countries in the World proves Western Ideology Works
Gorth replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
I was about to mention it, but decided against it The US electoral college system is not a true democracy and therefore not "legitimate". Waiting for South Africa to declare war in the US to correct that heresy -
Happiest Countries in the World proves Western Ideology Works
Gorth replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
If you can't see it, I'm not sure I can explain it so it makes sense. Who made the decision that a leader with more than 50% backing inside a nationstate is the only "legitimate" leader? What about a leader appointed according to his countrys constitution? Italy had a PM for a while that was appointed "Senator for Life" by the President and appointed PM and a cabinet consisting of People not elected for anything (i.e. technocrats). He was never elected, yet no NATO planes swooped in and bombed Rome back to the stone age. -

Bruce... I think you are being very careless with the use of the word "legitimate". Who exactly are entitled to declare something "legitimate". 99% of cases I see the word used, it's used to describe personal bias. I don't like leader x, therefore his rule is not legitimate. By the same token, You would be dancing around the table and celebrate the Chinese armys Liberation of the poor Tibetan people from the totalitarian and completely illegimate rule of their former dictator, Dalai Lama, who was never elected by the Tibetan people. Besides, the war in Libya was never about democracy. It was about payback and a settling of scores between clans. Ever wondered why the rebellion used the flag of the old king Idris as their gathering point? The "West" saw an opportunity to get rid of an old bogeyman (and only reluctantly at that) while scoring some cheap PR points. Prolonged war would hurt the oil production after all. Edit to add: Main antagonists being the Qadaffis and the Senussis (because i couldn't remember the latters name from top of my head). -

Gorth replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
Just my $0.25... I wouldn't classify people living in "Western Ideology" countries as being happy as much as disillusioned complacency. Most western countries are nominal democracies and effectively oligarchies. Populations are best controlled and most productive if they think they are in charge, regardless of how little influence they truly have on the running of countries. Many people probably dream of doing more with their lives, hope for better QoL, fame, fortune etc. and only a miniscule minority ever achieve that. While those few live their dreams, the rest is left dreaming. The complacency stems from life being just comfortable enough to give people pause and stop and wonder if it's *really* worth the hassle trying to make things better. Might as well let somebody else speak up and catch the flak if it backfires. -
I haven't really followed the game much, much less visited the Website, but seriously, Iron Bull sounds like the ingame version of a Blooming Rose "Champion"

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Correct, it's the progenitor of the "tactical" flashpoints and changed specifically because of Queue times and skills at Level 10-15 is a joke. Healers and tanks are no more healers and tanks than their dps Team members with off-tanking and off-healing capability. An oddity of the soon to be defunct skill tree System that they had to move role specific capabilities higher and higher up the trees to prevent all powerful hybrid specs (meaning roles are pretty much just a tag you get until reaching Level something like Level 30). @Gromnir: Harbinger... I have a handful toons there and a single Level 55 dps commando I transferred there. Not that I really play my commando, but I used it to see if character transfer worked (because it sure didn't work verĂ½ well when we got kicked out of the Apac servers) and get all the unlocks and class buffs for the toons I started leveling up there. I might just look you up some day, although it probably wont be until end of 12x xp (early December iirc). Maybe i should respec the commando to healer. I read that cou can drop the silly looking assault cannons as they are not needed for healing capabilities. -

Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Which means levels 10-15. I *think* you may find it hard if you are on the wrong server at the wrong time of day or if every man and his hamster is busy levelling alts, in which case they don't bother with flashpoints at the moment. Heck, even the L55 HM"s has noticeable longer queue times after the 12x xp event started. Lots of people playing class stories and nothing else, leveling up as many alts as fast as possible. -

Gorth replied to Jarmo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Me, a friend, a Spectrum, two QuickShot joystics and a weekend with The Way of the Exploding Fist. Not my longest ever gaming binge, but the only time I actually got blisters in my fingers. A friend and I got so good at that game (on the C64) that a single match could last virtually forever until one of us keeled over from fatigue. That was because you could block incoming attacks 100% of the time and effectively turn it into a game of tic-tac-toe. As a computer in a movie once said, the only way to win is not to play... or hope you had more coffee than your opponent. -

If anynone though the KDY Kiddies graduating from the KDY Academy was bad, they ain't seen nothing yet. If double xp weekends create double the number of bad Players in fp's, I swear the 12x xp period now is creating 12 times the number of bad, vastly undergeared and situational awareness challenged participants. Anecdotal, but 2 out of 3 HM FP's that pop, I end up leaving after 5-10 seconds. HP isn't but a quick and dirty guage of peoples gear, but when you end up in Groups where the tank is 21k and he's the best geared of the other 3, you know you are not going to make it through HM CZ Meltdown without astronomical repair bills. You can carry one piece of dead weight, even two if done by two experienced and decently geared players, but not 3 people with completely blank achievement lists in the FP section Started selling out of all the old crafted stuff while still getting a few credits for them and saving up all the coms my toons can hoard within the total cap, expecting to be able to buy better gear for the same coms after 3.0
